Seeing Grant getting his teeth kicked in is amusing bc its very rare. Hes too good for that to be a usual sight and hes too jovial to get annoyed. Do ya'll remember eternal narrator zeratul in Mindhawk's gauntlet? Grant was soooo pissed off

@@cyrian2591 There's two ways to play this mod. With, or without upgrading the turrets to do AOE damage. One is a walk in the parc, the other one is NIGHTMARE

Ayyyyyy YOOOOOOOOO. THIS IS MY MOD. Uhhhh, so there's like a lot to talk about and not a lot to talk about here. (Super excited and nervous quite honestly) - There is a secret in Liberation Day that allows everyone's favorite Outlaw to join the party early - This was my first mod in the Editor and I knew literally nothing when making it, so there's a lot of design, mechanic and mission issues still present lol - Marines present (to make) in Outlaws due to a just Tychus mission being a tad difficult in Nightmare - I think that the window that auto closed on Grant in Lib Day was just the welcome and thank you message to my players, fellow modders, and supporters. No tutorial or anything like that. - Turrets are so lovely now, boosted (and nerfed) them as they do indeed suck as Grant said (they've gone through so many iterations that it's insane) - Zero Hour is a little crazy too lmao. One of my favorites as a change in play and difficulty so I kept bunkers around to help out (plus turrets) - The Outlaws mission change was indeed to make it more in-world/in-character for Tychus to be able to ignore the Rebel base, but if he actually goes out of the way for it then he gets a med platform to work with. - Since this mod is being played I will jump back into updating and dev'ing it so expect to see some updates lol. I tend to stay away from nightmare based mods due to my fear of skill issue, but maybe i'll give it a try with the lightmare mods. Other than Tychus, mengsk(probably), and moebius, is there any other lightmare?

I could be wrong, but I feel like the terrain change in mission 2 (first mission of the video) was to make it easier to by pass the two bases fighting since Tychus says "Good, it will keep the dominion of our backs" or something along those lines. Basically since you're Tychus they're making it easier to follow his idea of using the other base as a distraction.

It also means that it isnt all on the same path meaning you can still get Attacked in your Main while rescuing the rebels as usually that isnt even a choice you have to make

my version of WOL on that mission raynor is locked into his base by a pair of siege breakers & u start off in the cliffs on the bottom right with a pair of gun-less reapers (they building grenade everything) and you play all of the parts of the map that are normally never seen in order to get to the back of the enemy base. when u get to the enemy CC, which is covered by a pair of siege breakers that blast u if u come down from the clfifs) u grenade it from the cliffs while playing footsies with a pair of ravens that you can't shoot up at that deploy the dodgeable mines from Friends Like These at you. when the dominion CC dies the dominion evacs their base & the dominion rebels part of the map the dominion rebels are the enemy, when you touch the beacon at their base they surrender & become your allies and provide fodder for you to bust the tanks with, and when you finally reach raynor's base you arrest raynor & that's why he's the advisor for your faction for the rest of WOL

It is odd in the base campaign that this "side mission" is literally in your way to the main objective. It doesn't really feel like a side objective. You'd pretty much have to just purposefully not go up the ramp to not complete it, as there's no reason not to go that way.

It makes sense for the mod to start on mission 2, because Tychus only joins the campaign at mission 2. Also the terrain change on mission 2 seems to have been made specifically to encourage the player to play the mission as Tychus - since Tychus suggests leaving the rebels to fend for themselves, but in the original mission it almost impossible to skip saving the rebels, while in this changed version of the mission you actually have to go out of your way to rescue them

ahh this was a good one! Some bits are certainly a challenge, one thing I'll say is DONT FORGET ABOUT THE MEDIVAC PLATFORMS! >< it not being a top bar like in coop makes it easy to forget its existence and its usage is kind of important even if you bring nikara and rattlesnake out. Yeah the wings of mengsk nydus's still give me nightmares about this mission

Stukov could be really fun for HotS and also for WoL. Personnaly, I was hoping for a Dehaka campaign for HotS and love the ideas behind the Tychus one.

Rattlesnake is the obvious choice as he actually has healing. If you had any other sources, I would go for the blaze but sadly we don't

If this mod had co-op economy, it'd be a breeze, but you really feel starting with 5 scv's and only ever having one base most missions. That's where the main challenge comes from, up until all in where enemy numbers become just so overwhelming. That said, it's nice to hear Grant's brain ticking over as he tries to figure out differences and adjustments to his in-mission plans.

