I remember hearing this song in Barnes & Noble years ago while coincidentally looking for a fairy tale book. This has stuck with me ever since.

Life is not a fairytale. I love the way Sara Bareilles gets this across. Happily Ever After never happens in the real world.

I love this song! Sarah is a beautiful voice of current women to urge them to go after larger goals than being a typical female protagonist. I think she speaks for women in my generation!

I looked this up because I read that Alex Lawther, who is an actor I really like, put on a play based on this song when he was a teen :D really cool song!

This has much better quality than the other video posted. Same music video, but.. in this you can hear her awesome voice much better an see everything clearer.

I would argue that it isn't pounded into their heads anymore. Modern TV is cynical, even the cartoons. But everyone's experience is different.

Because I actually know the person who did write it. The problem was that she and the girl who did the chords, they did not copy-write it. They sold it to a producer and then it was passed onto Sara.

I disagree, I'm a girl and growing up fairytales didn't tell me that I had to wait for a guy to come and sweep me off my feet - they taught me morals and values. There's a lot to be learned from them.
