I cry a little each day, because more people are born that will never understand how wonderful Oblivion is.

i remember a comment on an oblivion video "oblivion aged like milk, but damn if it isnt the finest cheese" it says it all

In fact this week i just started playing Oblivion for my first time ever and im baffled about how many different mechanics there is and how different the gameplay is from Skyrim, im loving it so much!

They did an amazing job with guild in Oblivion. You neede to rank up to become the head of the guild, not just handed over to you

There is no nostalgia like beating and getting every achievement for Oblivion on the 360 before Skyrim even came out. Good times, the best of times honestly

Oblivion was just a magical experience. Sneaking around at night. Coastline beside me. Stars overhead. Auriels Ascension starts up. Irl my eyes widen, jaw slacks and hair stands on end… just incredible.

I still play oblivion to this day!

Oblivion's guilds had everything skyrim's were lacking.

Just started playing oblivion again after years yesterday Any of my worries about it feeling dated or janky went out the window once I got to take in the world after leaving the sewers again for the first time. If anything, the jank just adds charm and doesn’t disrupt real gameplay. Possibly the best ES game to date.

Oblivion is still one of the best RPGs to ever be made.

Oblivion’s factions were, and are, the biggest loss in Skyrim. So much obviously wasted opportunity. If it hadn’t been for Oblivion’s factions and how engaging and integrated they were to so much of the game I probably never would have made it to Skyrim. It is also why I love the mod that adds the Dragonborn museum and it’s guild. I’d love to have more mods like that.

I love playing oblivion. I went back to it when i got wanted a change from skyrim back in the day. I really wish this would have an animation remaster for current gen and next gen

I love Oblivion. Once I get a gaming computer I'll bring playing Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Arena

The only down side (And someone at Bethesda did point this out before the launch of Skyrim) is that you can become head of all the guilds at once.

The thieves guild of oblivion was bar none the best faction quest I've played in any elder scrolls

Morrowind's was pretty great too, and in that game the quest lines from one guild would impact another guild (like with the Fighters Guild and Thieves Guild)

Oblivion in my opinion is the better game. I was introduced to ES by playing Skyrim. Oblivion is a little out of date as far as graphics. After you get past the graphics, it’s an amazing game. I’m playing it literally right now. 😂😂

To join the Thieves Guild, serving time in jail for stealing gives an immediate invitation into the guild.

I played Morrowind (which is still one of my favorite games) when it came out and when the trailer for Oblivion released, showcasing arrows sticking to a bucket and being able to retrieve them, I lost my shit.

This is to this day, the best Betheseda game ever made. I put my life and soul into playing this game. I am actually replaying now as we speak on xbox series X especially now that I understand how to max level. So much fun

I used to play oblivion over a few hundred times before playing Skyrim over a few hundred times, I looked at Skyrim for the first time and thought "That doesn't seem as fun" but the coaster ride changed my mind.

I settled for Skyrims guilds after bathing in the luxury of Oblivions guilds.

Oblivion is brilliant, a graphical update would be fantastic for this game.

I live and breath oblivion. There is nothing about the world i dont know. I put online and skyrim aside to play only it.

Just make sure you finish the Mages Guild before the Thieves' Guild. You'll find out why. XD

after the main questline, i recommend playing all of the missions to get the guildmaster rank for every guild. it's so satisfying, fun and memorable. you'll also be remembered as the most superior rank when talking to other guild members. it feels quite nice to see your progress being acknowledged.

Simply being able to ride a horse alongside another npc in oblivion.

Oblivion is unapologetically hilarious. And I can't count how many times I've fallen asleep just standing idle in the middle of a random location. Such memories.

The thieves guild was one of my faves. The ending with the gray fox was pretty good.

