Naruto even says right after this that he's improved at senjutsu. This isn't even the first time he's gone into sage mid-conversation. He first did it against Obito when he was the Ten Tails Jinchuriki. This is in fact how it works.
@@MatsYoo Yeah. Sometimes I thought that Shikamaru was an underrated character as a loyal friend and supporter of Naruto. He was way more better than Sasuke as Naruto’s loyal friend in my POV. He was always ready to help and support the Naruto without any hesitation. He didn’t even accept the seat of Hokage as he knows that Naruto was alive and come back to take his seat and duty back. Bcz Shikamaru knows how much Naruto struggled to accomplish his dream as a Hokage.

He hasnt had to suppress kurama since he unlocked KCM2 in the war arc. His chakra levels are way worse now due to him using baryon mode erasing half his base chakra

Shikamaru has been Naruto and Choji’s most loyal friends since day one. He was the first to befriend them both after they were being teased and separated among their peers.
I don't think Shikamaru was referring to whether he would get his ass whooped by Naruto or not.... Kurama provided Naruto with insane healing speed and other amps... If he were to get into a fight using his usual style, he would not survive like he use to.
I feel like there are still some people who think Naruto is just “weak” now. Don’t get me wrong he definitely lost a lot of power when he lost Kurama but sage mode is still pretty strong depending on how you use it. He still has a higher chakra volume than most shinobi and multiple jutsu under his belt. I’d say he’s still pretty strong!

He might be weaker, but that does not mean Naruto is a weakling. Naruto was able to fight Pain with only sage mode and that was much weaker and less experienced than adult Naruto, who has likely trained over the years since the last great war.
It's a little weird. In Shikamaru hiden, they say you need the power of all the tailed beasts. But then again, I'm pretty sure both Hamura and Toneri used six paths senjutsu without being jinchuriki at any point.

@@therealzacrich Naruto's SO6P is a kind of senjutsu, and as we know from Naruto, the 10 tails is just an amalgamation of nature energy. Kaguya herself is said to have used the 10 tails but wasn't a jinchuriki (Never absorbed the god tree and *became* the ten tails until fighting her sons long after their birth), unlike Hagoromo. That's how he became aware of nature energy's existence (Hagoromo learning toad sage mode isn't cannon) and using nature energy from the 10 tails inside him he didn't need to gather it from around him. So Hamura didn't get it from Kaguya because she was never a sage, nor able to use nature energy. But it was six paths senjutsu, same as Hagoromo, which Toneri seemingly replicated by using the Tenseigan. The other Otsutsuki, like Kaguya (Kinshiki, Isshiki, Momoshiki, technically Urashiki) can fly as an innate ability from having so much chakra, none of them utilize nature energy as Naruto's 6 paths senjutsu did.
Naruto is either able to gather, mould and control Nature Energy whilst talking and turning his head or in the 2secs after Hima asked him a question to when he answered. Both are incredible feats and shows you how much Naruto adapted to losing Kurama already
He has far more chakra under control without kurama. With kurama naruto has 4 times kakashi sensei chakra reserves. Without having to use his chakra to suppress kurama chakra he has over 100 times kakashis chakra reserves. Without kurama naruto has equal chakra reserves to hashirama if not the closest. Hashirama said it himself “he cloaked all the ninja in 9 tails chakra and telliported them all at once with the kuni? His chakra reserves are almost as high as mine! A fine shinobi”
@@levihiggins1372 Stop with the cap. Hashirama admitted himself that Naruto almost had as much as chakra as him, but he stated with Kurama's chakra. Kurama's chakra is gone, Naruto has nowhere near his amount of chakra now. Kurama only suppressed his chakra when they weren't friends. Once he released the seal and the both merge their chakra, his chakra was not suppressed.

Meaning using all that biju chakra like he did in the war with his chakra mode/kyubi cloak rather than locking it away. Also Hashirama has as much chakra on his own as Naruto and Kurama together. “Almost as much as I do” means even together they still have less than Hashirama.
Naruto never needed Kurama, it was the other way around. Naruto actually has way more chakra now that kurama is gone. When kurama was around, narutos chakra is what suppressed kuramas chakra. Let that sink in. Naturo naturally has immense amounts of chakra as his dad was a Namikaze and his mom was an Uzumaki. Both clans were known to inherently have tons of chakra reserves.
