Whenever someone says they don't really like Franky it makes me sad... I feel he's such a fun character but the one straw hat with the most wasted potential.
Franky probably had the biggest timeskip downgrade. Pre ts franky was one of my favorite straw hats, he had such a good balance of rough attitude, looking cool, and acting silly, but now he’s just silly
They all are likeable. But you will always like some more than others. Now that I think about it, Kizaru is a bad matchup for the strawhats. What was Franky even going to do against a Logia? Besides Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Jinbei none of them can even touch him.
I wasn't excited for him at all when I heard about him. But the second this dude showed up with his own God damn introducing made me go "I take everything back you are my new favorite character"
@@pandaman1331 this was in response to the point in the video where he said he likes Franky the least... and also why I said Franky has the most wasted potential as he isn't bound by a lot of normal settings since he can modify his body artificially to fight and have the upper hand. Case in fact he can utilize sea stone into his exterior to increase his effectiveness against fruit users...
To oversimplify things a bit: Sakazuki seems like a guy who has done horrible things because he believed that the end justifies the means. Now he sees that the end is "snobby Celestial Dragons want more lobster meals" rather than "the seas are safe after pirates have been thoroughly magma-fisted." ...and this is causing Sakazuki to finally have doubts and wonder if all the brutal justice of his has been worth it.
@@nineten9011 "He doesn't deserve a redemption arc", what nonsense, it's never too late for one to be redeemed so long as they come to genuinely regret their actions and are willing to redeem themselves and do better, not to say that I think Akainu himself will do that, at least for now (I'd much rather he stay the course that he's been on for however long now), but redemption is an option all the same. You saying that he doesn't deserve redemption is not for you to decide. And I've no doubt that Akainu can see the Celestial Dragons for what they are, especially since he did insult the Gorosei straight to their faces by saying that they've been walked over by the Celestial Dragons' puppets (Cipher Pol).
@@indio4-215I highly doubt he'll regret most of the things he did. Mostly Ohara, but killing pirates and criminals are still righteous actions for him, be there a Celestial or not
@@kristophesiem5336 I'm aware of that, as I did say that I don't think Akainu will come to regret his actions, at least for now (I've been wrong before), I was simply saying that redemption IS an option, but I'll wait and see how things play out for Akainu.
@@indio4-215 I've never seen redemption for someone who's led mass genocide before, I don't think you have a point here, yes they can do something good but that does not redeem them at all, it's like Pain from naruto, he may have revived everyone but he killed everyone in the leaf village making him the biggest criminal of their time.
Yea i felt like kizaru did that cuz luffys jet culverin attacks was too annoying for kizaru to deal with, he could of blitz luffy at close range but oda isnt using real world light speed in this fight so luffy wouldnt have went far enough for kizaru to shake him off, its a testament to how strong luffy still is in his snakeman imo
I feel this particular event can be correlated to the Onigashima battle, when he just tanked through Big Mom's flames and his only explanation on "How?" was "Guts!". In turn, this whole aspect of Luffy just tanking through damage and not caring about it can possibly be correlated to Blackbeard's particular approach to getting hurt.
One thing I like about this channel, they get straight into the Manga and tell the story, not spend an extra 15 minutes talking about "what-ifs", speculations and 20-year-old facts we already know.
I feel like the reason the iron giant didnt awaken during luffy vs lucci was just that luffy wasnt trying hard enough, aka his heart beat wasnt fast/loud enough to power the robot, but now that hes fighting against kizaru hes using a lot more of his power
I figured that the iron giant is only waking up now because it needs to hear the heartbeat of Joyboy/Nika to awaken...and as Luffy is in his Gum-Gum Giant form, his heartbeat is loud enough to be heard by the Iron Giant
my own opinion?...like how I think that the allies of joyboy have some direct connection to Nika which is why their eyes have a distinct glow whenever they hear the drums of liberation, with it acting as a boost to them letting them fight on with Zunesha it would essentially disable his one rule of needing to be commanded@@Mavuika_Gyaru
Or its becuz oda is using the drums of liberation as a plot device, he did it with it zuniesha on wano and is doing it now that vegaforce one is out of the picture, oda wanted to paint a beautiful picture of the iron giant inheiriting vegaforce's one will and or luffy keeping vegapunks dream alive when kizaru bragged about killing it
I also find it interesting how each of the admirals react to the ungrateful celestials. Like Akainu acknoleged they were there, but didnt even react to the insults. To me, it seems like his absolute justice made him see celestials as nothing more than human shaped blobs that he has a duty to protect
Whoa whoa whoa WHAT?! You dont like Franky?!? How can you not after he straight up drove a MOTORCYCLE into big moms face WHILE saying “oh….I thought you were going to trample a flower” WHILE ALSO yelling at the rest of the raid party for being afraid to fight big mom. Total. Badass.
