Keep in mind that the game is NOT to give the right answer. It's to guess what the 100 people that were surveyed said. If they did the survey by asking 100 random people on the streets of Los Angeles, then Paris is not a bad answer.
Under pressure, it's easier not to listen perfectly. The 100 people surveyed had time to listen and think about the question. Steve Harvey could relate to the dilemma b'cos he once made a public mistake on the *Miss Universe* pageant a few years before.
I think Darrell started laughing because everyone else was laughing, but I don't think he knew his mistake, because he still waited to see if it was up there. Poor guy. I feel sorry for him!
The title says he instantly regretted his answer but I seen the whole show and I honestly think the man had no clue until he was told after the show. He just seen Steve’s reaction and kinda played along but the man had no clue that Paris was in the country of France.
