Be honest this is not your first time watching this! I am back here again, after a short nap I just suddenly remembered this content and search it up, so calming~ Probably my 9th time watching this♥️
One of the best documentaries available. Watching this was like a meditation. It made you feel relaxed, amazed and inspired. I would love to live in this village. Imagine having fresh water stream in your house? Amazing Japan! One of the best countries in the world. The children growing up in such a beautiful place are indeed fortunate.
@@slaprakshas Well burning fields is a necessary part of maintaining many vegetated landscapes. It burns away the previous seasons plants to make way for the new ones. Many variety of plant seeds only open under high temperatures caused by fire, because they've naturally evolved under this system (natural fires are usually caused by lightning strikes)
Tristan Neal I agree. However natural fires are extremely rare(at least were, before the industrialisation). Can I suggest you to read into Natural Farming? One Straw Revolution by Masanobu Fukuoka is a tiny but revolutionary book into farming without hurting the earth. By scorching earth and plowing, we strip the earth of its natural ballance and beneficial microbes. That way step by step making the fields barren requiring artificial fertilisation over time.
Like a capybara😂... the sea otter is my favorite. We've been watching too many documentaries, if that's possible. Btw, I thought this was part 2. It's the same one I just saw. Where is part 1. I see a part 3. I'll check it out.
Japan is such a wonderful country, so beautiful. With good, honest and caring people. With a culture and history as ancient as humanity itself. With traditions that hold on to the wonderful history. And a food culture that searches its equal on earth. I love everything about Nippon. The food (like okonomiyaki, natto, miso soup, sushi, takoyaki....), the culture, the traditions, anime, shintoism/buddhism, the historic costumes weared on occasional festivals, the onsen, the cha-no-yu ceremony, and of course the legendary green tea. I'd really love to live in a satoyama, as a simple farmer, in equillibrium with the nature. It must be the equivallent to paradise. I felt this way about Nippon since I was a kid, and it didn't change with 34 years now. Nihon daisuki. Domo arigato gozaimashita for this video.
I found this Documentary in late 2017. I showed it to my dad, since then my dad me and my mum watch this Documentary at least One a year... I remember in 2018 I was very ill, I wasn't able to walk a lot so I use to sit home and watch TV. I watched this Documentary on youtube via TV. I felt so relaxed. this Documentary has become very Unique part of our family life.
I always come back to this video to get my head straight and remember that there are men like sanguro and places like satoyama out there that I must meet and visit.
yeah but. We probably wouldn't have the internet as it is now. Maybe Europe would have developed it to this level eventually or specifically when. Who knows how tech or science would have progressed if they never came to the Americas and developed new ideas. But America was the vanguard in evolution of human society and civilization in the last few centuries. These not so much.
This comment cannot entirely express my appreciation and amazement of how the villagers maintain this essential way of living. Having a glimpse of this even more innovative system, it makes the rest of the world ashamed of what we're polluting nature with. This documentary is lit though~~ its so precise and entertaining to watch especially with the changing of seasons. I can't begin to comprehend the entirety of their preparation for this. I'll come back and watch this gem again when I wan't a break from the concrete-jungle where I'm from😊😊
Everyone should love their country, nature, culture and the environment just like the Japanese are doing. One of the best films I have ever watch. Congratulations BBC.
" _When the right time comes, Everything will be fine_ " that was probably the most beautiful words i've ever heard. and thank you for this beautiful documentary video 😄 best 52 mins of my life.
i truly hope mr.Sangoro tanaka still healthy to this day, live long and happily ever.. thanks for allowing world to see the how the way of his family daily life to living harmony with nature..
83 years old. Look at him, good muscle tone, balance, flexibility, posture, no glasses, all his teeth. I'd bet he takes no medication for anything. Obviously functioning extremely well physically, mentally and socially... Breeding or Lifestyle ???
I'm guessing it's lifestyle. Plenty of exercise from his day-to-day routine, fresh air and clean water, and a diet of rice, fish and vegetables. Funa-zushi is fermented and is probably chock-full of probiotics.
Heidi K. / You're a troll, right? Japan is one of the most secular countries in the world. Very few believe in the mystical aspect of Shintoism. Maybe we should take an example from them, because they seem to be doing fine--and better.
Heidi K. Japan is a secular country. Bring ur Christianity back to the western world. The world does not need to revolve around your religion. We reject Christianity and who cares if your religion says that we’re going to hell.
Whenever i get stress with the busy life of modern life... i always come back here to recharge, find peace and one day to visit satoyama to experience fiest hand. Sometimes makes me tear up too.
It is pure bliss watching this! How wonderful would it be to have such a beautiful spring-river flow through your house and be part of this great, peaceful, harmonious community! It is a great example of humanities potential, living in harmony with nature in a sustainable, wholesome manner. Thank you for posting this wonderful documentary!
