Getting large donations like that on streaming can actually be incredibly scary. Depending on the platform, if the people donating request a refund, the content creator might actually have to pay a fee to send the money back, and they can't stop it. Word to the wise, read the platform's return policy and if you're on the hook for return fees and see something that might be a scam, better to return the money yourself, before the person donating asks for a refund.
That's not wholesome.... have you seen how online scams like this work? Whne you randomly come across a large sum of money from a guy, especially one who seems to have "nothing to lose" and makes you create a crypto wallet or open a new bank account in YOUR name to recieve the money... you wanna do a rain check on that. Or in other words, If you receive a random check in the mail for $3000, don't cash that check. SOMEONE'S bank is gonna go after YOU for that $3000 YOU stole from them. and even if it was legitimate, it sounds like this kid doesn't know how crypto trading works, so there's high risk that he won't be able to handle taxes, he's probably a holder.
He has deep pockets, too much free time and decided once, that for a second there he could have a heart too lol doing charity once in a blue moon and joining a charity as a full time volunteer are 2 vastly different things. But he got a story and the buzz he aimed for.
If not for the govt stepping in, a LOT of traders online would be owning most of the real estate in the US and jacking up prices. There's a reason this stuff is taxed, to PREVENT rampant inflation from grifting like this.
@@MarioMastar 1. This isn't grifting. 2. This isn't causing inflation in any conceivable way. 3. The government "stepping in" is why the economy is in a slump. We've had numerous examples in the past. Government taxation is choking the economy. When government cuts taxes, tax revenue always goes up, which is clear proof that taxation is doing far more harm than good.
Jesus loves you❤ Turn to him❤ He was beaten and spit on and died for you in the cross❤ He has more forgiveness than we do sin❤ so please I beg you go and repent apologize for your sin and confess it and praise the lord ☦️☦️☦️ Spread the word please 🙏❤️❤️ L
Imagine still thinking someone who invests in Bitcoin is a loser in 2024 🤡😂 this is as stupid as calling someone who invests in Walmart stock a loser. All they do is invest in something they believe. How does that make them a loser? You people are so stupid Jesus. Enjoy your inflating garbage US dollar!
I'm old okay I find these stories actually heartwarming because you hear about so much crime and other things you don't want to talk about. What a nice story😊
I know a few streamers who do this. Just go out, find a random person with no one watching them and then donate money. It is wholesome to watch and always puts a smile on my face.
You know thousands of people do this daily for causes that matter, like doctors without borders and oxfam? Those are the real heroes, not bored millionaires using their time to fill their ego with minute pointless "acts of charity".
@@daysofend I understand where you're coming from and you might be completely right but I think this was more like streamers helping streamers. Twitch can be a really tight community. I mean, $85,000 to that dude probably changed his life. Chances are high that if that crypto dude is doing this for follow aspiring streamers, he (most likely) donates to actual causes as well. I guess I just feel like there's not much reason to be bitter about it going to a singular person/family. Let's not forget, that total amount was from a few different people enjoying the hell out of this man's stream.
@@anthropicPanda The act in isolation isn't negative in itself, arguably. However, I've known crypto people for a long time, and while they're not all the same, I draw a hardline on the double standards preached by early bitcoiners. They're essentially a defect of the system. They also advocate for anti-government policies (ironic), anti-tax, and anti-central banks, which are all the things that enabled them to exist in the first place. Everything they touch eventually turns to s because, in principle, they don't add value, just extract. Only a few marginal groups focused on cross-border payments do something relatively positive.
It's a symptom of the rot of capitalism. Why should a druggie feel he has to bless some random person on Twitch? If you don't know, the answer if to fill up a void, get attention, or feel a power high. If they really want to make a change they should just pay taxes and stop making money off of speculation and instead do something productive.
That's not how taxes work. Twitch takes a 1% fee and IRS takes 15% max depending on the amount. But if you make less than $500k it's not really taxed that much. Also at the time crypto wasn't taxable.. learn your fake news before disputing it.
Man, every time you guys talk about taxes, I become so happy of not being born in America, and because of that, my taxes are automatically paid, and they are not that much.
True definition of luck. There are probably many more people on Twitch that have been playing an instrument that well for many years and still get almost no viewers
@@dziewiaty Literally there are so many people who've been doing it for years with almost nothing to show for it. Random acts of kindness don't maks for good justice.
See THIS is the kinda thing the Internet was made for, to connect people and to bless on another! Wish we could see this sort of stuff more often and it be done with good intentions instead of ulterior motives
You do pretty well with your content choice. Of all the ppl that post stuff similar to this, you are the most well spoken and not annoying. Keep up the good work my dude.
strangers will selflessly help a stranger on the internet, but will take everything and not even offer simple kindness to people in person. this world is so lost
You are one of the best shorts I come across you take time to find interesting things and share them and they are things I don't see repeated over and over again. Good job for taking this seriously!!
