Dan is awesome! To be honest, the entire LMG team has a certain type of charisma that just really works. Its cool that LTT isn't just Linus anymore and its bits and pieces of his team slowly working in and off camera. Its a great dynamic
@@BraydenPrice30 I really do not find the guy funny and that's what his whole persona is based on. Seeing as he writes TechLinked, there his jokes with him delivering them and not a single time have I ever thought it's anything but cringe. My dislike for him is solely as a host for LMG and doesn't reflect how I feel about him as an individual.
Everyone has there strong suits. Dan is super great at articulating his thoughts, Anthony is soothing and passionate, Sarah is hilarious, and Linus is… Linus
Linus is a genius. He’s picked a team of absolute gems. Every host has something in one area that another doesn’t, but they all have a great base knowledge, and they’re all very entertaining to watch.
Dan really just called it "Marketing Wank", you are a Brit in disguise my friend 🤣🤣 I'm surprised it wasn't beeped, although I doubt YT consider it swearing lol
I can agree, I have another slightly older model and smaller model from the same line-up and quality-wise (and I care a lot about sound quality as a music producer) it was the best bluetooth speaker out of all I could test or locally buy like 4 years ago despite being "Extra Bass" which I generally also don't like (so I of course keep that and the weird Live stereo-expansion mode off, just plain stock - surprisingly good for stock), but it still sounded far better than any other in the price range I was going for back then and I'm still happily using it.
Sony's sound is less colourful, kicks no dopamine (for me) honestly feels kinda sad to pay that much price. Yeah it's quite durable decent design good quality adequate working not giving you a headache tuned and all that
I have a Sony SRS XB43 and I love it. Perfect balance between convenient size and satisfying sound. I use it behind my pillow to play music while I fall asleep, and I use it at big parties to pump dance music. The light mode is prominent and rave-y too. Only thing it's missing is a carry handle. Unfortunately it's not being sold in Australia anymore (or at least at JB Hi-Fi) and I need the same model if I want to do stereo sound. I'm not game to buy _two_ of these XG300s at once, even though I'm sure they're just as good if not better.
@@iHasCaek their 3090 and high-end builds are unreasonable for nearly everyone anyway, hifi audio can get very interesting so I hope they get into it sooon
i THINK i understand what the isolator is doing. if you look at high end dj hardware there's a filter knob that will take you between the high pass and low pass filters, if you want it off you put it back in the middle. what sony did in this case is the put the middle part at the bottom rather than in the middle so 1-20 is low pass at various strengths 20-40 is high pass at various settings.
i'd say it's a bandpass sweep which at the low and high ends of the spectrum essentially becomes a low- or high-pass considering the audible frequencies
I'm loving the design of that SONY speaker. The retractable handle and subtle lights with the all around mesh looks fantastic. And it sounds pretty damn good too
LMG has so much amazing talent, Dan, Riley, Jake, Anthony, Brandon, Luke, Alex, Sarah and so many more also behind the scenes, still can't forget Nicky V, Ivan, Collin, Max even when they are no longer part of LMG, they were still amazing hosts, LMG definitely manages to find the right people
The ports on the sides are called passive speakers. They move because the actual drivers on the front are changing the air pressure inside. It's a really efficient way to pump up the bass in the small form factor that these speakers are made in these days.
I mean everyone saying the same things here but Dan really is top tier. SO knowledgeable but honest and articulate. When it comes to sound products especially I value his opinions greatly
The thing is that Sony seems to have had a bit of a revival in many tech line-ups in the last few years. Their high-end audio ,camera and television equipment was always insane (not to mention the gaming consoles), but there was nothing for the average person who doesn't have thousands to blow on a setup. Now we have their insane mirrorless cameras, their "mid-range" audio equipment such as the WH-1000XM[] series NC headphones, the earbuds, Bluetooth speakers and, of course, their latest smartphones likes the Xperia 1 and such. Also, I'm not quite sure what you mean by Linus' hate?
