In this video I will be showing you how to fix your stock Hawk 250 fuel gauge so that it reads accurately. I noticed that my fuel gauge was reading empty when I had as much as 3/4 of a tank left of fuel. The reason why is the oem float arm is too short. This can be fixed by replacing it with the fuel sender from a CSC TT250 and can be ordered for under $15.00 from their website. Link below.

To o bad the Hawk and others don't have the parts, customer support, and the upgraded parts like CSC offers. One reason CSC is a little more and 50 state legal I presume

Got my replacement fuel sender from CSC Motorsports yesterday, be installing it after watching this video. The float arm became unattached after my last fill up, and rattled and vibrated the for rest of the trip. I did notice inaccuracy from the beginning, as well. For anybody skeptical of ordering parts for your China 250, CSC Motorsports SHIPS FAST! And from California, not China. Thanks for the how-to! 💯🏍🤙🤟

Thanks for another great video. I need to remove my tank to find exposed wiring. You’ve got the best hawk 250 tank removal vid out there. I thought I was already subbed. Am now

Not everyone will have the knowledge or skill to either keep these running by tinkering. I have heard stories of people who bought bikes and had no clue what to do after they put it together. Not everyone knows what a fuel idle screw is, or where the regulator sits. Yes these are crappy Chinese bikes, but it’s knowledge and skill and tinkering that counters their poor product from quality. Also keep in mind that the price you pay (which seems cheap) is doubled if not tripled in sweat equity and brain expansion . I could have my hawk set on fire and still rebuild all of it. So to tel anyone that this is a bad bike needs to come with the disclaimer that it could be a good bike as well. Ride safe!

I did this swap today. On my brozz 250 after about 100 miles the gauge would be on E pretty much. Plenty remaining. Hope to see better results.

All I had to do was bend the OEM sender arm about a 3/4 inch downward and was a fix. E is E, 1/2 is 1/2, and full is full. But the carb model is equipped with a reserve. When on mode is selected it will run out of gas just about a gallon left. Put on reserve and head to the gas station. The reserve is a ol fashion gas light. You got about 40 miles on reserve. Although accuracy is a plus it is not really needed on a reserve type tank. Just my 2 cents.

What's your follow up report? Does it read empty when its actually empty? I would think just bending the float arm down would solve the problem. Might take a few tries to get it just right.
@JackofAllMasterofNone

It's a lot better. I've never run it down to nothing. It was reading empty with half a tank before. Now it lasts a lot longer

Jack of All Master of None ? I have a question. If you had to travel from country to country, would you trust the Hawk 250 to get you there or buy and use better brand motorcycle to travel country to country ?
@JackofAllMasterofNone
@JackofAllMasterofNone 4 года назад
If you had the time to fix all of the common problems first I would trust the Hawk. My Hawk I would trust. Otherwise, no. I would recommend spending a little more and getting a quality Japanese bike.

I love my Tao TBR7 and I've sunk another $1K in upgrades BUT I am saving to buy a Suzuki DR650 to do serious traveling because it has been proven over and over again it can circle the world. The biggest problem with the Chinese bikes is the little 230c engines that can not keep up on 65mph roads. I have mine geared to do 65mph at 6.5rpms BUT I've lost my bottom end torque and in 5th gear I slow down going up hill. They are fine at 55mph but anymore most 2 lane roads are going up to 65mph and since drivers seem to ALWAYS due 10 to 15 over the limit, I get nervous on thise busy roads with cars lined up behind me. Oh, plus adding another 100+ lbs of luggage is going to slow it down even more. Too bad they don't make a 450cc and /or a 6 gear transmission.

Did it work with the original equipment? Or fuel gauge not registering with the new instrument cluster?

Yes it works with the OE gauge. It's a direct replacement and just a much better, more accurate part

The hawk and tbr7 are basically the same bike. The only real difference d Is tire and rim size
@drewt.4353

Of course they know, that's why the bike is so cheap. Iphones are made in china, Apple just demands higher quality standards. That's why the csc tt250 costs a bit more.
