@@AtegaSaryvowell the rainy stealth gameplay feels cinematic and adding it the show wouldn’t do much other than make the episode longer and establish that Joel is not necessarily a good person and he’s a lot more violent than that we are shown earlier on but that is already fixed by having him pummel the guard when he’s escaping with Ellie and his ptsd of his daughter being shot gets triggered so ultimately the scene would feel a little more underwhelming and pointless and a 1:1 recreation of every scene would be pretty boring.

My only complaint is against the fans, those with blue hair who are normally star wars fans. They are complete idiots and just watching them comment on the series doesn't make you want to watch it to not be like them.

Only there was nothing about these scenes that should make them fail to be emotionally evocative in live action. The issue is that the writers probably have some kind of agenda that is compromising their ability to write or direct a proper sequence.

It was a fantastic way to have people wholly new to the franchise be brought in to the universe and what underlays the whole global situation. What is this threat to humanity? What does the fungus do? Why is fungus *now* dangerous and not before? How much is this particular plague likely to effect humanity? All answered in a TV interview format. It was excellent. I didn't even find it too on the nose for a person who's played the games.

Difference in my household being, she typically doesn't like zombie/horror type shows, but she's mostly watching it because I really pushed hard on selling her on how good the story is in the game and that I think she would like it once she got into it. So really, she's just doing it for me as a good mother type thing haha. It's easy to be impressed by almost any modern AA/AAA game when your reference points are lacking. It's also much easier to internalize something a "gaming journalist" shat out while sipping his Starbucks latte than to form your own opinion or dare to critique a mainstream product. One might think you are one of those evil, *based* individuals.

Very few ideas are completely original these days because it’s hard to come up with something that hasn’t been done before. TLOU sticks out because of how well it was executed imo.

The reason you like video games but not video game adaptions is because movies/series are held to a MUCH, MUCH higher standard than games when it comes to story, presentation and delivery. Video games pretty much never have good stories by moviie or especially novel standards. If video game writers were talented enough, they would be making much more money than they do now writing Hollywood blockbusters. There is zero career incentive for gifted writers to write video game stories except for building up a resumee as young writers, trying to get their foot into the industry's door. It's like comparing college basketball to the NBA. It's not uncommon for college prodigies to completely bomb in the NBA, and it's likewise not uncommon for video game lead designers to completely fall apart with movies. What you're doing is comparing the Nr.1 college team vs an NBA team, and saying that the college team suddenly sucks. The team only looked so good because people compared it to a lower tier of competition. Rest assured, games such as this one or The Witcher (which also flopped) are simply not mainstream-TV material. Imagine Hideo Kojima with his nonsensical plot making a movie, he would instantlybecome a laughing stock and turn into Steven Seagal 2.0...if even that, I'm not sure if he's even direct to bluray material. If you want an engaging story, look for the right medium to experience it. You're not going to get a narrative masterpience in the lower leagues, which is the video game industry. Anybody that is talented enough uses video games as a stepping stone for bigger and better things.

I like the last of us game play because it’s normal people with normal f’ing weapons, walking around with normal dialogue. Not jumping from building to building and insane dumb superpowers

They are my own and your preference is your own. I still like a good story and that's why I think this is the best video game adaptation. It's pure story and none of what i personally dislike

My bet would be that they are going to explore more stuff before Joel dies. I can see them building up Abby in advance and showing more of Jackson and only killing Joel at the end of season 2. And then season 3 is the rest of Part 2 and by that time, there will be a game 3 probably. Either way, I don't see this show lasting more than 5 seasons. But yes, they are killing Joel FOR SURE and fill that main character slot with fucking Abby. Sigh. But well. At least we have the whole season 1 to enjoy I guess....

In what world does a modern show, let alone a video game show, lasts for more than 3 seasons. This show is not the sopranos. There is no cult following to warrant that it keeps going.

Who the fuck wants Part III at this point? The second game totally killed this franchise, there's no moving forward from that crap. For me only the first game is canon, I don't care about any sequels nor adaptations.

nah last of us the game was made with love this is poorly made i don't recall a single moment that stood with me, i played it many many years ago on ps3 i loved it , my wife played it a year ago on ps4 the remaster she we were both excited and then this was bloated meaningless moments boring and then the point of saras death it as that it came out of nowhere hell you don't get to react fast enough by the time you get to see she is bleeding she is dead it was not dramatic it was blunt and is engraved on stone in my memory like a freaking trauma that's how good their voice acting was but on the series it took so freaking long way to dramatic and the attachment to Sara just aint there great actor whoever played Sara but what she has to work with is really bad and don't get me started on Ellie that is the worst casting ive seen in a while she looks weird and I'm talking about her facial expression she aint that adorable Ellie we all cared for she is watching Joel basing someone skull in she didn't look surprised she didn't look shocked she looked like a freaking infected trying to join in and bite someone face off f the goblin lady.
