This is what we all have been waiting for. A module that uses the UART emulation in BLE for BT5. The BLE BT4 uart was a bit painful to work with since there was no real standard and you could only use the Nordic specific tools and libraries. Works great in peripheral/slave mode - there is a pin on the board that is pulled low as soon as a central connects to the module giving a microcontroller application a nice way to wake up from sleep or even power down. Too bad the information about the central is incomplete. How to we scan or connect to a module when in central/master role ?
