This just happened to me today and took me ages to find the blade. I am waiting to get a pin but using a paper clip for now. Do you know what size pin i should be buying or are they generic for all vw keys Great info vid

Hey mate it’s a Volkswagen pin with their part number if you stick it in on Google it will come up :)

Hi we have this very key design for my wife’s Polo (2015) but she’s snapped the flick out chrome square casing the key blade fits in. Do you know if it’s possible to order that so I can fit the square housing into the key fob and pop the key blade back in?

Unfortunately not a genuine part available for that you can get aftermarket key fobs that you can fit your internals and blade into

Blades you may be able to get cut if you have a spare key they can copy

I just noticed the pin sticking out and pushed it back in. The key is 8 years old. Should I replace the pin?

If you’ve pushed it back in your good to go they usually wander out it’s just a case of keeping an eye on it

That bit can’t be bought seperate but you are able to get a junk key and swap it from that

Just use a very small amount of metal gorilla glue. I was going through hoops and ladders with all this pin bs and just used the metal glue instead. It has never been more secure for only 4 dollars
