Star Wars was released when I was 5. Star Wars was my childhood. I'm 51 now & never once in my life did I ever watch A New Hope and say "I want a toy of that bar!"
🤣 I got you by a couple of years and watching spaghetti westerns and seeing the cowboy pop into the saloon does make me want a place like that for the rogue scoundrel Han Solo! That’s why I’d settle for a Couple of booths.
@@sci-fi.tsunami I’m 54 now and have my SW toys from 78 forward still in great shape with boxes too- anyhow I’ve always wanted a detailed cantina and thought the original one was never any good - the cantina is such an iconic location, it’s where our heroes meet up and we first see a lightsaber settle the score too 👍- thrilled I backed 1 deluxe to add to my collectible of every SW Haslab so far
I couldn't agree more Vern. FOMO It's 100% real. And I'm glad you put this video out, because that was truly what I was feeling. It's summertime, so I'm back on my annual spending freeze, but had considered backing this Haslab. Still hadn't made up my mind just yet, but I knew for certain that there's no way I would have room to display this in my current collection layout and that it would most likely just stay in the box, which would be a shame. Like you, when I saw this populated with vintage Kenner, it really did excite me though. Still a few days yet before this closes, and I have it 100% ruled it out, but I'm leaning towards not backing this time around. That said however, I do want this to succeed and would love to see a hit all the tiers too. If I decide to sit this one out, I sincerely hope that I won't regret it. 🤞
@@MoparMcNeer I just think that afterward I can always get the booth I want and not bother with the rest, even possibly pick up an exterior wall would be cool. Here’s to wishing for a successful haslab!
Great advice Vern! I ended up backing a base version today because I always said that if Hasbro were to make the Tonnika Sisters, I would get them. I know if this gets funded, that there will be Tonnika Sisters in the main line, but I figured I would do my part to get there. Still not 100% sure where I will put this (hell, I'm still trying to figure out where to put my Ghost when it shows up!)
@@MattsCollection I still have the razor crest in its box. I do admit that all the pieces look good, I wouldn’t be able to display it properly and that’s my biggest hold back.
Tonnika sisters & Wuher are not planned for mainline release as confirmed by Hasbro; only the other 3 tier figures are - if produced through this Haslab first meaning if they’re backed - so unless Hasbro changes their minds about this, years from now(?), the Tonnikas & Wuher figures on cards will remain Haslab excl. releases. I wouldn’t bet on Hasbro doing this - neither of these 3 are from the Vintage Kenner 96 lineup, as well.
@@Collector_Phil these announcements are true, I’m skeptical but believe that ultimately they will find a way to sell them.. maybe not as individuals but in a pack set.
@@Collector_Phil When the Razor Crest Haslab was announced they said that the only way you would be able to get a Mano with soft goods cape was by backing the Razor Crest. They re-released the Mando with Soft goods cape again with the Rescue Set, the Mando N-1 Starfighter and individually on a card. Hell, I'm going to have the entire Ghost crew ready to go when my Ghost arrives so all those nice mural cards will stay minty fresh! They will change the card backs, but they will re-release those figures and it will be announced after the campaign successfully ends.
@@VernRants It's a difficult piece to display. I managed to get her on a 12" shelf resting on the supplied display base. The detail on that thing is amazing! I'm looking forward to getting the Ghost, but have no clue on where I'm going to display it!
Down to less than 400 more backers to go to fund. Once it funds then it's all about unlocking the tiers. The FOMO will set in the moment it funds at 8k. I already backed the deluxe version the moment it was announced a month ago. I don't play that last minute FOMO game.
I have never suffered the strange mental illness of fomo ,i always get a toy i want and i have never wanted a haslab or crowdfund that is hundreds of dollars .
Hello there Vern, there is nothing to FOMO, but FOMO itself. There are no doubt 3D printers figuring out the exact dimensions of this Haslab Cantina as we speak. So if it doesn’t fund, they’ll make it come true. It sure looked sweet populated with original vintage Kenner Star Wars action figures. Not buying it. Totally worth it though.
If Jabba's Palace could go to Pulse I'm sure there's some way they could have split this up to sell on there as well but I guess the whole risk avoidance approach pushed them back into HasLab. I'm still a little tempted but there's no practical way I'm going to be able to display it to it's full potential and reselling parts or all is a bit too much hassle IMO. Anyway, bring on the Rattler...!
@@RedWagonDioramas I feel that a lot of folks end up getting something because they don’t want to miss out. I have heard people talking about having more stuff that they can’t even get to open. I am fingers crossed 🤞 for it getting backed.
@@lamarravery4094 my kids are cool going places and just snapping a cool pic. When I’m at the comic book store the only folks in there are older than 25…
I think if you're counting on picking up one of the pieces aftermarket you might as well back this because you'll be paying more for one piece than it's worth in the end. If you just back it for one piece, you can sell the rest and probably double your money, plus get the tonikka sisters.
If you don’t have Hasbro Pulse Already it costs even more. Shipping and taxes is an extra $83. If they wanted it to be $399.00 or $499.00 then that should be the total cost.
@@VernRants I didn’t realize Haslabs were excluded. Thanks for sharing. I’d be more likely to jump it if they removed that extra cost that’s already too high on top of just the basic backing.
@@GenX_Brian I have printed my own cantina chairs and tables with an ender pro3 for my black series. Super easy to print and they look great! (Free print file also)
@@VernRants I tend to agree, it funded, but it'll take a Hasbro miracle to get me on board... By that I mean Hasbro saying, "Hey, we are including the tiers". Then You'd see a surge in customers then
