Seeing Brad smile during this song made my night!! I am almost 67 years old, and I am a maggot! My 9 year old granddaughter sings their songs with me!!
That’s awesome. I’m 17 and saw them for the first and my second concert ever last week. I was finally able to convince my parents to let me go and it was awesome.
I'm with ya Vickie. I'm 57, we're old enough that we were able to see them when they were young and total maniacs on stage. Last time I saw them was in 2019 at the Rock festival Louder Than Life. I was 54, and finally crowd surfed for my 1st time during their set. Was awesome.
From interviews, Corey said it was about his battle with depression, how it was tearing him down, but he never took his own life inspite of how bad it got, and that he's ready to let go of that frame of mind he was in
Corey hasn't sold his soul tho cuz he believes in god 😅 so ain't no way he's gonna sell his soul.... But wait wait I think the line " I'll never kill myself to save my soul " meaning I'll never take my life just to please the enemy and end up in hell I don't know but that's how I have an understanding of that line
Slipknot is a weird one. I didnt really like heavy music but I liked Duality, then I heard one more "commerical-ish" song and liked that. Then you just get accustomed to the sound and end up being more open to enjoying all their songs. I guess thats why record labels pay to have their music on rotation on radio stations, the more you hear it the more you get familar with the sounds, leading to you probably liking it.
Once you get used to it and can understand what he’s saying it’s awesome. Their first album dropped when I was a sophomore in high school in 1999. Getting to see them live last night was a bucket list moment. I love watching people discover them.
corey is a master wordsmith he is amazing at being cryptic and poetic with his lyrics, you should listen to his other band stone sour too, btw you guys are awesome keep up the good work
Oh wow Brad ...you nailed it on this one bro. You are becoming one of the Maggots. This is a cracking track from a cracking album. I think you have blown Lex's mind when there was a little headbang 👍🤣. You guys are special people .. you make me smile all the time. Love your reactions and channel. Peace guys 👍✌️🤘☮️
IMHO this song screams taking back your personal power. Finally having the strength to let go of something you clung so tightly to that it was practically a spiritual experience. I have no clue what he is referring to specifically but I can imagine it was extremely cathartic for him. It is almost like he would do something so unthinkable that it could damn his soul, but he wouldn't end his life to save it even if that was the case. In the official video, he walks through a church and then walks out the front doors after setting the statue of himself on fire. I wonder if this was a long-overdue song to the people who practically sainted him and subsequently martyred him?, or if it is further commentary on the music industry and how they treat musicians? It is like Manson said "They love you when you're on all the covers. When you're not, then they love another". "Reaching out for the hand of God, but did you think you'd shake your own?" Has to be one of my favorite lyrics of all-time. This reminds me of another song called "Gateways" it is by a Norwegian Symphonic Black Metal Band named "Dimmu Borgir" (Dim-you Boar-gear). You should check them out.
Hed PE varies so much, think they should start with Church of Reality or Broke album songs. Wouldn't want them to react to CBC and then never listen to them again lmao.
I saw you guys reacted to a few excellent Gojira songs, but you really should React to "Silvera" and "Stranded" which are two of the biggest hits this amazing band has.
You guys should react to uncle Tom's cabin - Warrant more chill story telling vibes if u like rap and never heard Ronnie radke would like to know opinions
@@caseyplace1115 I went with my dad and his friend and son so me and my dad got the shot card and they forged theirs, so in other words you need proof you got a shot
With Halloween coming up you guys should check out some Skynd videos. They're.....well I don't know how to explain the music other than they do songs about True Crime stories, and definitely fit that Halloween vibe. "Tyler Hadley" and "Gary Heidnik" featuring Jonathan Davis from Korn are their best songs.
Dude. Brad. Bring lex to metal show. You tell us what's coming up in your area and we will send you to best safe one possible. 😎 Being safe excluding the Pit. No pit.
