Thank you everyone so much for watching this video and getting it up to almost (as of me writing this comment) 1.5 million views. I never thought anything I made would be seen by so many people... and sorry Vivzie for riding the tail of Hazbin Hotel's popularity!
Have you seen those lost vhs videos one of them Do you want to be happy? Alastor kind of sounds like the clown in that video, but the clown speaks more slower
Ok, I know Alastor is a great character and his audio is great, but can we give a round of applause for the voice actors? They have done an outstanding job
I’m literally obsessed with his characterization and I love the fact his voice is filtered through radio static, his whole aesthetic is glorious. Thank you for this video.
to be honest, Charlie can die and I wouldn’t give 2 shits ( personally I think she needs more dimension to her character ) I’m kinda rooting for Alastor here
If he was human that might explain his origin he may have been Alive in the late 1920s and have an attachment to radios which was why he made it his theme He may have been a radio entrepreneur when he was alive which was why he has a sense of style as an entertainer and a shark killing businessman
Alastor's definitely my favourite character as of now. He's very obviously a case of affably evil, one of my favourite archetypes. A character that's so very obviously evil and is open about it, but manages an oddly sincere, friendly and charming disposition.
Seems he might actually redeem as well and have a redemption arc. He cares about Charlie and he's amused for her determination to put a idea that probably won't work. Even if it's for sheer boredom. He still is dead serious about somethings. Anyways i hope Satan or one of the many kingpings of hell play a major role as antagonist and Alastor as some sort of watcher but usually pulling some strings to maybe help or stir conflict
@@maglor2414 yes indeedy but he said alot of things that are dead serious. He's charmed to meet someone like Charlie because She's unique and one of a kind
It seems Alastor's voice goes clear when he is dead serious about what is leaving his mouth. -He genuinely is pleased to meet Charlie. -He was amused by the orphans of the GD -He could've harmed anyone in the hotel if he chose to -He lacked inspiration and is bored in his recent work -He knows the world is a stage and the stage is a world of entertainment -He enjoys watching sinners fail to redeem themselves -He was ready to make a serious deal with that handshake -He was serious to conjure infinite cheap booze for Husker *Stay Tuned~*
And throughout all of Alastor’s Reprise, his voice is clear, going even harder to insist that Alastor doesn’t believe in the Happy Hotel, but he’ll help anyway.
I saw this theory that Alastor is aware of the audience, he breaks the fourth wall twice 1. when talking to Vaggie he looks directly at the screen, and causes the screen to go to static, and 2. At the end he tells us to stay tuned. This makes Alastor quite a bit more terrifying.
•[Lavenderlovefoxx]• •[Lavenderlovefoxx]• a few times such as during his speech about he would have hurt them already, after talking about the stock market crash, and the stage is a world of entertainment, only to repeatedly trip and tumble down to the pit of failure, I can make this more welcoming if you wish. This are the ones o found so far
He’s literally the definition of when you’re max level in a rpg and have 100 in charisma but still have 80 in every other stat just in case [EDIT] I didn’t realize how many likes this got thanks
This characterization is fascinating. I'm glad so many people love him but it seems to be for the wrong reason. He's either sexualized or treated as a wholesome ace but dear god he's the most malicious, sadistic, genuinely frightening character in the whole show thus far! And it's set in hell! I just don't understand...
Yeah you gather a bunch of edge lords and just force feed them a cartoon set in hell and they just ruin the experience for people like me and you my man. Also: "YOU will no longer need thIIIssss.. HAHAHAHAAAA!!!!"
@@DonaldDuck-s8v It's not quite ruining my experience because the canon material treats him as the menacing psychopath he is. I just want people to appreciate the incredible beginnings of what could be a jaw dropping antagonist. I believe this show could become a master class of character development and characterization. Also: "Dear, if I wanted to hurt anyone here.... I would have done so already."
@@leefeebeck9185 Yeah I understand that as well, it sucks when you make a badass character and the fanbase trashes on it with cringey ships and all that, you hate and you love it cause they ARE fans showing their love for that character but it just feels cringey y'know?
This is a bit random af, but according to demonolatry, most demons just don’t give a damn about random people. About as much fucks given as seeing some random hobo squatter guy on the street.
His audio design is incredible, it really is, and this showcases it really well- god the amount of work to find all the radio sounds and all the adjustment with his voice and,,,, his shoes sounding kind of like deer hooves and,,,, i just realized he can turn his neck roughly 180,,,, all the little details asaaa
like when he rolls his eyes when Charlie talks about no how he can't pull any tricks or voodoo things at 3:11 I've seen this scene about 10 times and I've only just noticed.
I like how sometimes he makes snake hisses, and alligators sounds mixed in with the radio static, given that his character bio says he was a talk show host/serial killer living in new Orleans, it's fitting.
I want to see that too, that could be the very thing that has potential to seriously set him off. He don't believe in redemption, he believes everything is set in stone already, it's all entertainment and jokes for him. To be wrong...would be a hit to his ego and he may lose that smile and charisma, even if its only for a split second.
