Didn’t mean to ignore the 55 in my Corvette whuppin comment. I am one of those people that connect with cars like that! They have a life and a story. There’s no better way to be close and reminded of Loved ones, or remembering specific days and times than looking a 50’s or 60’s Chevys. Just bought a 53 2DrHT BelAir to build. That cars worth to me is that it takes me back in time. I’m a USMC, Vietnam Era Veteran, so I’m a Baby Boomer, and an old timer now. Just thought I’d share that short story. Take Care, Beautiful Machine!
Awesome car and story!! Thanks for your great episodes! I met "Stevie D" just over a week ago at the Sandy Utah, Autorama. I'm still on cloud 9 after a trip to Arizona and making it home in time to meet my favorite car dude!! I was nervous he'd want to keep his distance with all the coronavirus but when he heard I drove back 10 hours to be there to meet him, he reached over the table and gave me a big hug!! My best day ever 🥰
Each year I must make a sacred pilgrimage here to check out this fantastic, baddest, and most sinister 55' in all Eternity. Coolest ever: @18:55-19:37. Still can't believe that sublime paint job.
I would love to find a late-50s Cadillac hearse and do this to it. The paint, the blacked-out chrome accents, the drive train, the interior...man, that would be one sinister ride!!! Always loved the haunted rod!!
If this car came off of Spawn Ranch, my grandfather shot a movie called The Creeping Terror around 1963-64 on Spawn Ranch. The movie had the idea behind it but the producer Art Nelson was a con, made false promises to the staff and then took everyone’s money and bailed from Los Angeles to Kansas I believe. Unlucky for him, my grandfather grew up in that area of the country so it wasn’t too long before he was found by somebody. Anyway, maybe my grandfather drove this car at one time if from Spawn Ranch.
A little late to the game as far as when this was “aired” but, I’m right there with you with spirits. I, too, inhabit a place with them. It’s been amicable for the past 24 yrs. I miss the “build” shows but understand the BS and overwhelming pressures of such an endeavor. Glad I’m able to catch up a bit. Retired member of the Union Ironworkers I am. And an old time gearhead. Be way cool to visit. Best wishes my friend Always
I absolutely love this 55 brother one of my all-time favorites is this one right here has one of the baddest Motors in the world and it sounds amazing the haunted 55❤💪🏽💪🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😎👊🏽
Nice video Steve. Loved checking out all your rides and your shop last Saturday. My wife even thought it was cool. Remember the short little blonde? Thanks brother!👍
I remember that show and I believe that Joe said it creeped him out and he always felt like he was being watched when he was around it. That's basically a Vette engine. Caddy dealers marketed the CTSV as a luxurious Corvette.
Definitely want to get out there to Vegas to see all your joy toys. Yes, there's definitely spirits out and about around each one of wherever we live and travel. Keep up with your passion.
This car is badass, would love to see it in person! Been watching your vids for a while, just signed up to be notified about your welding class also, keep up the badass work 👍✌️
Once again another BADD ASS RIDE!!!! Loved the story!!! Laughed my ass when you said you want to mess with folks on earth after you die before you go to Heaven!!! KEEP THESE VIDEOS COMING I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!
Damn that's a bad ASS CAR love the paint job on it. Reminds me of the paint jobs we did on hand rails back in the early 2000's we paint a bronze or a black base coat let it dry then spray water on it, then spray over the water with a water base paint as it runs down it gave it that look of 100 year old rusting away paint. The funny thing would be this is what we would put in multi million dollar homes on the beach.
My Buddy Scott got a '55 Chevy late '70's when we were in high school. Seeing your '55 brought back memories. When we were putting a T-Bird leather interior in it, we got the driver's seat bolted down. It took way longer than we figured. We wanted to go cruising, so we said fuck it, we jammed a milk crate into the passenger side and headed to the strip. Every time he shifted into second year, I'd end up where the back seat should have been. After the second or third time it got less funny for me, but being a wise guy, my friend would power shift it anyway every once in awhile. We had so much fun with that car, and my '69 Camaro. They only had mild 350's in them, and today's cars would kill them in a race , but they were pretty fast in their day. My Buddy still has that '55, but it needs a total restoration. I don't have my Camaros anymore, but I still have a 350 from that car. Cars are such great memory makers. Another great video Steve. Thank you for sharing your car and a great Taco stop. Cape Cod, MA
My dad says the same thing, he had a 57 Chevy 2dr hard top blue, he said it was just a normal car back then, they traded it in on another car, he says at that time you didn't know they were going to be a collector car!
