Sound level seems a bit low from the soloist - must be the recording quality being a bit below par.

If cockiness was someone, it would be this guy. For all the head bobbing and eye squinting, this is quite a weak performance when it comes to SOUNDS

It’s just showmanship. All soloists need it even if they are amateurs in competition. Besides, this performance great to say the least. It’s not being cocky it’s just the nature of a soloist.

@@Justinaughh this is soulless and boring, if you want a good rendition of this wonderful piece go check Gautier Capuçon

@@TheVoodooMaker That is an opinion, and definately not a fact. Different performers have different musical interpretations, and you certainly do not have the right to say what's "right" or "wrong." There is no right or wrong in musical interpretations as long as it doesn't completely go out of the common sense.

@@Justinaughh my opinion is backed by theoretical and practical knowledge of both the cello repertoire and the history of western music, which btw I wouldn't shove in everyone's faces under normal circumstances because I don't take myself that seriously, but you on the other hand cannot just say "it's a matter of taste". It's not, you are entitled to your preferences but you happen to have bad taste, and there's nothing wrong with that but don't come to me like our opinions are equal cuz they're not
