I am. Looking based on a conversation I had with a family member talking about contradictions in the Bible. I really enjoy Mike Winger.

yayyy, I’m mostly frustrated with Christians who don’t fully believe the bible or twist it to their beliefs. I have much peace with Mike Winger, and I never dealt with my anger towards unbelieving Christians so I’m trusting God will show me His grace that I might treat the truth as Mike Winger does: with thoroughness and patience.

There is only one truth, and that's we made up a nice book out of some nice story's. We humans are quite week and need explanation for everything, that book gave it. But come on Cheryl, we live in 2018, we now know there is no god and we have science to explain things in life. Wake up man, there is total none none none proof of an existing of god. Why the hell you think thats the case? Why its just clear in history how the bible and other story has developed? Nothing to do with a god.... man man I really wonder how its possible people cant think rational.

Cloudy Water Does it seeming ridiculous necessarily entail its falsehood? We live in an extraordinary world where many things seem unbelievable yet they are true. And do bad consequences of something mean it is false? Religion has done immense good for our society as well as bad. Modern science had its origin in the monotheistic idea that there was a single Creator that created the universe in a comprehensible way that we could understand. That’s only one way religion has positively impacted our culture, I could go on. And I’m not saying this means that theism is true, just that to say all that religion has done is evil is ignoring the other side of it all. And I’m not denying that atheists can be good and happy people. I’m simply stating that just because it makes people happy does not mean it is the comfort blanket you make it out to be, though it certainly can be for some believers.

Please seek Jesus Christ and He will make Himself known to you, *"And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." The basic requirement of being a false prophet would be making a NEW prophecy. Jehovah's Witnesses do not make prophecies. They are a non-prophet organization, ha, ha. At no point was it ever said, "I had a vision" or "God spoke to me" etc. such as Joseph Smith and Ellen White claimed. Making such a claim and then it not happening would be evidence someone was not from God. It is different simply trying to understand something complex, such as what Bible prophecy means and revising your expectations as more is understood. I doubt Mike Winger believes he has a perfect understanding of what will happen in the future. In fact, I think the future will turn out much different than he imagines. However, even if he states such beliefs with confidence, I would not call him a false prophet if he was simply honestly trying to connect what was foretold by actual recognized prophets (such as Jesus, Daniel, John, etc.) with events in our future. The Watchtower magazine does not claim to be inspired. Thus, it is fairly regular to have a revised understanding on matters. The old understanding is not hidden, but specified at the same time as the new understanding so the distinction is understood. This is the proper way to progress. Much worse is when an organization claims inspiration and then sticks to understandings despite contrary evidence. Papal infallibility is a claim to divine origin of teachings which then become hard to walk back. Adventists still constantly quote and publish books from Ellen White, despite her very much being a woman of her times. Witnesses very rarely mention sayings of Charles Russell and never as authoritative, even though he was right on many fundamental matters. Jesus stressed many times to “keep on the watch.” I think most today are not alert at all to the coming of the Kingdom or the Great Tribulation. Better too alert than not alert enough! Having over eager but inaccurate expectations does not mean one doesn’t have the Truth. The Apostles were also over eager and wrong about when the Kingdom would come. (Luke 19:11) they thought that the Kingdom of God was going to appear instantly (Acts 1:6) So when they had assembled, they asked him: “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?” Should we dismiss the Apostles as false prophets for several times having wrong premature expectations of when the Kingdom would arrive? The crucial thing is to "Keep on the watch" as Jesus directed. I think most who accept the Bible try to look for the signs given by Jesus and the prophets to be fulfilled. As long as one is only trying to understand these EXISTING prophecies and not claiming inspiration for NEW ones then why disparage someone, even if dates are considered (long ago)? Because if there is a God then it means he created you he is your maker and.. Well, GOD. if you dont get it then you probably show little if any respect towards others especially authority figures.. Btw showing respect is way more mature, makes you look like 1000x a bettet person, shows that you are tough with a strong mind (disrespect usually means weak minded person)

The question is not if Christianity is true. The question is if God exist. If you knock out that out than there is no need of showing off and prove your existence of you already proved it.

I didn't know Genesis mentioned the cosmic microwave background. What does it say about where all the anti-matter went?

The best way to make an unchanging record is to write it down? Really? How about using his omnipotence to broadcast the information directly into everyone's brain so they all get the same message and there can be no misinterpretations. This would be far more efficient than only broadcasting to a few people and relying on the faults of humanity to spread the message through text that can be mistranslated, misinterpreted, etc. It would be unambiguous and take 0 effort when compared to the infinite capabilities that an omnipotent being would possess.

Most religions claim to have "genuine prophecies" and back them up with events. Id likely accept prophecy if it said X will happen in Y years and be enacted by Z (groups/people/countries/etc). But vague prophecies with with no timeline or specific details can be made by anyone with 100% accuracy. Because given enough time and a common enough event being foretold its bound to happen eventually. I hope you have examples with such specifics not just vague references that could be interpreted to match a multitude of common events.

It's disappointing how you started saying true prophecies will be proof and then, just stopped short of supporting that (so far), and only showed other religions failed prophecies... That should have been another video titled something like "false prophecies that show other religions to be false" or call this video something like that.

Hi Alex. I have also consulted mediums (with mixed results) but wouldn't now, and can't subscribe to such a thing. I think this consultation with the spirit world is gaining contact with something outside God's Kingdom (I know you would agree.) Did the event of fulfilment happen before or after you became a Christian? Ultimately God is in control of events, but if you were praying to God sincerely, I'd be surprised if he didn't allow the events to change. I have heard some fallen angels are more "benevolent" than others, and I think that's possibly true. My understanding is that only God can see into the future, but the spirit realm is very perceptive and demonic spirits can help make things happen, in other words, they can fulfil their own predictions to some extent. I believe the witch at Endor who contacted Samuel actually did contact Samuel, but God allowed that to happen. I also am reminded of Edgar Casey who was supposedly a Christian and made very accurate prophesies, but also made some weird predictions and thoughts and utterances about history. You have to think about the method. Edgar Casey did all that under a trance unconsciously, which is not what would happen under the Holy Spirit. Also, one false prophesy makes someone a false prophet and not called of by God.

@@matthew8054 the spirit was not Samuel, it's clear because he didn't say the truth. He said that Saul would have been with him in heaven, but that's not true. He was not Samuel even because the Bible says that no one can talk to death in many passages.

@@c12r16 The bible says Samuel spoke. Where was Samuel? Heaven or paradise or sheol? Samuel doesn't specify the place. It would probably have been understood he was resting somewhere in Sheol. - Also he mentions Saul's sons. Whatever could be said about Saul, Jonathan would surely go to the Lord. Anyway, this is a minor point from the points I was trying to make above.

There are reasons to strongly suspect the gospels were written in part to fulfill old prophesies for credibility. So you have to assume the gospels are true as evidence that they are true. Obvious circular reasoning

If anybody sees this Lee strobel made a great book and movie called Case for Christ about an atheist journalist trying to objectively investigate Jesus’ resurrection. Very good, I saw the movie and a testimony from a former atheist who said the book helped to convert him.

Demons or Evil spirits would want to push people away from God. In Your example, you are saying that the demons would fulfill prophecies that would lead people to holiness and closer to God. Since demons push corruption and everything that is an abomination to God, then your example fails to prove why demons would want people to follow Jesus. Instead, the Bible is full of ways Satan himself tried to prevent prophesy..Satan appeared to Jesus to try to prevent him to fulfill prophecy.
