Living in China it would be impossible to view such content if it wasn't for VivaHD and the likes of... Thank you for taking the time to upload these videos; your efforts are much appreciated. Only a few more months and I'll watch them as they're aired.
@@badbadrobotrobot959 I live in China too. Currently, it's mostly better being there than in the UK. But that isn't saying very much. Also, there's a thing called VPN. How do you think trolling Chinese diplomats and the like get on twitter etc.
@@badbadrobotrobot959 I'm from the UK you mong. You will be hard pressed at finding someone more critical of China than me. But unlike most people I try not to be bias. The fact is right now it's better being in China whilst the pandemic rages on in the UK. What you think I should return to the UK, with no job market and rent a house, whilst being quarantined? Yeah good one. The things which make the UK superior are currently not available. Thus, being in China currently is better, on a very base level. You don't even know about VPN's so I can assume you don't really know very much about this.
this has become a weekend tradition over here across the pond (thanks for the upload) a refreshing break from the chewed, strained and regurgitated news we get over here
Martin Clunes is one of the few guest hosts who is great even when he's terrible. Steph McGovern was probably thinking "Give the cards here. I'll do it."
I also have to add, aside from Reginald D Hunter, David Mitchell & his wife Victoria Coren Mitchell, Jo Brand, Andy Hamilton, Stephen Mangan & the Reverend Richard Coles not being there, this is one of my favorite lineups. Martin Clunes was brilliant when he first appeared on this show many many years ago and he's just gotten better. Armando and Steph are also brilliant. Thanks Viva for bringing us light, life and joy!!! 🥰🥰🥰
it's either Xmas or my Birthday every day when ViVaHD posts the mosts !! The Most Best Viewing on Youtey ! Thanks ViVaHD May all your Xmas Wishes come true every day of the year. !!
I've been in construction my entire life and that Christmas tree is the saddest thing I have seen in a while . Nobody thought to get a few painters extension poles and put those strings of lights up a little higher ... I mean I know health and safety is an issue but it sounds like common sense might be an issue too 🤔😂 *I mean they could have just laid it on its side wrapped it in lights and then stood it back up . For mercy sake 😂😂😂
I’ll just reiterate, as briefly as possible, my sentiment from the shorter video. Ahem. Steph!!!! McGoverrrrrrrnnnn!! There. That struck a dignified (and balanced) tone, right…?
@@ricwhite612 Did you read Putin's little essay on that topic? I thought it was adorable, like something a proud parent would put on their refrigerator. 😛
Raab said recently that scientists deal in assumptions whereas he deals in FACTS! Because empirical data arent facts of course, and politicians can always be trusted. Even when they know nothing about science. Him with his only education being in law.
In the US, "...Section 41 makes it a criminal offence to take a photograph or make a sketch of a judge, juror, witness or party in a case. Instead, artists have only been allowed to make notes during hearings." (The Guardian)
Are you familiar with the Rankin Bass animated Christmas special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer? I don't know why I've never seen the comparison made, bur Boris is a Bumble! He looks just like him - the Abominable Snow Monster!
Martin Clunes looks like a German scientist calmly explaining his new invention that will revolutionize the way penguin semen is collected. I like him. I think he's funny, but he's got that look.
Look at Putin now and his actions regarding Ukraine (plus the Baltic states) and the Western democracies' reactions thus far and then think back to 1937/38/39 and 1940 and Hitler's actions in those years - and the Western democracies actions then'. Then think of what followed. It looks like history is repeating itself.
Exactly. Europe is once again uniting itself behind a Nazi leader and deciding to strangle Russia. Didnt work last time, euroscum, wont work this time either.
I'd like to point out an important difference, one that wasn't clear yet when you first posted your comment. When Hitler began invading and annexing other countries, the rest of the world stood by. He was also careful to invade only those countries who stood no chance of defending themselves. (We can argue about France.) So far we've done a good job of preventing the next world war, but I'm sorry to say US resolve is weakening. One similarity that remains is foreign support in terms of materiel and money, then from the US to the UK, now from the Western world to Ukraine. The UK fought bravely, as the Ukrainians are doing now. The UK was not defeated. The Ukrainians also have a powerful wartime leader and a ferocious resolve to fight off their aggressor, whatever the cost may be. Like the Brits during the blitz, they are standing alone and holding their own. They just need support.
