This is the first 360 video to be shot in Harwoods Hole, it is an interesting perspective of one of our truly wonderful caves. Probably best viewed with a virtual realty headset I think. Use your phone to look around the scene. You do have to turn on the VR setting when you are in youtube and make sure you play it at 1080 or higher. :-)

Hi Andrew, that's for your feedback. Even though we are still learning we can see the power of this medium. It's a great way to share what we do and we are about to take it out into the community to tell some local stories, he There will be more coming. Regards Kieran

Kieran Mckay Kieran, the video is great mate, but like you said, more use will make it a lot easier to film, so many attachments to put it to good use, headcam, chestcam...looking forward to the next adventure 👍🏼😊

Good video Kieran, I've watched quite a few of your videos and noticed that you and your pals all use rack descenders. Decades ago I used to use a Petzl Stop descender in the UK for caves and old mines, but the pitches were tiny by comparison to Harwoods!! I'd really value your opinion of racks compared to Petzl Stops for Kiwi caving? Regards Paul (now in Darfield).

I used a stop once them threw it away. I like the way racks can be used with one hand, easy to modify friction, east to put on rope, easy to change worn out bits easy to use on multi thickness ropes and heaps easier to do long descents. Only downside is if you let go the only thing to stop you is the ground. So rule is, do not let go :-)