What’s specifically interesting about the idea of akainu projecting, is that he says “you’ve lost your will, your mind, everything. You’re a damned puppet now.” The idea of him losing his will is especially interesting because of how important will power is in the form of haki. What if the job he fought so hard to achieve isn’t just keeping him bored and subservient, but also making him a bit weaker?
Eventually, Fleet Admiral Sakazuki will snap and have to launch a coup against the obnoxious World Nobles and apply Absolute Justice on them as well, no exceptions.
would be weird as the World Government would lose a lot of power if even the Marines is also attacking them. Imagine a Yonko crew(perhaps), the whole Marines and Revolutionary against World Govt
I’m really glad you brought up the idea of Sakazuki splinter cell-ing because where in the world does Lucci fall after all of this? I feel like he and Sakazuki would really get along well
Kizaru reminds me of a cop I saw during the 2020 protests in America where he threw someone down while shouting that he hated doing "riot control" but he kept grinning and chuckling every now and again
I dont see Kizaru smiling or giggling during this mission. I think he genuinely feel bad he has to kill his long known friend and his own student. Its just his face is always like that.
@@etinarcadiaego7424 If the distinguishing line between protests and riots are the amount of violence, then the actions in 2020 were overwhelmingly protests, with most of those that escalated to riots being due to police starting the violence.
Speaking as a physics major, Kizaru does not conform to real world lightspeed in the slightest. Light is a bizarre phenomena that just... is. We don't even know what light really is at a fundamental level. But it doesn't accelerate, it has no mass, so it just exists at this impossible speed forever.
The fact that logic fruits are equal to thier nature means kizaru is lightspeed which is a bit odd cause he is definitely faster than luffy who is faster than light
i want to add to the light thing that light indeed does travel at different speeds, that what we call the speed of light is the speed of light in a vacuum the moment you introduce stuff like atmosphere or liquids the speed of light slows down so that would mean that kizaru would only be able to travel at light speed in space and not in a atmosphere filled eggbrain building
I have been thinking about Kizaru and his attacks. I think Kizaru has to solidify the limb he uses to attack and that limb is going to take some rebound damage from the impact, so he coats the limb in armament haki to negate that. But there has to be a limit to the amount of damage he negates, so that is why he has to accelerate and doesn´t actually move at the speed of light. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk about imaginary fantastic pirates.
@@mokaljordan did he even lose it or was it just burned? I don't remember if there was a picture without the leg and the one where it was in the lava didn't exactly show it being burned off, just engulfed by lava.
@@outandabout259 i assume that he lost his foot since oda drew that panel in the first place and he lost part of head so its a logical assumption but its possible that its still intact especially if oda changes his mind next chapter or wanted us to think kuma lost his foot for some reason
Sakazuki in this chapter shower me he has more in common with kizaru than we realize. Both are soldiers who do what theyre told without much question or opposition even if they dont agree.
Since the chapter came out I’ve been studying up on the whole acceleration thing… my best guess is light moves at different speeds at different environments… the standard speed of light is through a vacuum, which is the fastest standard.. but say if light goes through water it slows down a tad.. maybe he can choose the speed his light goes. Another theory is he is going the speed of lightning. lightning actually moves 1/3 the speed of light
@@bluntslt8023 the speed of light thing I learned in chemistry class in college, different mediums can slow down light… the speed of lightning thing I was just knew from a documentary I think.. but I am no expert, i failed the fuck out of physics the next year lol
It’s obvious Zunisha and the robot were the Chopper and Franky of the Joyboy crew. Now we just have to wait until they introduce the rest of the Joy hat crew
do you think kuma agreed to be turned into a robot in exchange for bonney to be protected? that would make sense as to why akainu set her free and how even saturn doesnt want to capture her.
Is... Is Kuma looking for Bonney? Last time he was even near her, it was indeed in the Holy Land. Once he was rescued, his last bit of humanity send him to the last place he remembered being near her, then upon finding out she wasn't there, he is off to check for her somewhere else. Potentially Egghead. I hate that I can picture Kuma's last seconds smiling over Bonney as he potentially protects her from something devastating. He'd just be smiling at her as she takes Kuma's will and either joins the straw hats/straw hat grand fleet, joins the revolutionaries, or does something significant to help Monkey D. luffy and crew to a massive positive outcome.
