The airplane parts are neat looking on a freight train, do they make stuff like that in N-Scale?

Are these bodies made somewhere else and sent to Washington factory or vice versa?

You're looking at Boeing 737-800 fuselages which were built in Wichita, now moving by train to Everette, WA to be assembled into a ready to fly unit. There are no seats, no interior, no baggage compartments or galley's the fuselages are nothing but a shell of aluminum sheets and steel support rods, in 30 days they will be ready for the new customer's to take delivery
@Gsmith-tz5er
@Gsmith-tz5er 6 лет назад
They are going to Renton Wa., not Everett, Wa.

The planes may not have some bits mate but a normal Pacific locomotive can weigh more than a single jumbo jet just because planes look and are big that's because of the wings and the long steel poles with the wheels on saying that a full freight train all together would make a plane look very very small but there's all things shapes and sizes, it's just a thought dude nothing. Personal,🙏🙏🙏👍
@erikk77
@erikk77 3 года назад
@@leenettywilson528 Yes, a shell of aluminum is much lighter than a steel locomotive.

I wonder what was in the two cars behind the fuselages. they looked very heavily armored or secured cars.

The same train (i think) derail later (search BNSF train derailment 2014 footage ) ( a vid from 7 years ago)

Don't they build planes big enough to load the fuselage and so they won't have to go through this long trip?
@MrDgwphotos
@MrDgwphotos 4 месяца назад
That was for the 787, and they aren't just hauling fuselages, they are hauling parts from other countries, including Japan.

The Boeing 737 is the only airplane to fly UNDER both the Rocky and Cascade Mountain ranges. Edit: it's odd to see them so far back in the train. 99% of the time they ride right behind the head-end power.
