Ya man iam really liking that set up, and those cleets you put on worked like a champ, dozer tracks grabed em just like intended and kept it from slipping, awsome job on the trailer...... looks like your gonna have to shave several inches to get water to fall away from that side, gonna be tricky, I look forward seeing how she turns out, gas should be almost 2 feet, not sure on the sewer stuff.... good luck, thanks for the videos 😁
Appreciate you bro. The dozer loaded very well. I'm gonna weld some cleats to the ramps after watching the video. The church video will be out soon. Didn't have much to work with
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼…………………………………………………………………………….Those cleats you put on the trailer work like a charm. I thought they might get ripped off, but they worked perfectly. The transmission in your truck makes a big difference. I test drove a regular cab 3500 with that transmission (of course I drove it like I stole it) since my wife rode with me in the regular cab , the salesman sat that ride out. I couldn’t believe the difference. At that time Ram offered a manual and two different automatics and I test drove all three. I wanted a manual, so that’s what I bought, but the Aisin transmission made a world of difference.
@KennysTreeRemoval thanks buddy. I believe they're 35's. If not it's the size right under. All I did was put a 2.5" leveling kit on the front. And it needed spacers for the rear tires. Not very much though. I think 1.5 or 2".
I really like that truck. Those grommets work great. I always hate loading a dozer on a trailer that didn't have them. And yes I've slid off a couple of times. Nothing like riding a D6D or D8H as there sliding off the side of a trailer.😂 It doesn't take much moisture especially frost to make your butt cheeks to get real tight. I thought you would let Jimmy load his dozer. 🤣 Truck and trailer looks good together. Has Sam tried to buy the trailer yet.😂 Can't wait to see how the Church drainage goes but it's some nice weather right now. Hopefully you can get finished before the rain comes. Y'all Be Safe Out There Buddy!
Thanks Jim. Yeah the cleats worked great. I'm gonna weld some more on the ramps. After watching the video, I could see the dozer slipping a little until it reached the dovetail. Sam gonna pay extra for this trailer! 🤣
Man that truck and trailer looks so goo together empty and loaded. I know you will figure out how to get the weight right so the truck and trailer is happy. Looks like maybe a interesting job here with all the unknowns under ground. I can see as well why the church is flooding. You got this brother. Wish you the best of luck.
I think your truck looks great with that dozer behind it! I was thinking the dozer was too far forward. Actually the dozer is probably in the right spot but the axles are too far back for a gooseneck. Doesn’t really matter, that truck and trailer look great!!! I’m pretty sure the truck does some modulation with the trailer brakes. New brakes usually adjust up a lot tighter after a good load on the trailer and they seem to grip the drum a lot better after some heat. I was glad the brakes just needed adjusting to get them working enough. Looking forward to the T-shirts!
Thanks brother. I think it would be great if the trailer axles were about a foot closer to the truck. They are a little far back. I was worried about the brakes at first. Thought I wasted my money lol. But after some heat they started grabbing. I finally hit 5k subs. But I need you to email me.
@@smithworx1091 I was thinking the same thing, about a foot forward would be perfect. I wish I could’ve been there to help with the trailer. That’s awesome that you hit 5k subscribers!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Where do I find your email?
@@smithworx1091 I’ll have to check it out on the computer, it doesn’t show up on the app. I’d sign in on my phones browser but it wants all this crazy unknown information like username and password 🤪
Thank you for the knowledge. . Just a suggestion if you put those little clicks on your ramp. I think that might help you a little bit like you did on the dovetail
The old goat pulls like a champ it seems like. Also, since you were going over all the weight stuff, make sure the weight rating on the tires is sufficient to cover the weight of the load. Nobody wants to have the DOT guy sitting behind them on the side of the road.
The tires are 35x12x17. From what I understand about the wide load and flags, it's 12ft and over. The blade is 10ft. But I think I'm gonna put flags on it from now on. It sticks out a good bit
@@smithworx1091I love my dodges for towing but this one’s left a bad taste in my mouth. Guess I’ll be ordering a new f450 next year if everything goes right
Just for conversation, that dozer on that trailer would raise some DOT eyebrows up here in PA. Even if legal width is 102", that blade is too far past the edge of the trailer. I bet your trailer is 96" wide. I have a similar dozer, blade is 124", fully angled on a trailer is right at legal width of 102", but up here the DOT can still issue a citation for being wider than the extent of the trailer without the proper permit....
I've worried about the blade. From what I've read and understand (which I'm sure I'm wrong) is anything 12' needs flags and a permit. This blade is 10ft. Next time I haul it, I'm gonna put flags on it.
I’ve heard some of the craziest things about PennDOT, especially on the turnpike! I see why they are so fine happy up there with billions of miles of roads to maintain 😂
It's my understanding that maximum width is 102", 8'-6" everywhere based on the FMCSA. These LGP dozers are too wide to fit properly on a 102" trailer, even loaded at a slight angle with the blade turned. A permit is required in PA for cargo over this width. But I haul it anyway! I agree, the DOT have many different interpretations on the same laws. But cargo cannot legally extend that far past the width of the trailer. Good idea about the flags. @@PurpleNovember
@@smithworx1091 my little kx 040 moves my F 250 a good bit, was told that it will tear up the transmission if it happens repeatedly. I chock my trailer tires now, just for peace of mind and hope it helps.
@@tonymiles3106You are correct. It’s hard on the parking pawl in the transmission. That’s why the vehicle should be completely stopped and parking brake used when shifting into park. The newer transmissions are better for not having parking pawls snap but I still cringe every time I see a vehicle do that telltale little rock back and forth.
@brucegay4847 lol. Bro look closely. Each tire is like a dually. There's another tire on the inside of the trailer. Each has its own axle connecting 2 tires together. There's 8 tires on the trailer. I also have a video of restoring the trailer that shows how it's made.
My 11, dually cab and chassis brake control is worthless at 10. Run it on 5/6 on controller pulling my 20 ft 8000lbs axles with 20 moma cows will lockem up. Nobody can figure it out.
