Anthony came to the Regal Gentleman Studio after growing his hair out longer than usual. He was overdue for his normal haircut of a buzz cut 3 on top with skin fade. Dan worked with Anthony's face shape to give him a buzz cut that suited him, and added scissors on top for a cleaner look.

Fade is spot on! I agree with the other comments that he suits the longer hair because of his thick hair and strong hairline. However its what the client is happy with and you did a perfect job

Yeah once you get used to a very short cut on top and skin on the back and sides, it's very hard to go back to anything longer. This was one month of growth for Anthony, and he felt messy!

It's your meticulous attention to detail Dan that makes you so outstanding. The vast majority of barbers just whack the hair off in minutes with zero cross-checking, more concerned about earning the next buck than the quality of the work they do.

We're lucky we have an hour/hour 15 minutes for these videos! And Dan also has quite a bit of time in his shop 45 mins-an hour. But really appreciate it!

@@RegalGentleman I totally get that Dan as a top barber can charge top dollar for the excellent service he provides, whereas others because they charge less have less time to spend on a haircut, sure, But no matter how much or little we pay, I think on average between $12-18 (10-15 GBP) in the UK, we are right to expect at very least a decent haircut and not have to go home and 'fix' the longer hairs missed by the barber. I mean, we wouldn't leave the dentist with a tooth half pulled out, would we?

I think buzzcuts are much more interesting than using a single clipper number all over. Unfortunately I have hardly On top, but I still do a little fading from1/2 to 0 and shaved by foil to blade. I like it better than shaving my head completely with a blade. I do this myself, because barbers never seemed to try this, even when I asked. Also I like the control over when I cut again and if I don’t like it or how it’s growing out, I can take earlier action. It’s good to see Dan doing this haircut! His knowledge and skill I think are unsurpassed!

so does keeping bulk of hair near the top part of the sides make the face look less long? im getting a buzzcut in 2 weeks, i dont want my face to look long nor do i want it to look wide

All depends on your face shape, but realistically most people would probably want a bit of length at the top. High and tights aren't really a preference for a lot of people! Something like a low or mid fade with it stretched out would be the preference for a lot of people! You could also leave a bit more length on the sides so maybe don't go as short as a skin fade, go for a 0.5 or 1 on the back and sides, and then longer on top

Has a head of hair this good at I'm guessing around his late fourties to early fifties but still decodes to have a buzzcut lol, he has a fuller hairline than half of men I see in their thirties. Tbf it suits him and obviously its a tempting haircut to have since there's zero maintenance to it.

I am thinking he is in his 60s. He has a very good head of hair but I know a few guys in their early 60s who look younger than him and have really good hair as well. He has a really good skull shape for a buzz cut.

I like how you did this buzzcut because you didn't line up his hairline like most barbers do and it ends up looking like a straight line, they use trimmer and a straight razor, everytime I tell my barber to not do that he asks me why haha in my opinion it doesn't look natural
