I love the idea that oda has spent 25 years building this expansive and massive world filled with lore and legends and characters, but never thought about if electricity was common.
Chopper held off queen and that Candyman my boy fought 2 commanders and came out pretty well. Protected the hall until Sanji reappeared. Chopper my raid MVP for all the doctoring of the grunts and zoro
Ussop also had his weapon drawn. Which, with Kizaru's speed and possibly stealth, shouldn't have been possible. This could be one of the few instances of Ussop using Observation Haki by sensing Kizaru before anyone else.
I really hope that one day Luffy's G5 powers are strong enough to effect the manga pages and panels itself, like Kizaru tries to beam away and Luffy just breaks the boarders of the panel to grab him.
When you said “why are you trying to fight the sun with light?” It reminded me of Doofenshmirsz house sitting for another villain, criticizing his evil plan of “to set fire to the sun”
The pacifista are clearly powered by electricity, because when Zoro exposed Kuma’s robot flesh at thriller bark, there were wires, and wires are only needed to transport electricity from part to part. Also energy needs to do several transformations from cola to turn into a radical beam laser, meaning Franky’s cola may possibly turn into electrical energy before it turns into inferred light. (Aka the radical beam)
I think Oda didn't draw the Gorosei's shadow form as darkness not neccesarily because they are dark powers. More likely that he still doesnt have a form in mind for these, and was just drawing slihouettes as placeholders.
Like the original versions of the Yonko and the Warlords, (who were all suspiciously Mihawk shaped) the silhouettes just mean "something important goes here" and we need to wait and see what that something is.
@@jamesemmert742I don’t think so, Oda is notorious for changing silhouettes and a lot of the major aspects of one piece were improvised, such the warlords and the worst generation.
I definitely feel that the reason why Oda is now more willing to kill off characters is because he knows that the story is almost over, he knows that he can’t be pulling any punches anymore, he wants to show that there is danger for our main characters and that they can die.
Similar to the conclusion of the Whole Cake Island arc where a sacrifice was necessary, I believe that in this arc, Sentomaru will unquestionably be accompanying Pedro.
Remember that we were introduced to S-Bear via a discussion regarding them being a "problem child." S-Snake also inhereted Boa's infatuation with Luffy (a theory I thought was guaranteed to go the way of ZKK at the time of their introductions), so S-Bear is absolutely going to help at some point in some Bonnie related fashion.
@@Pogitoed more just getting at background ties between characters that would overwhelm their "programming", I didn't say Ivankov would change S-Croc on Egghead specifically. Fisher Tiger is dead too if we are going to point out things not following the story, I could see King Neptune or Shirahoshi having some effect on S-Shark though if we want to talk about living people.
Me and my mates were discussing this too. I even went back to show where they first showed seraphim control hierarchy. Saturn is definitely stepping in. He has too.
I feel like Wano definitely proved that General Franky isn't invincible. Sasaki was such a nothing character and he was tearing it apart from what I remember. I wonder if Vegapunk will help Franky with some upgrades after this.
@yyyykcalb He was one of the Tobiroppo, the triceratops guy who made his frill spin like a blade and he flew around etc. I don't even think he used Haki at all, he was basically a step up from the goofy SMILE users Oda introduced haha.
Enel's lightning god is supposedly his last resort and if we go by process of elimination of villains doing their awakening's through a last resort seem fitting Well I won't say this is the answer but honestly logia awakening's would probably be crazy
Maybe Kizaru’s ability requires a charge up, so first Kizaru charges, then his ability works at light speed. Perhaps it’s because he needs to plan out his route with utmost care or else he scatters literally everywhere, like light
On sabody he uses a mirror like move to shine a spotlight so he can see where he would go in light form, so I consider this a canon consideration- Kizaru's max speed may basically be the speed of light, but he is limited in practical terms by his reaction time. When he zooms out of the frontier dome before zooming back in during the start of his fight with Luffy, I was pretty sure this was the reason, giving himself a moment to plot out his route, and taking advanage of his speed to let him immediately disengage from the fight so he could plan said route without being destracted by luffy's attacks. His other big speed limitation would be how exactly his fruit's transition from light to person affects his momentum. Photons have next to no mass, so does going from that to his normal human mass have a corresponding reduction in speed. Kizaru's physical attacks (in contrast to his laser based ones) tend to be either plain haki enhanced blows, or hit with him being mid transition from light to person- which I think is due to him dealing with the tradeoff of a beam of light not really having much of a kinetic impact, vs whatever speed and momentum is lost turning back from light. So his strongest hits are done during the transition, turning back from light just in time to maximize the mass to speed ratio of his blows. Really Kizaru being the admiral with connections to vegapunk is a great idea on a number of levels, one of which is how much scientific info would help him use his powers well.
