+Angela Howard Eh. Red Dwarf is so full of holes, contradictions, and retconning it's a joke to take the plot seriously. It's a comedy show! Enjoy it for the jokes.
@@HolyKhaaaaan yes but kryten straight up tells lister in the season before this that he erased his vocabulary on things relating to women like lingerie. It’s not too out of the ordinary to assume that periods were erased too.
Yes, it's not just a funny mask, he's a really good actor. I noticed that more when he played the human Kryten in "DNA". He really makes you believe he's a robot.
I think maybe a lot of people took Rimmer's absence out on Kochansky. Series 7 was definitely my least favorite because he was gone -- not because she arrived. I think she's rather funny actually. And how do you replace Chris Barrie? They had to have him do guest cameos in over half the episodes that year. That's why series 8, with the five of them together, was amazing. Still, I would have killed for a series with Lister, Kochansky, Rimmer, Kryten and the Cat alone on Red Dwarf.
Thechezbailey she wasn't nessicarly bad. But she wasn't rimmer, and she ruined one of the major premises of the show was MEN alone on space. It was fine with Hatty haydrige, but this just ruined the whole show.
I agree that popular franchises are ruined by replacing men with women (Ghostbusters 2016 being a prime example). But I've always thought Red Dwarf benefited from _some_ female presence, and a bit of beauty. I like having Chloe Annett on the show, just so long as the boys are the main characters.
Series 8 was amazing? If you say so. I’m not going to knock your opinion, but when you state a view that’s so unpopular as fact, it kinda comes off as oblivious. Not that that’s a bad thing, but it can attract controversy.
@@Scripture-Man I think ghostbusters 2016 was bad because it was unimaginative stereotypical lazy US racist humour trash. It would have been trash no matter who played the parts. At least from what I remember.
She had some pretty good parts but after years of people getting to like seeing rimmer it isn't a surprise that the change wasn't as liked as it would have been if say he were replaced 5mins into the first episode.

Yeah, well Kochanski is stupidly mean and moody in this! I don’t know why she had to be so hostile to the others all the time. She’s got no sense of humour. I don’t know why Dave likes her so much.
Incidentally I seem to recall in the Smeg-Ups videos had Kryten answering fan mail pointing out continuity errors by basically telling fans to get a life.
Kryten is awesomely hilarious! He has no idea how to treat women no matter what time of the month it is.....remember when he tried to iron Kochanski's bras? He put the "compartments" over his head and ironed them....she later asked him why all her bras came back from the wash shaped funny. Anyway, he's a smeggin riot!

I'm sure this was explained in series 7 when Kryten said he'd erased those files because he didn't think he'd need them any more. What bothers me more is how Kochanski is suddenly an ex-girlfriend and a time drive can suddenly travel faster than light etc.
From what I remember this Kochanski was from a reality where Lister wasn't a slob, Rimmer was brave and Kryten wasn't an idiot. She and the other Lister were in a relationship and she wants to get back to her reality.

@Epiczz3010 Adverts generally use blue liquid when showing the absorbency of products. Especially when it comes to bodily fluids. Gives off a hospital/sciencey-type vibe.
@madwalrus I think the problem with series 8 in particular was its lack of sci-fi Red Dwarf passionately has, and it being pure sitcom. Doesn't mean it shouldn't have been made! lol