A lot of times devil fruit powers effect living things and the user themself differently. Like how shiki could use his float fruit on any inanimate objects, but not people with the sole exception of himself.
I don’t think he can rubberize people super well. He only did it on kaido for like two attacks and only around his fist. I don’t think he can fully turn you into rubber for any extended period of time
10:30 Gear 5 Luffy can just run through the air after throwing the thousand sunny. We saw it in the fight with Kaido. I mean, he can do anything at this point.
Akainu using the same move on Kuma as Whitebeard brought back PTSD also those celestial dragons jeezus man the lobster can't be that good lol plus Elbaf is really gonna set off the war I think
what if the reason kizaru needs to charge up his speed is because a soul weighs 21 grams so he is technically not pure light and has his soul which is why he's talking about not wanting to kill his old friends. What if his soul becomes heavier because of the internal struggle between duty and love 😮
Logias are a bit tricky to apply physics too because we know so little about then, but if we assume conservation of energy still applies and the kisaru does not seem to get to places instantly, then we can probably say that the photos that kizaru has have mass. The speed of light is only that because photons dont have mass so that would fix that problem but im sure a photon with mass would imply a bunch of other problems
I honestly love it. Not to say he's a good guy, but seeing Sakazuki be humanized, showing doubt etc is awesome. It's something I've wanted for years and I'm wondering how far Oda will go with it.
If I’m being 100% honest I’m not really expecting ussop to rly have his elbaf moment bc zoro never had his on wano franky never had his on egghead so i feel like we don’t have the time for it
Maybe the reason Kizaru doesn’t move at the speed of light is because he needs to change body back to solid in order to attack. If he kicked at the true speed of light with his solid leg it would probably atomize his limb so he attacks at the highest speed he can without destroying his body
nah its plotholes Oda had to nerf him, If Kizaru light powers really follow the reality of light, he is extremely powerful and no one can stop him he could circle around the world in less than a sec !
@deltinwozniak8533 Study English please. Your sentence is actually very different from what a real sentence comprises so any message your trying convey will be recurrently misunderstood. (Also, the speed of light is covered in basic astronomy). Anyway I do love a good bit of fictitious storytelling, don't you?
Kuma probably took "something" from Mariejoa and teleported to Egghead and he is the one who activated the ancient robot using that "something" which was kept in Mariejoa.
Maybe the robot woke up because Luffy became a giant and the original Joyboy was a giant. Maybe the only reason Zunesha heard his heartbeat so clearly was because of the big ears 😂😂😂
For how I see it Kizaru's power doesn't alter in any way his mind so he can act/react only to the speed his nervous system can handle normally....Very fast with a keep usage of observation haki but nowhere even relativistic speeds... If I remember right the only time Kizaru actually moves at light speed is when he uses Yata no Kagami (no relationship with the technique by the way) to build a light bridge and then move in it as light. If this hypotesis is correct Borsalino's speed is similar to how Killua's Hatsu works...he can or go to the limits of his mind speed ignoring some body limitations, or going still faster pre-programming the movement beforehand
Kizaru going back this far is more about being unbothered aiming his target as he can only travel in a straight line and therefore has to hit the right spot at the right time. After that he can't be dodged but the aim is important.
Thing is... if you want to overthink Kizaru, you are going to end up down a big old rabbit hole of infeasability. Better to just let him be Whilst yes if he becomes light and therefore travels at light speed then there shouldn't need to be a wind up. But if he is made of light, then he no longer has pretty much any mass and will just bounce off everything, and at worst make people release a few electrons. If he retains his mass at light speed then A transitioning that mass to lightspeed instantaneously within an atmosphere would kill everything on the planet. Because the energy required to do that is just dumb. Pretty much no matter what ideas you apply this man breaks. Better just to live with the idea that he becomes the element of light, not the natural phenomena. And is able to reflect off things and zip around at unreasonable speeds. Last I checked rubber doesn't stretch hundreds of times it own length without loosing any thickness nor is it perfectly immune to electricity. The DF powers are a manifestation of a set of powers based upon a concept that someone desired to have. They are not as litteral as we all instinctualy think them to be.
