Today i decided to go to Taunton Station to do some Filming whilst my Car was in the local Peugeot Dealer for some work. I suppose i was lucky in that the very High Winds started to lessen in a short time after i arrived....Storm Diane had hit the west Country pretty hard and there was disruption on the Rail services between Exeter St David's and Penzance for quite some time. A lot of FGW and Cross Country Services were affected. I managed 5 Hours at the Station and i wasn't disappointed in what i saw and Filmed.
The Highlight for me was managing to catch the Colas 70 by pure luck as it stopped for a Driver change....If the the Driver had a Red Light instead of Green i could have Filmed a bit in 70817's Cab...but alas it was Green...Never mind.
What could have been a catastrophe for me was i was walking to the end of Platform 4 and somehow lost my Grip on the Tripod holding my precious Panasonic X920 Camcorder...and it hit the ground...hard ..on Tarmac...Luckily it was switched off, but it still took quite a few Minutes to bring it back to Life after suffering a blank screen for a while....Phew....all was back to normal....First time in 4 1/2 Years i have ever had a close call like that...And 920's are getting rarer these days...Lady luck was on my side Today...
Hope You enjoy the video.......Steve.