The possibility of the Kuma based guys to be soft or straight obey Bonny is something I didn't think of... cool. It's far more likely than the others interaction clone-characters I proposed before because in this case we are certain that Kuma already had a deep bond with Bonney when the lineage factor was retrieved. For the others we don't know if the samples predates or not the meeting with the StrawHats
I believe toki's fruit might play a role here, given it would have reincarnated 20 years ago and the last time Oda wrote in inconsistencies with a characters age it was toki's fruit at the center of it all. Bonney might have been born some 23 odd years ago but she might have skipped a few of those years. Her fruit would make it so she's able to age herself to her numerical age (current year minus the year she was born) when she's not in water but is reverted to her biological age in sea-water like we saw at the beginning of Egghead. She also seemed to be very much out of the loop as far as what Kuma had been up to over the past few years, like she's trying to fill in the gaps of what happened to her father.. Almost as if she wasn't there to witness or even be given an excuse for it. I keep going back to her being in a child form when she was rescued from the sea eddy.
There are a couple issues with that line of reasoning, unfortunately. Luffy lost strength, but maintained his rubber properties in Arlong Park while underwater. And also, Chopper stays in his "hybrid" form in the water, as opposed to full reindeer form. Both of those are zoans, so it's possible Bonnie's fruit would play by different rules. But this depends on whether Bonnie has to actively maintain use of her power - if she doesn't have to actively use power to maintain an altered age, it makes sense that she wouldn't "revert" in the water.
@@calliopeshif7581 Luffy and Chopper permanently changed the very nature of their biology with their fruits. Something that won't likely be reversed by submersion. If anything it'd be their ability to control their powers that slips under water. Along with them reverting to their lowest energy forms. Her devil fruit powers are temporary when applied to living things. It makes sense that exposure to sea water would accelerate the reversion to biological age.
I agree that fake out deaths is easily the worse thing about One Piece even more than the Pacing, it removes tension from any given scenario and makes the stakes dull by making characters survive un-livable situations.
Seeing brook and nami draw their weapons on kozaru makes me really wanna see if all the weak members of the strawhats could team up and take down a big bad powerhouse like an admiral ( I know I know probably impossible) an elder star (probably just as or even more impossible-er) I really could see nami ussop brook Frankie and chopper take down one of blackbeards titanic captains or something tho, and. Maybe have small hope that they could be powered up enough by end stage one piece to maybe hold off delay or maybe even just maybe defeat an elder star with great almost dying effort and most likely ingenuity. I feel like if they were to defeat some massively powered antagonist then they would win through some genius last chance move that somehow combines all their powers to some how short circuit or incapacitate the enemy in some really clever way. I imagine this fight would be qn extremely high stakes do or die thriller bc at the start it will seem like there's no possible way they could ever defeat them and the whole time we'll be waiting on tenterhooks for zoro or sanji or luffy to save them and it would be a hilarious tension breaker only for the "savior" to show up moments after they defeated the villain lol
Lilith being the last Vegapunk alive would be very poetic, especially considering that when Lilith was introduced she was the first person in One Piece to identify themselves as Dr. Vegapunk, so... Maybe her words will end up being true and we'll have to say "Dr. Vegapunk is a woman."
One of the things I've always wondered is, where did the navy get the Green bull and Fujitora? There are 2 hypotheses: one is that the navy opened a job position and whoever wanted it, sent in their CV and applied (like a onepiece linkedin). and the other option was that they were both vice-admirals who simply got promoted. Both options are frightening because the first means that there are simply people wandering around the onepiece world with powers equivalent to admirals. And the second means that there's a chance that several of the vice-admirals have powers equal to or similar to the current admirals and simply don't have room to be promoted. Remember that there are several of these vice-admirals on egghead island...