It's a working class accent. The wonderful thing happening in Britain is they're working to fight the stigma of regional accents, including London cockney. You can hear all kinds of regional accents now on the BBC. You'd never hear a Boston working class accent on major network news in the US. (Too many F-bombs.)
I have just read BBC plans to replace Ian Hislop and Paul Merton = tell me it isn't true= have they gone completely mad or what - BBC I mean. I am distressed
@@ninja2388 Yes, women are lovely, until they cackle. I cannot abide it when they cackle. The other day I met a lovely woman - penetrating green eyes and long, wavy blonde hair. She seemed quite cheerful, pretty smile, and alarmingly intelligent. Then, without warning, she cackled. I thought to myself, this is the last straw! When a woman cackles, it's enough to put me right off. Like you, I now prefer the company of men, who never cackle. Men have self-control. They stand tall and firm, they are rigid and upright (the good ones), and they never, never cackle.
They’re not wrong sadly. I didn’t hear about the Russian invasion until countries started going “they wouldn’t actually do it, would they?”. By that time it was far too late. On the upside, Ukraine really played their hand correctly by appealing to the masses via memes.
Yes ! Memes are the answer to every trouble in life ! Not sound economic policy, not sane foreign diplomacy, not getting rid of Nazis in power, no. Memes solve everything. See how well they worked for Ukraine. If only every nation was as smart and progressive as Ukraine, why, we could live in Fourth Reich by now !
Unfortunately Russia's long game seems to be more effective than it once appeared. Our Republican members of Congress want to tie further aid to Ukraine to border security, something that's completely unrelated (though currently a valid concern) and far less important to US security than stopping Russia, and it was Biden's idea. Russia can keep this up indefinitely if we don't support Ukraine. Congrats to the UK for their recent support. At least someone's doing something. For once there's a war that we don't have to fight ourselves because the Ukranians are more than willing to do it themselves, and they're incredibly good at it. All we need to do is support them with money and materiel. That's the easy part, but it was only a matter of time before our political extremists found a way to turn something that nearly all Americans supported (Ukraine's defense) into another reason to squabble like schoolchildren while people are starving, freezing, and dying. (Don't even get me started on Gaza...) It's a frustrating and scary time to be an American. Our greatest threats for the past decade or two have come from within.
@@peterporkeresq.2817 If I understand what happened, yeah, the race director botched it in this case, but I would rather watch races that are inherently competitive. F1 wasn't competitive when I lost interest in 2018, and nothing I've heard since then has convinced me they've changed. Last time I watched a race there were only two teams that had a chance of winning the race, let alone the championship. Two teams competed while everybody else ran laps, hoping those two teams would take each other out. It might be generally fair if you define "fair" as everybody following the current rules, but it's hardly competitive. They even took away the relevance of a good pit crew. They used to be part of a winning team, but now all they can do is screw it up. They can't give an advantage with a fantastic pit stop because there is hardly any time difference between perfection and mere competence. If a fast car is a bit behind at the start, the races are too short to catch up or for any meaningful strategy. Where's the competition? Sorry to vent like this, but it's why I got sick of F1. It became more boring and ego-driven than NASCAR. And like NASCAR, all I hear from fans are complaints about little things because that's all there is in F1 - little things that can ruin someone's race and the correct badge required to win the race.
@@beenaplumber8379 A 55 lap race wasn't exciting for 53 laps, it's the extra illegal lap out of a season of hundreds of lap that finally made the season exciting, and in the process shafted a competitor from a record making 8th world championship.

I hope Musk is not in charge of stocking the mission to Mars ... there were 7 PAIR of all clean animals on the arc, not just 2! Did he forget or just failed to do research? I also hope he is not considering bringing all types of animals. Mammals are animals and whales are mammals - where would he put there sea/lake/pond?