Yey for Tychus lightmare adventure! And I vote for Miles coz oil and flame! Also do note that you can build those medivac starports to both heal and have a quick trip across the map.

I think Rattlesnake will also bring heals so our helpful little darlings can stay home to be murdered by fliers instead of banelings.

Fun fact, larvae aren't classed as light, but only have 25 HP, and can be oiled up for a nasty amount of base damage. You don't really get to mess with larvae in co-op, because Blizzard gave up almost all pretenses of AI using resources or production buildings.

​@@sockpuppermcgee7920Yeah, computer workers only take 1 mineral per trip and in nearly all missions, they have a lot more minerals at each patch, except on super nova, because you're meant to take those bases.

Heck yeah! This looks awrsome! One thing to note, the Medivac Platforms are hands down Tychus' greatest mobility asset. It's an instant warp, full heal AND gives a temporary cloak buff to the transported units. At least thats how it works in coop. But the biggest thing to remember for it is that, you do not need vision in the spot you're warping to. You'll need to clear the fog-of-war, but It is 100% possible to combat drop right into the center of a base and get some damage done while cloaked.

I think normal upgrades are for Mercenaries you could buy later (with cool new Warpig model! Although it looks very similar to Regular Marine...) and *yes* , we want to continue this exiting challenge with this mod, that you just came-up with a new category for it - the "Lightmare" category! (This category should include Moebius and Mengsk mods, as mentioned in other comments here!)

It would be cool to have a secret ending, where if you listen through all 5 of main Hyperion crew - Tychus, Tosh, Stetman, Matt and Swann - you get an after-credits scene, where it shows you that Raynor shot the transponder, which broadcasted control signal for Tychuses suit, leaving Tychus alive.

Doesn't matter what Tychus is contracted to do, I would wanna remove that thing off my boy immediately. Turrets with splash are insane. But even with those, you do need to pay attention to your outlaws and quickly react to worms. And unless it’s been patched since I played it, the hotkey system doesn’t work and you need to tab through outlaw abilities.

Kev Rattlesnake might be better to grab first just so Blaze doesn't have to sit out for long periods of time for medic heals. (Kev revitalizers heal by %)

I've played through this and it really is painful at times. The mercs do support each other amazingly well, so your deathball of them will always be invincible. The problem is, you can only have one full sized death ball, and on missions that need both attack and defend, that is problematic. Turret does well but on their own will suffer high attration rate. So you are often forced to split and that is quite a bit harder. Most merc have weakness that need to be covered by others, so you need to work on the pairing.

TIL that in the Zero Hour mission the lights and sirens go off based on where you are being attacked, which includes the inner poles for drops and mutas.... You can see one go at 9:35 when a drop pod is about to land

this seems really cool! love the idea behind it and from what it sounds like is that in missions like The Dig you can still make tanks maybe because you start with a Factory like how you start with a barracks here. also I really like the giant headlights on the SCVs

I'd say yay on making this a full playthrough. Having an entire RTS campaign focused on unique hero units + whatever local resources you can scrounge up is far too interesting to not follow up on.

I absolutely loved helping test this mod under my previous screen name. It's very fun with some challenges of its own given how Tychus's faction works. I love coming back to this mod often. I'm of the opinion to get Rattlesnake!

Turrets are insane in this mod. Not only do they shred anything light, they're also long range enough to shoot back at siege units like Brood Lords and can get an upgrade to do splash damage. And there's no supply cap on them, so you can make them until you run out of minerals.

I am DEFINITELY interested in seeing more of this!!! I don't know the commander at all, but it seems like a genuinely unique experience compared to many other mods due to the limits and alternate style of gameplay!! 100% down to watch more and see how a hero based composition can beat harder missions

19:40 Those insane 2k HP nydus worms were in the Wings of Mengsk mod. They spawn like 20 units every 5 seconds until killed.

I Feel like this is a pretty cool mod for Wings of liberty, most missions your going around recruiting one of your various mercs to add to your squad, and the other normal terran production structures are only really there if the mission provides them. The Mercs hopefully will always be the most impactful units you have in your army with the regular units supporting. Hope this Series continues.