To me egghead is really similar to what happened in Hachinosu, it just feels through a different lens, instead of Kizaru perspective (like we had in Hachinosu with Garp) we get Luffy’s, and instead of Garp sacrificing himself for the future of the marines we get Vegapunk trying to sacrifice himself for Bonny which seems to be done in order to redeem himself.
Honestly, I'm thinking it might be Stella. As cliché as it sounds, we have a passing of the torch theme with this arc; Garp putting all his hope into Helmeppo and Koby, Rayleigh with Luffy, and now maybe Vegapunk with Franky. I theorize that as Stella is going to reveal more secrets about Devil Fruits and their origins, he'll get axed by Saturn, with a cool quote like, "Dr.Vegapunk, your employment with the World Government is terminated, effective immediately"
The leakers words really give some unnecessary impact lmao, i remember the 1090 leaks where the leaker wrote Robin scolding luffy for almost giving away info. Most of the readers immediately went to the idea of its Devon disguising as Robin as it was 'uncharacteristic' of Robin to be mad at Luffy
Regarding electricity, refrigerators and freezers exist. If I'm remembering correctly, very early on, i think east blue, Nami talks about how sailors would get scurvy alot until the invention of refrigerators so people could store fruits on ships.
I actually think things will go relatively well. I don't think anyone major (meaning Straw hats, Bonney and Stela) will die, I do think that Caribu being there is a massive problem since he knows where both Posidon and Pluton are. I'm sure that he will be captured by the marines, and he will end up telling them. I also could definitely see Kuma dying saving Bonney or something, but other than Kuma and maybe the other Vegapunks I don't see any major casualties.
Bonney being a kid would explain why she eats so much too, constantly using her DF ability to keep herself aged older would require a lot of energy no?
I honestly think it’s going to be Kuma who bites the dust in the end. It would create a trademark One Piece moment of tragedy for Bonney, and in her grief-fueled rage and despair, she’ll blame Vegapunk and try to kill him. But the Strawhats will stop her, leaving her to do nothing else but to cry and verbally voice out loud everything in her heart and mind, forcing Vegapunk to reflect on the hand he had in countless atrocities that have occurred in his lifetime. I think it would be cool if Bonney became a Strawhat, and that would be a good launching point, because as we all know, the Strawhats are comprised of deeply scarred characters with tortured pasts.
3:36 - the vibe I got was when in those cartoons, specifically Tom and Jerry, where Jerry brings in a match or lightbulb or something inside Tom's head and the light goes out his eyes, ears, and mouth, lol
The CP ships we saw on Wano had very much electrical technilogy on in their little rooms. So at least the WG has access to higher form mor electric based technology
I've seen you talk about Bonnie being a child, and I wanted to put this out there: Bonnie was seen in egghead 20 years ago as a child, so she's at least 20+ years old.
Wouldn’t it be hilarious if bonney who’s currently obsessed with sanji turns out to really be a child, effectively putting her off limits and pissing off sanji
@@regiman222 in this situation sanji must resist when she’s in adult mode because she’s still technically a child so we’ll see his internal conflict. sanji is more honorable than to perv over a child im sure of it.
I had never even thought about Lilith being the one to escape. Maybe it would be to similar to Ceasar, but it would also guarantee NEO-Mads becoming a real threat because she would 100% join them.
The Lost Kingdom from the Void Century must be really THAT dangerous it took 20 countries of the ancestors of World Nobles to team up and defeat it. Before erasing any evidence of its existence and the Void Century as a whole.
