For those who want to know why is Hatsune Miku the most popular Vocaloid. is because of the song Melt by producer Supercell, it was so popular it was in the top 10 songs in Japan. Legit, there was a time in Japan you couldn't go a day without hearing it on the radio. It was so popular because it redefined Vocaloid in the public eye, and showed so much emotion in the voice that no one thought a virtual singer could have.
It's funny that the producer is Supercell since there is also a company called Supercell which makes games like Clash Royale and Clash Of Clans and Brawl Stars
I'm calling cap on that, dawg. It's just because she has the most distinctive design. It checks off so many things, and her voice is pleasant. There's a huge reason why Miku is probably the character who has the most anime figurines - beating even Saber and Asuka, and it's not ultimately because of the songs people make with her.
@@lintea_ the producer is ryo who is also known as supercell because thats the name of the band he is in, I believe. You’re right that the album is also named supercell though!
@@_toulouse it used to be alot about the artists starting off and alot of the most popular songs and music artists are miku/Saki Fujita simps because of her voice and partly design, so hes not entirely wrong. If you look at the most subed artists, almost a majority of them use miku 90% of the time
It’s kinda funny how here, despite showing his face, he has to keep up this “professor” character while in the other channel he can just chill and be himself
@@lorrainebrunner2490 I’ve recently found out the connection, well, the reverse way. All I can say is, he’s really magnificent. Magnetic even. Really can magnify every little detail. The sheer magnitude of him is just magazine worthy. His magniloquent way of speaking is just magic.
@@Z.A.D.D. Is his pfp magenta? That sounds majestic. 👌 The magnanimous conclusion here is, don't make a magnumopus or mere and dear to you, will be a moronic magnum-sized magpie, of magnificent metallic mediums. Meaning, more meats will moan with meaning than other wise... How mental, am I right...? (Btw idek what "magniloquent" means, but good on you for it. ;) Also that doesn't help me with the name of the second channel name.
I knew it was too good to be true that some rando would be that based. That debut first impression went well… a little too well almost as if he was use to giving presentations 🤔 Congrats on the job and we are rooting for you prof!
The thing that I love the most about vocaloid is the variety there is when it comes to creators and genres, you can have super happy chill songs, and then there are people like Maretu or Kikuo who make some of the darkest songs there are. Also there are a lot of memes and covers that are pretty funny imo.
Yes I agree very much I especially like kikuos songs because he makes dark stuff not so dark of you know what I mean like let's go to heaven it's about a couple of lovers they die together and are happy dieing together it's just so beautiful
Thanks to you professor, I’m feeling confident on this upcoming semester final! Looking forward to my next semester and got some school swag that I can’t wait to sport 😎
Fun fact, Miku and all the other Crypton "vocaloids" are no longer Vocaloids officially because Crypton wanted to keep their voices sounding a bit artificial where Yamaha (the creators of Vocaloid) wanted to continue developing Vocaloid into more and more realistic voice synthesis platform. However both companies still collaborate on voice synthesis R&D.
This is an okay explanation but it can be simplified yall. Hatsune miku is just one of many vocaloid singers. Vocaloid is just text-to-singing software with singers that are personified with usually anime avatars. Different companies around the world have their own vocaloid singer products in ome of 5 different languages (some bilingual). Vocaloid and Miku became popular cause Miku was personified as a character instead of just a product
Good to note that Miku, Rin, and Len’s voices were provided by voice actors rather than singers, and their samples I believe were spoken instead of sung in comparison to other vocaloids
@@precursor777 yes but they voiced their samples differently compared to, say, Meiko, Kaito, and Luka’s samples, who were voiced (sung!) by _professional singers_
@@ThatHawksSimp Do you have proof of that cuz I don't see why Saki Fujita or Asami Shimoda wouldn't have sung their samples when they are also singers and can voice act while singing
Odds and Ends is one of the best songs to explain why people use Virtual Singers. It basically tells the story of how ryo, a popular producer, couldn't voice out their feelings properly through song, then they started using Miku's voice to express their feelings. It somehow makes a disembodied group of syllables to express emotions.
@@venomark7883 wait, he is him????? Fr fr???? I came take a look at professor's chanel since I have not seem stuff from them pop up on my recommended since this vid, I never connected the dots :0 I'm a bit mad at myself for not realizing, lol
What a magnificent video. You really magnified my knowledge of Hatsune Miku. I've seen magazines about her but I didn't know who she was. Her appeal is very magnetic.
It feels wrong to try to explain Miku without even talking about her voice provider, Saki Fujita, because a LOT of people think that these Vocaloids (or Virtual Singers) are 100% synthesized voices. Every one of them had their own different voice providers, and it's the reason they sound different.
I like how this explanation of Miku is different than those older videos. Example is the whole "Hatsunay Meekoo is a *Digital diva/popstar from Japan desu!!!!!" but you explained the whole meaning of the Vocaloid synthesizer, which is pleasing enough
@@AidanS99 but it takes the phoenix and the reaper several months to comeback on their old channel after their debut... some only upload 1 video since their debut like the nature one,,, or never come back to their old channel like the shark one because she is embarrassed of her past career or the owl one because her channel is pretty much dead.
@@AngellishV I know she's active even the phoenix one is more active than reaper before... I'm talking about the majority... streaming in two personas like the reaper or creating vlogs like the phoenix one is much easier than creating videos (like in this channel) because videos like in this channel take a lot of time to do than just streaming or vlogging and this type of video have low returns,
I still can't believe such a famous Idol not only has her huge musical career and animation software, but is also the creative mind behind both Harry Potter AND Minecraft. Truly one of the most influential minds of a generation.
I think you mean he was ”a commercial failure” which means that his voicebank didn't sell enough to bring enough profit to the company when he released. His V3 however, was more sucessfull.
Remember to be respectful of Lando and his future endeavors. Don't bring them up here, and don't bring him up there. Although judging by the comments, people won't do that, and it's disappointing.
That taboo is proving to be more and more irrelevant as western vtubing continues to grow. That was really only necessary for the Vtubers from an Asian country of origin due to the more extremist side of idol culture. For western vtubing, idol culture is more of a meme.
What is so funny, is that normally I watch these with the idea that he is explaining a meme or some sort of culture as a joke. But I felt that I was really being taught about something I didn't know LOL
