Looks delicious! Sorry to hear about your allergy, that's a shame that you can't taste it. Allergies can be so weird. When me and my cousin were little, she was allergic to cats and I wasn't, then one year we switched at the same time. I became allergic to cats and she lost her allergy. It's stayed like that ever since. 🤷♂
So sorry to hear about your shrimp allergies!! Same happened to me. You can just substitute shrimp for other seafood. Octopus, squid, crab, and clams make amazing substitutes!!!
I have a question about oregano if anyone knows. I've searched on Google the difference between oregano (as I know it in the US) and "Mexican" oregano, and I know they differ. Mexican oregano is more grassy with citrus notes, from what I've read. My question is, would Claudia use oregano in place of Mexican oregano (if she didn't have access to it), or would she not use US oregano at all? Is there an alternate? I live in NY and I've never seen Mexican oregano. So whenever it's mentioned, I kind of shy away from the dishes that call for it.
It sounds sucky not being able to eat something you like to eat... I have an allergic reaction to penicillin. It seems like I can't take anything with "cillin" too. My mom has the same thing.
I am also allergic to penicillin since I was 12 y.o. I don't break out in a rash, nor feel my throat tighten. My breathing and heart stop! It was not a pleasant experience bringing me back, but I'm grateful they did. Years later, another doctor said I might not be allergic anymore, and proceeded to inject me he said, "alittle like a TB test" on my forearm. I immediately felt nauseous and dizzy, then passed out! Never will I allow any family of penicillin near me in any form again. So please be careful.

Claudia, I became allergic to avocados after being able to eat them for 50 years!! What the bell?? I got welts in my mouth and lips. So weird!! I’m craving a good Mexican shrimp cocktail right now. Might have to make one! But no avocados!!

Sorry to hear that you just became allergic to shell fish , shrimp , scallops ect. Hopefully you aren't allergic to all of them . My sister is allergic to shrimp but she can have fish and a few others. I do have a question is that first batch of raw shrimp , is it still raw or does the lemon and lime juice somehow cook it ? I didn't think that you could eat raw shrimp .😮