I like the theory of Kuma having a 'hidden' command priority... But I raise you one better and say he programmed Bonney to be the "Priority Commander" of the Kuma Pacifistas.. hehe😊😊
How can you say someone is vulnerable while they’re with ussop? He’s one of the top five most powerful characters. And if he gets in an actual struggle somehow another top five character, Sogeking, will likely show up to help.
what if Kuma gets to egghead and reflects everyone away are maybe seeing a mini timeskip but with the the crew split in two or groups of 2/3. Quite wild ik. Also do you think Kizaru and saint saturn would chase the strawhats like how smoker chased them in pre timeskip
9:00 electricity is at least known throughout most of the world, as in franky (cyborg) is a known concept, people knew that rubber stops electric after taking 5 to remember "oh yeah, luffy is rubber" when he was fighting enel, basically all in all, whether it's widely used in the world, it's at least widely known about
When Lilith said their primary power source is fire, I immediately thought she meant they were burning things, which is exactly what we do. I guess she may have meant they extract the energy directly from the fire, though.
Can’t forget about the phone call Dr. Vega punk made when the attack originally happen he said they’re escape is definitely with their help. There’s more people on the island then we think.
I've always liked the way Sentomaru yells out "Mugiwara" & his line about Luffy noy being scum like Demaro Black 🙌🏽 but this is his "nothing happened" moment! 🔥
4:16 "Why are you trying to fight the sun w light? That's like trying to fight-battle against the ocean w a bottle of water" 😂 I hadn't thought of it like that lol
I'd love for there to be a scenario where they need to contain York on the ship, since she is the hostage, but her size poses a problem. A certain unaccounted-for swamp nakama could keep her sealed away.
How funny would it be if Usopp’s lie of having conquer’s Haki became a reality out of desperation to save his friends, like Luffy when Ace was about to die. Idk just a funny lil thought.
Regarding what you said in 9:53 - yes, Lilith said that the power source is fire, but they still use electricity to transfer power to their various equipment. Just like we use coal/other fossil fuels as a power source.
All I can think about is it’s probably gonna end something like everyone necessary is on Sunny it’s surrounded, escape is impossible, Saturn walks out menacingly going into an evil exposition dump, and near the end when it’s like the you have no hope part and Kuma finally shows up n launches them to space.
I wouldn’t write off Kaku as a potential ally just yet. He may be CP0, but he’s a much more honorable character than Lucci and if the Weakling Trio were threatened, he may decide to protect them, especially Chopper who seems to be the one that took care of him when he was injured by the Pacifistas.
The focus seems to be on Bonney. VegaPunk has that crazy face and wants to save her. Saturn takes her out and then we get a flashback of what happened in the memory bubble.
When Kuma sent the Straw Hats flying before time skip, it took them up to 3 days to reach their destinations... It takes Light 0.13 seconds to go around the Planet Earth.
I could see Luffy knowing what a light switch is, and he doesn't have to understand the physics behind any of it to imagine it. Lamboon had mechanical stuff inside of him, Water 7 and the Sea Train had levers and switches. Sabaody had a theme park which had to have levers or switches. Then you get to Vegapunks labs on Egghead and on Punk Hazard which obviously has machinery. Also Franky has the shark sub and battle tank which also has levers and switches. I am not saying they're all powered by electricity, I'm saying Luffy likely has seen a lever or switch that turns on lights that show the machine is working. If nothing else it could be a Looney Tunes type gag, again as another nod to old fashioned animators with 5th Gear. Or what if Luffy threw down the famous "black hole" that was used in so many cartoons, which just absorbs Kizaru.(maybe a black hole brought on by Imu or Saturn?)
Giant Robot is waking up to save them from Saturn. The Studio Ghibli movie called Castle in the Sky is the reference for this arc. The Robot wakes up and fights the military to allow everyone to escape.
I know my grandfather talked about "That little girl". We asked him who he meant....Apparently a 72 year old lady. He was 97 at the time and remembered her as a child during (probably) the 50's. Stuff can get weird with older generations.
What if the moon hair guy is Imu hiding in plain sight, cause moon is the opposite of Sun. And a crescent may look like Emu’s pointy head from the front
When Vegapunk said their primary power source is fire, I immediately thought they meant they were burning things, which is exactly what we do. I guess they may have meant they extract the energy directly from the fire, though.
when Atlas was leaving to take control of the Pacifistas what she said made it sound like there could be above VegaPunk that could have full authority over the pacifistas . i wonder if Oda worded it like that for a reason
The lights witch idea is pure gold. And iagree specially if it doesn't pay off or only pays off for a moment when kizaru realizes he is not Infact a lightbulb.