Thanks for sharing Steve! You’ve got me into cars and rat rods. I’m 16 now with a small block ford currently wanting to find an older car and make it a rat. Hope to meet you one day and tour the shop! Love all the badass shit you build!
Thanks Nathan, building your own creation can be very rewarding. Let you imagination go wild, every piece of junk becomes a potential important part of your Rat Rod. You will never look at junk the same. It can keep you awake at night. So build that Rat and have a good time doing it.
Love the 55'! I think I'd have spared the wing windows but I wouldn't kick it out of bed, haunted or not! Nice job! Wished I would have looked that good at 65 years old!
Haunted Rod is my favorite. During the Vegas Rat Rod show, you and the boys pick parts at a car boneyard at night. Y'all climb into what looks like a parts van/truck. There on the shelf are a couple of boxes marked "CF&I". My Father was the salesman who sold that product out of New Jersey. Route 66 out of Chicago all the way. He used the company car to move his family to Malibu, CA -- but -- to justify the millage he would stop and do his sales pitch. There you are, off of Rt. 66 in Arizona. Can you imagine my "ghost shock", watching your Ghost/Haunted build show?? Like a punch in the face!
@@WelderUpVegas I still have a couple of finger nail clippers with the CF&I logo. Dad handed them out to everyone he pitched. I need to take your tour and get a photo of me/you and that Haunted Rod. (on my to-do list)
You ROCK Steve I live in Las Vegas , love the show and your shop also got the opportunity to meet ya once pretty cool man you are straight up and I appreciate you and the guys that work there ! 😎
Good lord my buddies 55 bagged cammed 5.3 ls1 intake sitting on 20s looks good but man that is one badass ride .working on a lsa supercharger for his 5.3 fun cars head Turners for sure .miss your show bro
It's a beautiful car y'all did a great job and I love the story behind the story where you want to mess with some folks before you go to heaven what a great ride keep them coming you're doing a great job
Nice 360 at the end! I like the Cadillac engine and air suspension. There are still cars out there hidden away in chicken coops and covered in feathers.
Had to comment again I was watching this a second time you are in the parking lot talking and it feels like the head lights are looking at you its freaking no I haven't eaten some bad or drank one 2 many something special is lurking deep inside. Boss this ride deserves a modern day movie of its life!
I love your attention to detail with everything you've built cause you don't see the things you do anywhere and that's what makes everything you build stand out from the other builds that people do..If I wasn't so poor I would love to have you to build me something that I could just turn you loose with and flip me out when it's done. I'd want a daily driver that's not over the top with horsepower, just something dependable to go anywhere I'd want to go without a bunch of computerized stuff..It's just a dream I've had but I never know what the next day and the good Lord above has in store..I love gas engines but I keep wanting some kinda diesel truck that's not to new. I'm mostly into the older stuff cause that's what I learned about mechanics on cause the newer stuff is waaaaay outside my knowledge level lol...I almost 4got, that's the coolest 55 Chevy I've set eyes on in all of my 65yrs..It's most definitely 1 of a kind and that's how I like em, I've always been into vehicle's that's nothing like others build from bumper to bumper and that's most definitely waaaaay different and cool...
Epic .. you are so real !..Just greatness !.. My favorite chevy is a 55 55 Bel Air.. I'm a ford guy .. 56 fairlane gasser with a big block is what I always wanted ... but after seeing ur 55 .. with the Cadillac engine .. now I'm thinkin . . I luved seein you spank a new vette . . Then ask the guy to go have tacos with you .. . Brrhahaha 🤣That is totally sick! .. I luv ur energy and passion for everything you do .. keep up the work man ... love watchin you enjoying being a bad ass car artist ... absolute Greatness!
@@WelderUpVegas ohhhhh yaaaa .. definitely want to see that ! ... sounds like ... victory ! I'm subscribed to your channel cause I luv your passion for mean machines ... do you have a vid of that machine? Send me a link for sur ... hellll yaaa ... I luv the way you just tell it as it is ... and build what u build because .. you are that damn good 🤙 never give up or give in!
That is one sweet ass ride. I love the story behind it gives it some character. I’ll be in Vegas in July and October so one of these times I’ll stop by the shop and check things out
Around :20 when it was fast forwarding I seen the yellow Corvette trying to race you! Every time I take my Corvette out someone wants some! I give it to em, I’m 53 years old! 😏
