Thank you, ya I like doing some off-road stuff but I'm more of a speed guy myself but I like about all RC stuff except major bashing, skate parks etc etc... there will be a video uploaded soon on this truck so be watching , we surpassed 72 mph with it. I'm way behind on getting video's edited and uploaded, both my daughters are out of town and can't help me 🤣
Awesome!..those HBX's are little beasts, My buddy put a set of hub extenders on his to widen the trackwith a little bit and it has much better stability from what he says. The only problem I have with hub extenders tho is that the extra width also adds more leverage and strain on the control arms, the hubs and even extra wear on the bearings too, and if you clip a curb or something you'll end up with a bad day lol.
@@SoundStream101 yes sir, I have a set of 15mm extenders I ran on mine, definitely helped stability with the extra width but...it burnt up 2 hub/wheel bearings L/R side
How do you get a 17 tooth pinion to fit in there? It just worked with the same mount as the 16 tooth? I was talking to someone else the other day that said they ran a 17 tooth pinion and I was thinking the mesh would be too tight… But maybe not? Great 50+ mph runs! I just got mine fixed last night and hope to run it when I get some free time.
Well, this mount my brother and I are attempting to make, has worked so far. It's basically like the stock mount, identical except the mounting holes are slotted, I actually got a 18t in there and the mesh was still good but a 19 was too tight so we're working on that with the 3 D printer/Cad
@@RCrepairAndBuilds That would be awesome! I thought trying to slot the stock mount but never tried.... an 18t would be a decent difference but 19+ would be awesome. I wish there was a smaller spur you could run with it. I remember talking to someone a few weeks ago that said there was a RC truck that used the same setup as the 2997 (I think) and he thought it ran a smaller spur but I can't remember who I was talking to or the truck. I think it might have been a CROBOLL truck.
@@BriansRCStuff actually we discussed it also, I believe the spur gear off of a DeeRC will work, it's a 52t spur. I'll get you that part number tmrw from my brother
