kotik the drum was played by mother first, the meaning of the drum has been lost in the 150 years that they silence it. in the land of the north. the drum was an original played by 'I' "women/men" describing the pain in their heart their joy whatever emotion their heart let them beat to. is a history we lost and as the elders are passing and the schools aren't teaching them is up to us to correct them.

Absolutely incredible! Glad to see the tradition continue despite the attempts to silence native cultures. From a proud Mexican American, you go young ones! Keep the culture alive!
I'm crying tears of joy right now...spirit soaring... this is the absolute best!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the healing, y'all--you are loved. Keeping the culture in good hands... giving us all hope for the future, & renewed strength to survive the present. BEST MEDICINE EVER!!! 💙🙏🏽💓🎶💚
As a greenlandic inuit watching this.. Is so moving! In Greenland we have a hard time keeping our culture and tradition alive.. As that is. This is AMAZING to witness!
I'm a native Papua New Guinean, a country north of Australia 🌏. Seen this Young natives sing gives me goosebumps, this simply shows that back in the day natives where doing fine, coexisting with the mother nature. In overall colonisation has ruined mother earth 🌍 and humanity.
These youngsters are being tought in a proper manner and it show's. Encourage em and support em dont hate on em. They as youngsters have good blez'n-z. Good medicine. To the parent's and relitives Thank you for teaching em this good way of life. Last thing is they should be tought that pow wow'z arent about MONEY & ALWAYZ WINNING itz about the elders and INDIGENOUS way being keep true.
tapway!!! the only thing stopping our youth from learning the traditional culture is...DISCOURAGEMENT! encouragement is saving our traditions from extinction...akosi. greetings from Maskwacis Cree territory(central alberta Canada)
I learned that the hard way XD but now my mom always told me listen to brother bear, I can sing like this to I just don't have the hand drum, have a great day everyone learn something new everyday 😁
Glad to see a group so young doing it.. not one elder in the circle.. the courage these kids have it clearly shows that they have had a proper teaching of culture and that no1 near them shows any type of discrimination.. I myself was laughed at and made fun to appoint where I would not get on a drum.. until recently in my adult life now I see it as a blessing to get up there even if I make a mistake on a lead it's a learning experience that far too many of the youngsters either miss out on or skip past.. guns down drums up get them jingles rocking and those vocals blasting
Wish the kids would get together like this in Minneapolis, but they refuse to learn any other songs besides "the bear song" for show. These kids in video are singing for a service to the dancers and as a sense of responsibility and duty truly a blessing to see! anyway, thanks for sharing - these kids ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
I rather see my ppl sing there on music. I love and respect all the young boys on this video u boys sound so amazing. I have another song to Add to my playlist for my morning workouts thanks boys.
It' is songs like this the creator of all things wants to hear may it bring a smile to all who hear it as always smiling and dancing with the round rock
