I was a bit disappointed Today that i wasn't able to capture The Whistling Ghost III Rail Tour on it's journey on to The West Somerset Railway. I had a pre-booked Driver CPC 'Periodic Training Day 'in Taunton to count towards the renewal of my CPC Drivers card for Buses and Coaches. Due in 5 Years time, the Course would take all Day !! It had been cancelled at least 3 times due to lack of numbers and this was the only Day available for some time. I have decided to do one a Year until then..it's the easiest option. I decided that after the course i would at least try and get some footage on The WSR. As 4936 'Kinlet Hall' had taken 8 Coaches of a Ten Coach Train onwards to Minehead there was no point in chasing around trying to Film that , when the Main Train was in Bishops' Lydeard !! This is the second time i have filmed lineside in BL in a week....it was to be a good decision that i am very happy about. In the first clip you see 4936 'Kinlet Hall' bringing in the 8 Coaches from Minehead. Then in the next couple of clips Castle Class.4-6-0. 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' Shunts with it's two Coaches and backs on to the other 8 on Platform 2. The Whistling Ghost III Railtour is operated by Vintage Trains and West Coast Railways. The last main clip shows 5043 departing on 1Z54 Deps 18:30 (18:27 act) Bishops Lydeard. WSR----Tyseley Steam Trust. arr 23:34 (00:16 act) I am a great believer in What's meant to be , is meant to be'. So what looked like being a missed opportunity turned out fine in the End....I hope you enjoy the footage of 5043 with lot's of Steam, Smoke and clag ...I certainly did !! Cheers...Steve.~
