I've got a concussion and broke my nose on this show. Nevertheless i headbanged if there was no tomorrow. After it i didn't go to the ambulance, but was continuing making party with my friends and a lot of alcohol till sunday. This show was on friday! When i came home on monday, i was completely beside me and litarally totally destroyed. Seriously, since this festival, i regularly have sleep paralysis. Good times...
@@buceadorcosmico8218 nah, theres many bands much more intense beatwise than Slipknot, but their songwriting gets you more hyped. The build ups, the breathers, the easily followable by the crowd lyrics; its just another level.
Dude..call me weird but...I love his voice in vol 3 as much as in Iowa. It’s different but good different. Even Corey gives himself shit for his voice On vol 3 and I don’t get it..I mean...AHIG and grey chapter were a lot worse than anything before
Alex Sanchez It’s different, but I love how he sounds on Vol 3. I also like how he still has grittiness in his voice when he sings. But I also think he sounds like a fucking BEAST on AHIG.
@@KolaTheBear Nop not anymore.Btw i ain't say he is not still wicked, but his voice it's not that wicked as in past,my opnion anyway, but u can watch for expample Dynamo 2000(that have lame quality but still its dope) live slipknot or the one in london in 2001 if im not wrong(i write iowa live and it appears). His voice the past years it's..hhmm...hhmm...seems a bit weak to me ofc.Nothing like 1999-2007 maybe 2008,this is my opinion only.
The amount of screaming he was doing for Iowa fucked his voice up, and it was going through a fair amount of strain during vol 3. He then got vocal reconstruction surgery which is why he sounds so different in AHIG and Grey Chapter
Colin Wilborn I swear I heard that somewhere, that he fucked his voice up on Iowa, it was fucked all the way through Vol 3 (although it doesn't really show in the album, it shows in the live shows and on Come What(ever) May), and then he went through surgery or some other procedure to get it fixed, which is why it was different for AHIG and Gray Chapter
He surely fucked up his voice on iowa period because he was alcoholic and was singing like a maniac, This is why every live they had back then was even better than the studio version... But I don't know about the surgery. But the fact is that his voice changed and he sings this way right now cause he destroyed it (thank God he did, otherwise we wouldn't have these 2 perfect albums) in iowa period.
This being in black and white makes it even cooler in my opinion as being ART. But this right here is one of the best live songs ever recorded. It's 2020 this is like 16 years old but this is what music is
i've watched an interview of corey. he said he now didn't like these kinds of scream that's why he now has heavier screams. but personally this version of his screams are the best..
I don't see a difference in the energy level of this and what they do now... Joeys energy tbh went down the shitter but Corey Jim Clown Sid Craig Chris and mick still all headbang their asses off and walk around on stage like they do here. I mean mick can't lean over as much cuz he fucked up his back a while ago, but he def still headbangs
This era was Slipknot's live prime imo. Corey got his singing voice and was still screaming. I still love them just as much now, but I think vol. 3 was their best live period.
It was great but I prefer the more guttural screams from Corey during the Iowa cycle (Good example is People = Shit, London 2002 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u6ZtHrWiSAk.html)
Chris is a better percussionist than Shawn !! Shawn looks like he’s barely learning the songs !! Plus he’s always struggling live he’s usually tired by 3rd song in concert
You aren't the only one. One time I did it so hard I slammed my head into my monitor and completely destroyed it, it split in half and had cracks around where I hit it. Song kept playing so I didn't bother fixing it till it was done.
Does anyone know y corey changes screams between Iowa, and vol 3, Iowa was alot darker with deeper growls and screams, while vol 3 has a more higher, frantic pitch, idk what it is, vocal ware? substance abuse? Idk
Nah, he blew out his vocals on Iowa and changed it because of that and alcohol. He was doing a horrible screaming technique and if he kept it up he would not be able to scream
Slipknot were icons in what`s called Nu-metal, Slipknot are a band that displays therapy in the rawest, most brutal form, through sheer screaming, headbanging and jumping`til you pass out from exhaustion, pure therapy, really ironic if you think about it, what pushes me over the edge do to something insane, Slipknot are the first who make me do it, in other words, Slipknot helps me, when so many bash Metal for turning kids into freaks and crazies, not Slipknot, hell no. \M/