As a heads up to anyone new going into oblvion, look up levelling. It's a fun game but you can screw yourself id you play it like a normal game

Man seeing this game a NOVELTY from my childhood make such a huge come back is amazing. I spent many hours in junior high school playing this game

It's nice because there's a lot of side quests and guild work before and during the main guild quest making it feel like a real organization

I was 13 when this game came out it was the day before my 14th Birthday.

Been playing since 1998. Oblivion indeed had the Most "Soul" and for the factions you actually Need to have the required skillsets unlike in Skyrim, where you can Join the mages guild, never using Magic. The factions system is also really nice, Ranking Up and so we have to Talk about Spell-crafting? That was the GOAT

Just started oblivion, now I'm hooked like when I first played Skyrim.

Just finally completed all the Oblivion factions for this first time this week, actually. Dark Brotherhood was amazing, thieves guild was also awesome, mages guild was pretty good, fighters guild was admittedly kinda mid. Arena was great though!

I have mastered every faction in Oblivion and became the champion of every quest line and DLC and it was one of the greatest experiences of a video game I've ever had. I plan on returning to the land of Cyrodiil when time permits.

I still play this game today and will always be my favourite one in the whole of elder scrolls unless 6 pulls the same moves as oblivion

Oh wow the rank system is awesome, I didn't even know that! Why did they trim down on so many features in skyrim is still a mystery to me. Oblivion feels so much better quest and gameplay wise.

Nothing I've played to this day has yet to beat the "Who-Dun-it" Dark Brotherhood quest

Did them all years ago. Oblivion was one of my top favorite Bethesda games

Having a screen that displayed all factions you were part of, along with your rank and members referring to you by your rank made Oblivion feel very deep and immersive. It's a shame that they got rid of it in Skyrim and future Starfield. It added so much to the experience.

Shivering Isles was amazing too

I like the Arena, Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild, and Knights of the Nine.

I can’t believe they’ve never remade this game

For those of you who want to join the Dark Brotherhood without actually killing. For roll playing purposes, do the arena and talk to The Gray Prince before completing the arena. Do the quest he gives you. Then finish The Arena. When you finish the quest line it technically counts as murder but without the sneaking around and struggling to kill someone and getting it reported.

I am currently playing a Breton mage, getting into the mage's guild 😊

Dark brotherhood, thieves guild are GOATED. I know alot of people disliked the fighters and mages guild but I enjoyed both just as much as the other 2 factions. Arena is short but sweet. Was very dissapoited one of the biggest things.scrapped from skyrim was an Arena faction. The quests in oblivion are much more unique than skyrim. most major side quests and faction quest progressions feel more fun and rewarding and engaging - skyrim sometimes felt repetitive, alot of from a to fetch b to return to c whilst oblivion had some extra layers sprinkled in to keep us enjoying each moment quest to quest

Oblivions guild quests were overall much better than Skyrim's.

My arena raiments were my armor for pretty much my entire first playthrough.

MASTERPIECE OF A GAME. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING LOST IN THIS GAME.

Bro I LOVED the arena and the fact that the one guy ( I haven't played in years) was a vampire and you had to go through a quest to have him make you kill him instead of having to die again and again because that guy is fricking annoying otherwise

There are even some factions that just give you a membership, such as the Order of the Virtuous Blood

*also for the dark brother hood, do the arena questline but only fight against the champion AFTER you have done his quest line For reasons you will find out, winning will count as a murder

Ya know we have the rererererelease of skyrim but honestly remastered oblivion would pretty cool. If released with up too date graphic and upgraded the engine with bug fixes i could see it even sold at $60

Ngl i bought Oblivion just because i was absolutely in love with the Dark Brotherhood and just wanted to try roleplaying as an Assassin.

Seriously, who loved the faction quests in Skyrim? Maybe one or two quests were interesting, but overall they were mediocre. In Oblivion though? Those were awesome!

That dark brotherhood quest line was s tier. I was just disappointed the poison apples and murder mystery where kind of jank. Conceptually Oblivion is the best game. You should do a deep dive on the Radiant Ai before and after it was gutted.