Of my favourite metal bands of the 21st century, Slipknot is definitely the most straight-forward heavy-metal (the other two being System Of A Down and Within Temptation). I could listen to those three bands on a loop for a good long while, I think. 😉
You need to look up asylum by vended. It's a band made by 2 of slipknot members kids. Griffin Taylor (Corey taylor the singer of slipknot son) is the singer and sounds just like his dad
Have you guys done ALL OUT LIFE by SLIPKNOT yet?. If not you guys really should! And i think Brad would like that one as well!. We already know that Lex will like it!. Lol you guys are great! Keep it up!!
This is probably my favorite Slipknot song!! I could listen to it over & over again!! & Brad, it was awesome to see your reaction!!! Would ❤ to see you head bang!!! 💯 Amazing reaction you guys!!
Bruh, I found your page today looking up Slipknot Reactions, and FR Lex is a full hearted headbanger, and Brad is a repressed metalhead. I love the few videos I have watched, but I am a sub from now on!
@Brad & Lex This song is obviously about depression. Nero Forte is also another song on the recent album "We Are Not Your Kind" which also deals with depression.
All out life is some more good Slipknot. This maybe an unpopular opinion but I think Stone Sour's House of Gold and Bones albums are some of his most poetic lyrics and "jamming" songs. I don't consider it metal but definitely great Hard Rock.
Slipknot is often grouped in with My Mental largely because they don't do typical guitar solos even though they have an excellent lead, Jim Root who was also in Stone Sour with Corey. Nu Metal had a trend of dissing the solos that made bands like Metallica and Megadeth. Probably why Brad likes Slipknot. Korn too. No solos.
If you want to check out another harder band, you should go down the rabbit hole that "In This Moment" leads you down. Definitely start with "The In-Between" and go from there!
Sometimes the blasphemous lyrics overshadows the music. As a man, I can’t get with this sacrilegious message. Can’t hold hands with this one. I choose God. Gotta guard what we let into our senses. Truth can’t be cast aside for feathers that tickle the ear. This one’s a hard pass for me. Lex, the devil horns degrade you. God bless and Metal on.
Uh......... That song pretty much sucked. It had a moment or two that sounded all right but over all.... lame. Out of all they songs that Brad and Lex have reacted to, this would be the last one that I would have thought Brad would like. I'm not fond of the cookie monster singers.
Ayyye can y’all react to Sevendust - waffle 🧇 It’s pretty dope I think y’all would love it also if you can will y’all do the live version from Conan o brien show ? To anybody else reading this look it up their badass
You kids and your rock and roll! 😂 if you haven't listened to any Blue October yet, I highly recommend them. Fear, hate me today are good starter's songs. Justin the band founder and front man is a talented dude.
Corey and Shawn Crahan “Clown” are lyrical geniuses. Awesome head piece Lex, and Brad this was the closest we have got to you letting out your inner metal head. You two rock!!
You want melodic? Try some 'Amon Amarth.' 'Fate of Norns' is a good song to start with. Do a lyric video. You won't have to wait for the beat to drop with this band, trust me.
I had a friend that w/ every conversation we ever had, the girl would make it about how bad she was doing. She helped and saved my life due to my demons and depression. But after she got that leverage I always felt I owed her. She saved my life, so no amount of money or time was never enough. She would bring it up, knowing my ego to obligation would make me bend. I spent well over a 1/4 million dollars on this girl and time too, before I had to say I had enough. It wasn't her fault it was me. That ego wasn't good for me or her so I had to let it go, and stop helping her. At the end of the day, she is no better off: no she can't afford what she has. At the end of the day it ends up in a pawn shop or traded in for shitty stuff she can afford and pay bills.
lex is either fake or the greatest secret rock fan in the world by how she acts, loves and wants all music, super intelligent ... brad is focused, absorbing and analytical, sorry drunk rant you guys r so much more you guys r one and the same all traits vice-versa
Please, Please, Please go to a Slipknot concert. It is the best concert I've ever been to, and the energy when these songs kick in is amazing. Seeing 20k people go nuts and have a blast to this is something you have to experience at least once.
