Obviously has, but Hawaii still looked amazing without him. I think they just need time to adapt and play with this new change in the roster. Louis has got a bright future, I think if he just works hard and stays consistent he will be a force of nature. I feel like he can match or even be better than chakas.
@@ryxn._.acymxtb it went both ways. Long beach prepared for chakas. Not sakanoko and thiim. It messed with their scouting report. If they meet in the big west, i think Long beach will be better prepared. I assume by that time they have already scouted sakanoko/thiim unless Hawaii uses another OH.
Thank you to whoever recorded and posted this game. I'm an UHM Alumni watching from Germany and i don't get to see the Bows playing unless someone takes the time to do this. Thank you❤
this was so close omg i wish someday i can play at a stage where so many people cheer so loudly!! this made me feel better even tho i've been a bit sad lately
Fun to watch. Well shot, with enough time to see the score every now and then. Some heavy hitters could hone their passing/defensive skills, but they have power. Good setting on both sides with good distribution. Blocking/defensive positioning was odd at times with diagonal clearly left out for power hitters to enjoy. This gym is really nice as well, high cathedral ceiling, perfect for volleyball.
It's an adjustment match for Hawaii without their leading guy Chakas - not to mention Chad's injury. But, this match #2 definitely showed Hawaii can still be on top. Just a few more matches with this adjustment team for Hawaii and they will be back on top.
That definitely looked like the line judge interfered on that play with Thiim. I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose, but that point should have been replayed. That's a very questionable call against Hawai'i there.
Hawaii's volleyball team gave LB a hard rub. They were not an easy team to beat they had to work hard every second. The Hawaiian Team are still top contenders & champions.
@@cschlums2235they may not be not one of the favorites now to win it but they are still contenders. Hawaii just went 5 sets with what is now the #1 team in the nation. They got a lot of things to clean up but they definitely still have the talent to win it all. It’s about how these young guys like Tread and Louie evolve over the course of the next month that will determine the ceiling for this team.
@@warriyorcat this is true. Just curious. I saw reports that the no call rule has made gameplay better and calls betweens refs with different looks a non issue now. Fun times for vball.
Im a complete beginner, compared to these guys I'm just some kid who is nothing, but I would love to play against and with these guys. Just get to experience and maybe learn a lot .
A visibility of this ball is not bad on screens. Much better as an universal Fivb one... However better would be if only one small, colour strip stayed there e.g red ones. Of course they have not to be amalgated.
@41:35 I've never been a fan of triple blocks on the outsides, OHs has to move fast to get there, being shorter (relatively) he has to jump higher and land later than your MB, who's size 14's are now all over the place because he's already starting to transition out of the block (I was a 6' OPP with a 6'5" MB and spend more time with my foot in an ice tub than I cared for exactly on plays like this).
Anyone else notice the BEACH Men's Volleyball Conference Champions banner at the Pyramid? It says Conference Champions including 2019, 2022, 2023. Um...no. Did anyone see the LBSU sideline person with the white cap and shirt signing outcomes? Just noticing...
You play everyone in conference twice. The Big West tends to do theirs back-to-back because some teams (Hawai'i) have a long way to travel and having back-to-back games keeps costs low.
14 in black needed to be humbled. 7:45, 13:35, 17:02 even having that attitude with the coach. It was fitting that the last error was caused because of him 32:47, although I would bet he blames the other guy.
nah you're only not allowed to jump/set over the 3 meter line when you're a libero as long as he didnt jump and spike it or if ur talking about his foot over the half court line then its fine as long as your heel doesnt touch the line
Tenía que ser EEUU, planilleros con camisas patrocibadas de aasic, buenas luces, lleno de espectadores, jugadores bien vitaminisados y alimentados, pantallas por todos lados, árbitro con uniforme nuevesito 😱
I’ve been telling y’all Louis should’ve been a starter in front of thiim or Chaz he was good . Long Beach should be thankful they didn’t have to face chakas it would’ve been an easy when for Hawaii and I say this as a ucla fan
@@whore4jelly4 I like louis he is a very versatile player, which is what stood out to me! I think chakas was just to good for his opponents. Louis is not far from being great but as good as chakas I wouldn’t say yes. Being great comes with more than just skill it comes with a mindset, experience, and leadership. Louis is just a freshman and lacks the experience at that level and leadership as well because there being people that have been there longer than him. He will be great for Hawaii from no moving forward if he stays as a starter.
Not really. Thiim and Chaz are definitely more dependeable than Louis. He gets some highlight swings but is incredibly inconsistent as we've seen all season long.
@@jackmcmanus5628so then why did they sub in Louis? Vet wise I would go with Chaz and thiim any day but they we’re struggling so that’s why Charlie put Louis in and it was a good choice. I will be shocked if he is not a starter
It’s weird because it felt like Long Beach was clearly the better team with all the blocks, digs, and they just seemed more in system consistently. They played about as good of a game as you can get against another elite team. And despite all that Hawaii still took them to 5 sets while making a ton of hitting errors, service errors, not having their best player, and playing on the road showed just how talented they are. No doubt Hawaii with Spyros last night, they win.
