Nice seeing progress on this project, because setbacks are also progress! There are two things I would want to suggest that can hopefully help; From what it looks like on the video it seems you are using plastic FPC connectors. When shielding, try to ground the aluminium foil you are shielding with your GND plane on both PCB's, if i remember my theory correct having the foil in a "floating" state can reflect EMI and make the HDMI signals look even worse. I would also suggest looking at making your own Flexible PCB at PCBWay. There should be calculators online to help you calculate required differential and single line impedance for the cable. Still very impressed by the project, couldn't have done it myself on a hobby basis. Keep it up!

Plastic FPC, you mean the white one? And I grounded the foil with one side of the PCB, I might have to test it grounding with both sides. As for the designing my own FPC, I am looking into it. As I never done it before I want to learn how to do it in KiCAD, also they are expensive $110 for 10, for anyone who wants to replicate the project, that would be expensive.

@@mutantCybernetics I understand, and i was looking at the connectors you used for connecting the PFC's, from what i have seen shielded PFC cables uses PFC connectors made with a metal interlock to ensure good grounding with the shield. But as long as you find other ways to ground the shield then this shielding solution should work! Do hope you find a solution to this, keep it up!

@@TheHareidGamer thanks for the suggestions. i will test the fpc with proper grounding and make a video. If i build custom FPC then i will ground them using the pins in the connector, don't want to use fancy metal ones to save cost and availability. if you join me in the discord, youtube is not good for chatting.
