Tony Slattery makes me laugh as the dispensing machine. Infact both of them play off each other really well. Fantastic little scene which shows the awesomeness of Red Dwarf!

I would say the same if a cold drinks dispenser had a life. What would it do? Leave a horse's head made out of Coke cans in my bed. Oh no, help help. I'm really scared! HA! I don't see that happening anytime soon. 🤣

The real question here is how incompetent of a vending repair man do you have to be to not know how to avoid or disable that feature. To be perfectly honest considering it was his job to restock and maintain the vending machines with zed shifts most important task being to make sure the dispensing units didn't run out of fun sized crunchy bars I am surprised Rimmer doesn't have a spare key just to rip them off. I would also think he would know how to reset the memory to erase things like this, because honestly who wants a vending machine giving you attitude about how often you buy your favorite snack? (seeing as how it recognizes voices)
These ones are probably more advanced, and as such, out of his pay bracket, considering how close they are to the Captain's Quarters. Probably Y Shift's job or something.