Trueee none of the things we see In the series makes a lick of sense no human can cut steel, no one can punch apart buildings, no one can lift several times their weight etc. Just because it's just the physical limits of a human in our world. it just makes as much of a sense as someone going faster than light while being light.
@@ye7625Those 2 things make vastly different amounts of sense. The limits on physical power of humans is not really a fundamental law of physics, but an emergent property of our structure. Light being able to accelerate is however.
@@victorumgh7575 okay but there's no explanation for powers like enel where does it come it how is it being generated there's no conversion of energies for it just seemingly comes out of nothing which if I recall is the same level of universal impossibility as going at speed of light. My point being bringing in real life physics makes no sense since it's a fictional setting where impossible things are already happening and there's no difference wether it's a physical limitation or a universal rule since it's both equally nonsensical to try to equate to real life physics because it's a fictional story with its own separate rules it's quite literally a fundamental part of a fiction and we as readers just simply suspend disbelief I can't believe that going at the speed of light is the limit for people and not the other times where it doesn't makes sense.
@@ye7625 The possibility that devil fruits draw energy from ‚somewhere else‘ and not nowhere still exists. I will however admit that the physics of one piece seem to work differently than our own on a fundamental level. I just had a problem with the specific argument.
@@victorumgh7575 it's not just "seem different" it outright doesn't for example where do people get the energy to do movement techniques like geppo? Geppo allows cp agents to jump on air a feat minimum of going mach 15 that's something they can casually do. This action likely consumes so much calories for energy that any normal humans would die let alone them doing it without them getting torn to bits.
Maybe just like we've seen with the Zoan dinosaur devil fruits, Kizaru's DF doesn't operate as actual light would but rather how someone with limited knowledge of actual physics imagined or dreamt being made out of light would be.
I think that Kuma put his personality into the ancient robot/switched his personality with the robot. It would explain why Kuma is attacking the Holy Land and why Kuma's memories were in the labosphere
Headcanon: The vegaforce was destroyed and the "soul" went into the iron giant. VP knows the devil fruit mechanic, makes sense it'd be used a little bit in his work
Just an observation about Kizaru's speed. Nothing can move faster than light in the vaccum (space for example), but in the air, watter etc. It is slower.
I kinda hope Franky either gets really depressed that his lazers are an inferior version of Kizaru's devil fruit motivating him to upgrade or preferably I want Frankys body to get almost completely wrecked than he uses Vegapunks tech, the iron giant and pluton to upgrade.
About the Lightspeed Kizaru thing. If I recall my loose grasp on the physics at play the reason why a lightspeed hit at close proximity does less damage than a lightspeed hit at long range is because of the inertia. It takes energy to stay at lightspeed and the more energy at play can be converted back to mass as per the e=mc^2 formula. There is a second possibility which is that Kizaru can't hit lightspeed but just get closer to it the longer he spends as a traveling light beam. In which case he acts more like an ion engine.
Actually kizaru's attacks would have the force of 2-3 Czar bombs per impact which is city ending, although him moving around the speed of light would have an enormous force of energy when he decided to stop moving FTL
It makes sense for Franky to get something since a majority of Straw Hats got something in the New World: Luffy has Gear 5 Zoro has Enma Nami has Zeus Sanji has the Raid Suit (and now the Germa enhancements) Usopp has his new God reputation and Observation Haki Chopper has a highly improved Monster Point Yet Robin, Franky and Brook haven’t gotten something in the New World and they’re due something
@@itonomiakagi4403 but can easily be argued that she did that in her training during the time-skip. She hasn’t gained or received something since the time-skip
So luffy grabs sunny, nami says elbaf this direction, luffy stretches leaves crew in elbaf shore, before luffy releases sunny luffy doeos gomu gomu no rocket holding onto the sunny and diminishing his size then luffy rockets to elbaf which will land on the daugther of the king of elbaf almost killing her. AND BOOM MUGIWARAS ARE IN ELBAF AND WE GOT SOME MUGIWARA ACCIDENTAL DRAMA GOING ON to start elbaf excitingly
Are you sure Bonnie was kicked into the frontier dome? Looked more like she dodged or rolled out of the way and what hit the done was a laser shot from Kizaru's kick.
My head canon for the glint glint fruit not causing world destruction with a single kick is that light is weightless, so maybe he only goes partially light so that he can continue to have mass and therefore have more impact (even tho pure light would also transfer momentum) but yeah idk, also explains why he doesn’t actually travel at light speed
I'm not super familiar with how the dreams of people affected the creation of devil fruits but maybe the person who thought of kizaru could only imagine moving as fast as kizaru does.
