Hi, just subbed, I like that you grow peanuts, and cotton in the older videos. RU-vid recommended your channel. I used to help bail hay when I was a kid on the family farm, which my family stopped doing many year's ago. I ran a 225 burial a year cemetery until I got injured pretty bad, and then got MS which took me out. God bless.
I just recently discovered your channel and I have to say, it’s really very interesting. I love how you narrate and explain different aspects of farming. I live in New Jersey which is not really a hotbed of farming despite being known as the Garden State. Most of the open space here has been paved over, lol. Thanks for your great videos. 😃
I always wondered about harvesting peanut...now I know, lol. As a peanut lover, thanks dude! We have "exchange student" workers that pick rocks out of our potato ground...we can ship you a few..and a english to spanish dictionary 😁
Glad to see your subscriber numbers climbing. I've been putting your vlog out there on the other channels I follow. You've got great content, great personality, all while farming in tough conditions but then again, all farming is tough conditions - just different ones, you keep doing this. We all enjoy your updates. Thanks
My only cringe was digging around the header looking for a stuck rock. Sure could use some more lights, what about snakes? Seems like a good habitat for snakes, though as the years pass, they would tend to thin out with mechanized equipment taking its toll.
Hi from Australia, just subscribed.. Awesome video..👍 Peanuts and rocks go hand in hand..😁 We run some.fields where I think there's more rocks.than peanuts...😅 What sort of tonnage are you yielding? Stay safe..
How much searching on the internet did you do before deciding it was easier to deal with the rocks? I think you should add a screen at the rear discharge to at least catch some of the rocks, that way, if you can say carry a bunch of rocks to the end of the row, they might bother you a bit less next harvest. Maybe even have the rocks funneled into a wagon for collection? If doing rock removal, the best time is after the harvest, and before planting the next crop. Just my opinion, feel free to do what you want! :D
Does one of those combines come cheaper than a harvester combine with conventional head? Is a forager combine cheaper than that..there can’t be much to them, so it’s gotta be cheaper than most machines. I spent a lot of time on my uncles farm growing up, but we didn’t do agriculture....I shoveled a lot of manure and moved animals back n’ forth. The president just earmarked a bunch of money for our farmers, I hope you get a check.
Yea the check would sure help out a lot of farmers. I know a few farmers who are probably struggling more than us and I hope they get some help as well. But this machine brand new cost $450,000 but we had bought ours 15 years ago for $200,000
Picked up a huge pice of flint rock once and tore out a bunch of bars. Took about three hours to fix. I still don’t know how that big of a rock got ingested by a 2100 Amadas!
So I’m confused, you complain about the rocks. So instead of getting out and picking it up like my grandparents did were just gonna push it aside and complain about It next year.
It's probably all propaganda news your getting in Europe about our beloved moron. NY farmer here and Trump is an idiot....but he's the best option the states were offered. Now that our votes don't count it really doesn't matter whos in charge
I’m sure that you know who Laura is. And the farmer that had his equipment torched because of Trump flags. Please be careful. Or take them down at night. God I hope I don’t see anything so terrible happen to anyone else. Just be safe.
You throwing that rock reminded me of the starfish story. An old man who goes for a walk on the beach after a big storm has passed. That day, the beach was littered with starfish. From a distance, he spotted a little boy. The boy seemed to be picking something up and throwing it back into the sea. The man could see that he was doing this over and over again. The man asked the boy what he was doing. The boy replied that he was throwing the starfish back into the ocean. He said that if they were left there on the beach, they would die when the sun got high. To this, the old man replied that there were thousands of starfish on the beach! “You won’t make much difference” he told him. The boy picked another starfish and threw it back into the sea. Smiling, he then turned and told the man “It made a difference to that one!”