There is a comic where Charlie succeeds in redeeming everyone and is left with Alastor and he redeems too but doesn't want to leave Charlie alone because she can't go to heaven but he had to and that was the only comic that was close to making me cry. It's a fan made comic, but still really sad.
I want that more than any other end for this series. I want Charlie to succeed. Also, I want Alastor to either redeem or to just not own/fund the Hotel if he doesn't end up caring. I do see a bit of myself in Al, but he's also very despicable. It would be cool to see him be redeemed, tho.
He reminds me of Kefka from final fantasy for some reason. I agree with Grell Sutcliffe part but minus he's "feminine charm". He'd more like Undertaker actually.
Uuuh Wouldnt it be better to say "a crossover of both characters" instead of "as if they had a son" Theyre both male And I dont think its possible for two males or females to have biological children
There's a solid theory going around that he may have genuine intentions whenever the radio filter fades out for his real voice. Like how he was greeting the mc, or sadistically talking about watching people fail at redemption.
The animation on him was SO well done, like it's amazing how many expressions they pull off on a character who's always smiling. He's also just the perfect blend of adorable and creepy, I love Alastor so much XD
It’s funny how Alastor has a moral code unlike the other overlords of hell His moral code is 1. will not chase after fleeing victims 2. will not hurt children in anyway 3. help children who were abandoned
@@satouchiha1825 no, it isn't related to him telling the truth because it wouldn't make sense at all. It's when he's feeling more intense, and instinctively brings the microphone closer to his face, hence the more clear his voice gets.
This is the smooth sultry voice list. 1. 0:13 2. 0:25 3. 0:34 4. 1:02 I lack inspiration 5. 1:23 of entertainment 6. 1:53 it's a whole monologue 7. 3:18 8. 5:11 9. 5:28
I think maybe he was playing it on his microphone so he could rehearse the song he was going to sing. Because in his song instead of "inside of every demon is a rainbow" he sang "inside of every demon is a lost cause" But I dunno.
I thought that perhaps he recorded it, and that's partially why he makes deals. If someone tries to lie about something they said, he could play it back.
Y'know, if you listen closely, trying to tune out that filter you can make it out a slight southern accent on Alastor, I. E. his backstory that he's a 30s broadcaster serial killer from new Orleans
And he was hiding out in the woods during hunting season and a hunter mistook him as a deer and shot him in the middle of the forehead (which is why he has a red ex in that spot) he also has hoof prints in on the bottom of his shoes and he has antlers
Notable also because the accent is an accent-within-an-accent. On the surface he has a transatlantic accent, which is the artificial affectation radio broadcasters and some Hollywood stars used at the time. Extremely subtle and brilliant work.
This video helped me look closer at the characters facial expressions and the little things they do in the background like how Angel Dust blew a kiss at Husk and fixed his hair or Alastor fixing his hair
5:19 they way Alastor blinks makes me think that he's actually pretty taken aback by Charlie's gratitude and overall aura of cheeriness. We know that he's conniving and good at hiding his emotions, but I think encountering someone like Charlie after decades of being around sinners and overall unpleasant people was just enough of an honest surprise to get that small reaction out of him.
That's a nice theory, but when he blinks like that he's looking at Vaggie while he's waiting to hear what she thinks about his contributions to the hotel. Vaggie and Alastor have a more negative relationship, whereas Alastor is more passive-agressive, so while he's blinking like that he's mocking her in a way.
Although, it's been confirmed that Alastor likes Charlie for the same reasons he likes Mimzy, and that's because Charlie is a positive/excitable person who smiles a lot.
@@pyrogaming5560 Where this fandom is going? This fandom din particular? Every. Single. Fandom has NSFW stuff. No matter how innocent the object it is surrounding is. There will always be that group of people. If you run from R34, you'll end up running away from every show/game you like. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the sound effects used around this character? Not just the old radio effect used for his voice, but the actual sound effects when he moves? The sound design for this project is amazing.
"Hel-o!" Alastor suffers a stroke while charlie shuts the door and opens it rapidly. Edit: Holy crap I never thought people would like this joke. Edit 2: Wow! People are making the entire reply section the entire episode now.
-Volunteers to help; no catch(hrmm lets see about that) -provides the staff -saves the hotel from further potential damage -offered to make Jambalaya for the gang Alastor is a fairy godmother, change my mind
@@Gaster-zd9ol that was what i was thinking. Charlie seens like the character that Alastor will like the most, and since her dad seens to be kind of a dick, i don't find unlikely that they would do that dinamic betwen them. After all, Alastor seens like a really perverse and evil character, it has to be something really strong such as a father and doughter ralationship to turn him over lol. Besides, noticed how he apears soon after she is crying because her father is a dick? Coincidence? DON'T THINK SO. Anyways, i hope they do It, because i'm obsessed with morally questianable character that become father figures. Sorry for my inglesh, not my main language-q