Maybe Kizaru *can* move at the speed of light, but his mind and thoughts can’t go as fast as that, which explains why he can’t launch light-speed attacks, he wouldn’t know how to control them.
Kizaru's light speed attacks and such all have to deal with the fact that he has to 1 turn into light, and 2 actually hit what he is aiming at. Remember in Sabody where he used a move to shine a light to bounce off of various buildings before almost instantly teleporting to Apoo? That was because while he can move at basically light speed, he doesn't have the reactions to match, so taking a moment to properly aim was needed. On top of that, with however the fruit power translates the conversion from photons to conventional mater, that probably informs the actual ratio of speed to mass. Kizaru probably would be hard pressed to actually pull off a reletivistic attack because he would either slow down when transitioning back from light, or tear himself appart mid transition as at that speed just running into air molecules would destroy him. So Kizaru has to balance his own durability- which he has haki to help with, vis how much speed he can retain. Actually going by the attack on Apoo I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually easiest for him to go from basically lightspeed to essentially no speed, letting his tranformation basically act like the worlds best breaks- all of his really hard hits have that weird pixely look where the limb in question is mid transformation from matter to light- So in short, Kizaru likely needs really good timing to actually take advantage of the speed of light, and almost certainly can't actually get that fast due to how the transition from human to light and back effects his speed and mass, and he needs to carefully position himself in order to really take advantage of his speed. So his backing that far off from luffy was probably to take a second to aim properly rather than to build up speed.
I sort of wonder if it will go a classic cartoon ending. So you start thinking about how a looney toons character would fight light, and I feel like it'd end with either bouncing it away with a mirror, or just turning a light switch off.. I genuinely think it might go that way 😂
8:27 it's factually wrong: Speed of Light in vaccum is always the same, but on Earth, the speed of light varies based on the density of the surroundings. SOL in Air is different from SOL in Water for example. Also, if Kizaru actually travels at SOL he will become intangible (Einstein's theory of relativity). That's why lasers also do not travel at SOL because otherwise there will be no impact. Kizaru is traveling at 10% SOL at best most of the times. So he might be trying to raise the bar from 10% to 15% gradually in this process to retain enough mass to actually hit Luffy.
I still think Franky could get a spotlight. Vegapunk was particularly surprised that Franky has been powering everything with cola, which makes sense given that cola is not a super efficient power source and Vegapunk has more modern power sources. The fact that Franky has gotten this far with cola alone means he could even surpass Vegapunk in the future
Kizaru is probably able to move at light speed but when it comes to adding power the movement doesn't necessarily have in affect on the impact like his speed was turned off when he's reached his destination.
It would be cool if as we go through the final saga, we meet all of of Joy Boys nakama through ways like this. We met Zunesha already who has a similar type of loyalty as Zoro by walking for hundreds of years with a world on his back. Maybe this Giant is another crew member that is ran with a soul full metal alchemist style. A 30 meter tall Chopper or Frankie would be cool
I really hope Bonnie becomes a Straw Hat, her chemistry with Luffy is top tier. Also I just want another Straw Hat so we can get to 12 before the Final War.
also, the thing about kizaru's damage output. it NEEDS to be downscaled from reality. even all the theoretical nerfings in place, his output would instantly destroy every island and give everyone cancer if they survived
I cant wait to see the reaction from bartolomeo about luffy being joyboy. In the same shot, the poneglyphs will actually mean more to the crew so hopefully we get a robin rundown on all of them. I wanna know what all 20something glyphs said, its gotta be an amazing story
That “Robot being another friend of Joyboy” could work… if only to play up some concept that an aspect of Joyboy is that he doesn’t discriminate who to let in his crew like Luffy. Like Zunisha was the animal crewmate(Chopper) so the Robot could’ve been their Franky. We don’t have enough info from the chapter to support this but perhaps the next chapters will clarify the robot’s whole deal.
It could be like a megazord situation where the giant and general franky combine into a more powerful robot to defeat their enemies which would be SUPER
Something kizaru could technically probably do is make his light act like radiation, there a story about a man getting hit by the laser from a hadron collider, and it did damage similar to a radiation blast
There's a simple reason why kizaru's attacks aren't planet destructive kicks Cause using mass of kizaru and speed of light to calucate kiletenic energy one attack of kizaru would have island destructive kicks and using haki would be continental