The world could learn a thing or two from the wonderful people of Japan. I've loved Japan since I was a child reading National Geographic. I've loved nature since before I was born I think. In my little North Carolina town we have beautiful Dragon flies as well. OUR PLANET IS SO PRECIOUS. I love Mr.Sagoro's home especially the indoor/outdoor pond area. Japanese homes are beautiful. It's such a magical place. Japan is magical.
so so so amazing..never in my wildest dreams that i imagine that a place like this even exist in the world..truly remarkable, people from all over the world could learn a thing or two on how to co exist harmoniously with nature without polluting it ;)
I first watched this documentary, on a friend's recommendation, after I had been completely devastated by a terrible bout of food poisoning and was feeling rather sorry for myself. It was the perfect viewing for me at that time, but I must have been left more emotionally delicate from it than I had realised, because when the music came up at the end it was so lovely I actually cried, haha! Thanks for the ID
wow very clean and sanitary japan is unique. usa, india, uk, germany, france etc. in some ways cannot compare to japan how close japan is to nature and modren living combine.
By far this is the most beautiful natural documentary i have ever watched...it is awesome and inspire me so much positive emotions...loving environment, being closed to the secret nature...it looks like my teacher teaching me inner power...thank you so much...and blessed the writer, speaker..it is wonderful video!
I love to see they all gathering eat food together,,what a life Japanese people living in harmony,,,,nice Documentary good job,,keep up the good work,,,,KL city 2015,,
Life is so simple , live and let live is the natures policy , we humans in the name of development is set out for vast destruction of the ecosystem . these people like sangoro are giving the world a message of coexistence within nature. I wish there be more water villages world wide , that actually can make all our lifes simpler , fresh and innocent . Good documentary , thankyou for showing the not gone goodness in man .let this bring light to our world onceagain.
Absolutely right, but I have a question: do you know, or can you suggest a place where such a village could be created? Please tell me and I will come.
God I love it!! Is it weird that I almost cried in the end??? Everything is so beautiful and the people are so obedient, so different from my country! It's so beautiful how they help nature's cycles and preserve the stunning nature they have (:
one of the best documentaries I've seen.. Hopefully i can visit the one of the beautiful place on Earth the "SATOYAMA JAPAN" a millions of THANK YOU for uploading this VIDEO.. GOD BLESS
I love all the positive comments here! This has to be the most peaceful and caring page on all of adtube. Well, except for the 433 who gave this a thumbs down, I guess they want different things in life. Its just so amazing to see them working hard, living together, working together and not a damn computer in sight! It's shangri-la, or as close as you can get, for me anyway. Greetings from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. :)
sanguro is the best. he love the balance of nature. i am watching now while talking to my son and wife in the philippines. i am here now in abroad. working also the balance of nature in saudi....
This was the most beautiful documentary ever. Didn’t want it to end! The nature, the people, the narrator, video everything was so beautiful and beautifully done. Thank you
Kanugrahan SJ I also come from Indonesia and am studying environmental policy in Japan. Seeing Satoyama videos make me both sad due to our current reality and also hopeful for Indonesia's potential to grow sustainably like this...
The world should learn from this. Many areas are protected in Japan. This is why Japan is not only beautiful but healthy. It is important as we advance as a civilization that we retain laws that protect our natural environments. Nature must be respected if we are to survive otherwise I fear future generations will become progressively sicker mentally and physically. We must start with the young and teach that we should strive to give more than we take.
all you need is to grow your own food and be self sustained, going vegan just tops it off, there you go youve gone from contributing to the destruction of the world to fixing all of the worlds problems in your own backyard by not causing them and instead enhancing the ecosystem and playing your role as a seed spreader, you dont need to learn from anyone but your own basic conscious, trying to block out the brainwash is the hard part, in this time we are all raised as parasites, but its getting better :)
watching this documentaries are like meditating and relax, so strange that feel nostalgic yet never even live in these area. certainly not an instant act to build harmonious life like this
Truly inspirational how life cycle revolves n how these Japanese has became a part of the ecosystem. Watching these made my day. It was a motivation to watch these. Best documentary ever man Keep up the good work
This literally brought a tear to my eye. Why can we not escape from the pain of modern society and go back to a time when this was the normal way of life for everyone? I want to live a life like this. But this could never work in a place like America. Someone would be there to shit in the water and screw everything up just for fun... most likely the government.
I watched this doc long ago, but I was a lot younger not just physically, but also mentally. I have just finished watching it for the second time. I am in Yerevan waiting impatiently for another chapter of my life to take off and in my hotel room. My little daughter was frantic and I decided to play something soothing yet interesting to watch. I type in David Attenborough into the RU-vid search and this pops up as the first result. I am very peaceful and my head is straight and cool again. Thank you.
i always enjoy these stories with scenery they are very refreshing and fascinating they are simple and serene pictures and stories. They are beautiful.
Honestly Love the Simplicity of this Living. Just Pure and Simple things and thats what they are Greatful for and at the Same Time they Respect Nature, taking only what they need and also share their earnings back with Nature. Let places remain like this i reckon, the Simple Life