@@SonyEnthusiast no its a high quality chinese brand and its 80 watts peak and cost me £60 lol, this fony junk is more than 3x the price for 17watts !!!
Dan is such a good addition to the roster of presenters on LTT. He's got his own corner of wit and bone dry delivery. Linus really knows how to pick them.
@@SonyEnthusiast I wanted the Xperia I mk IV. However, after hearing about the overheating issues with Snapdragon 8 gen1 in that device, I am now waiting for the Xperia 1 mk V
The way you make a portable speaker waterproof is by using a sealed enclosure or passive resonators instead of a ported design, then you use water-resistant speaker cone materials and a rubber surround. Finally, you seal off underneath the speakers and resonators with some sort of gasket material and use waterproofed buttons and ports to ensure that water can't penetrate those. It's pretty cool that they opted for a proper depth rating on a boombox.
I was actually expecting it to be super expensive since it’s Sony, but $250 is pretty good for a high quality speaker like this. I was expecting it to be like $400+
@@shoerice5083 You lost your credibility as soon as you started brand dropping. A JBL is no indicator of quality as is Sennheiser or Monster. The products differ from mediocre to good.
9:05 I can see this being used in short films where the actors can hear the music but also allows team to hear what its going to be like in post-production (if u were going to have that type of effect in video)
The mega bass probably didnt work as strong as it may on lower volumes, because it wouldnt have enough power to spit out more bass if it's already at max volume
Great speaker. The fact that Dan actually made me want to buy that speaker even though I don't need it shows how good he is at reviewing product. One of the best reviewer from the channel.
Has anyone looked at Ultimate Ears? At one point they were acquired by Logitech, but I really like their speakers and the pretty straight forward method of creating a "mesh network" of speakers. They've been able to do what this Sony does for years. Plus they can do like 150 speakers or something crazy like that.
Total garbage, their small speakers are a total wank, only loudness with no quality or bass, its a screaming speaker. Their big one (hyperboom) is ok compared to small ones, but still jbl kills them in every similar sized speaker.
The handle is a nice touch. My JBL Charge 5, while it sounds great, is just large enough to comfortable to hold. It's like trying to carry a football around. A handle like that would have been perfect.
Same with my Sony SRS XB43. Damn good sound without taking up too much space (probably as good as this speaker), but awkward to carry. Maybe it's time for me to upgrade to this... Ahh who am I kidding; I'm too poor.
I dunno...I DJ and regularly use filters and eq when I beatmatch...I'd say it's pretty much essential if you're not mixing tracks that are both DJ mix style and have bookend intros/outros.
"Mega bass" is not something you generally get in a refined audio product? Haha, no shit! Can't believe he said that with a straight face, I literally laughed out loud.
We had our portable speaker die last summer during a boating accident and we ended up grabbing the soundcore rave neo, and for 150$cad it actually kicks ass! The prices of all the others were quite pricey.
Wow it also shakes when mega bass is on, I love loudspeakers that move on their own due the power output of the sound, and this one has both, the side passive radiators and the whole speakers moves to the front to the back. Awesome
Flanger setting seems to be speed of the flange cycle, not effect amount. Isolator seems to be a bandpass filter. I imagine these are intended to be "performed" by yanking the settings around while playing music. Nice review. Dan is the best. I clicked the bell for Dan.
It would be great if you could review the Monoprice Soundstage3. By far the best sounding Bluetooth speaker I have used to date and my review is currently underway. It would be nice to compare notes if ya feel like doing your own review on it. But so far this Soundstage3 has really impressed me, I mean, sound is right there in it's name. Cheers 🍻
I really like his audio reviews it's good to hear someone giving this, who knows what he's talking about but is also down to the ground with the use cases without compromising completely on the quality
Is it bad that I get amped to hear a Dan video? His sense of humor cracks me up.... I never know whether he's gonna say... Oh wow that surprising not terrible! Or oh wow... That's a shit as I thought it was gonna be! Lol. His quiet humor is gold... Him on the phone..."Yeah I would never do this!" Lol.
