I spent my teens listening to I Am Hollywood...and I'm spending my 30s listening to FEW and now WHITE BAT!!! This band has gotten me through some tough times, some amazing times, and all in all they've been on repeat on any format for the last 17 years....I can honestly say He Is Legend is my all time favorite band..and that's hard when compared to Tool and Metallica and plenty others. The fact that their so underrated has made them consistently put out amazing albums...albums you get sucked in to and never get out of. White Bat is another stellar album. They never disappoint, and thats hard in this day and age.....I tip my hat off to you guys...you've outdone yourselves once again!!
Basically the same man, I live in east TN somewhat near them in NC so I've gotten to see them several times from my first supporting "Suck Out the Poison" to last year and they've never disappointed live either, always a great show.
Shelby seriously. first album i was introduced to was Suck Out the Poison and i was hooked. i worked my way back from there and was fortunate enough to endure the suspense between each release. i wish Steven Bache was still a part of the band, for his killer style. either way HIL comes back into my life at the perfect time to fall in love all over again. top 5 in my life without a doubt.
DiggityDev i’d have to say i am hollywood just because of the creativity that album holds. i could never pick a favorite song though, i’d be arguing with myself for days.
@@ReefahCheef I Am Hollywood is legendary no doubt, the tone, specific sound, and nostalgia hit hard for me. I think It Hates You may be my favorite. Mushroom River may be my favorite song, it changes just about daily, though.
I almost wish this song wasn't released before the album because I would have been floored seeing how this is the last song on the album. But, I digress, this is easily still my favorite track off the album!
I first discovered he is legend at the stone pony in asbury park NJ 2005 my prom weekend. We had tickets to see from first to last and all I gotta say is he is legend opened for them and Fucking crushed it and stole the show haha it was hard for the rest of the bands to follow I was hooked after that day these guys are so good
Not only is this song incredible (like every other HIL song), but Schuylar's vocal layers at 2:53, goddamn. I constantly have to rewind to that part because I can't get enough.
This might be the HIL album I’ve been waiting forever to hear! they’ve always been great, but I know they’re capable of more. All 3 released tracks so far are fucking awesome!
I agree 666%! I've loved every album and have considered them my favorite band since I am Hollywood was released, but there is just something magical about the new songs. They literally get better every time I listen to them! I truly believe that this is going to be the album that they finally get the recognition that they've deserved.
this band constantly puts out good music its crazy. It feels like they're the last ones standing right now... when a revival comes back theyre gonna be looked at as legends
Wow. This band just never fails to deliver. Such a talented and unique group. They are like fine wine getting better with time. This track is really dope. It kind of reminded me of nirvanas bleach album. Songs like paper cuts and negative creep. Grungy.
Now everywhere I see is brown Dirt and dust Dry rocks and mountains Darkened sands and blistered mouths Planet's bare and Nothing's sprouting Since you let go of my hand I'm crying tears of sand I'm surprised to see you wake And more surprised to hear you saying "I'll be your Boogiewoman if you'll be my Boogieman At night Go hand in hand Kick up dust across the bat lands I'll be your Boogiewoman if you'll be my Boogieman Now that you've grown on me I won't let you down again" Everything I see is black Houses, churches Charred from fire Capgras syndrome Who are ya'll Slept all night Despair can call Final tear drop filled your eye Down your cheek Hung from your chin Broke your curse when it hit the ground That's when you spoke again Oh "I'll be your Boogiewoman if you'll be my Boogieman At night Go hand in hand Kick up dust across the bat lands I'll be your Boogiewoman if you'll be my Boogieman Now that you've grown on me I won't let you down again" Depersonalization Sexual levitation Acid precipitation Electro ejaculation Time passes wildly, but time passes blind And rivers, they don't know which way to flow when they're dry Stars still spin, reeling, confused with our love Only death is truly sure from above Now everything I see is stained Gnashing teeth, tormented brain Cotard syndrome, died of thirst You're not me, I was he first
Years ago I went to see Maylene and The Sons of Disaster. Dallas couldn’t make it and they had a surprise guest vocalist. It was Schuyler come out. My best friend and I being massive HiL fans lost our shit. Amazing show.
These guys are awesome live, I saw them never hearing of them before. I actually caught a drumstick and the guy next to me was in a group that came just to see that band for a friends B-day. Offered me $20, I insisted they take it for free (it was the dude's b-day, c'mon). never expected such an intense bro-hug at a metal concert. Try getting that from a rap or hip-hop show,.
My god this band is amazing. Been a huge follower since "I am Hollywood" days and they NEVER disappoint", this band is the definition of evolution and I love them for that. Each album brings something new and interesting and I look forward to every second of it. Keep fuckin killin it HIL!!!
Welcome to the club you need to check out Maylene and the Sons of Disaster if since your a fan of HiL now. They're apparently all buddies and friends and they got Schuylar Croom the vocalist of this band to fill in for their vocalist while he took some time off for personal reasons so he toured with them they have a similar vocal sound both bands are similar in a lot of ways. I'm pretty sure you'll dig them too.
saw these guys live at Toads place a couple weeks ago and they totally blew my mind! after the set schuyler was watching the other bands and i waved to him and he waved back! not to mention the guitarist adams headbanging is fucking sick
GREAT video! Wow!! Love you guys. It was fantastic getting to hang out with all of you after your amazing live set at The Cowan in Nashville. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
First time I heard them and I found it pretty good, got to listen to more songs. The name of the band was already attractive to me. I like the direction they took as it starts with a Rob Zombie vibe then goes with a edgy '90 alternative grudge stony bite vibeand it ends like a song from My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult which I think is pretty cool !!
I've been listening to this band since they released It Hates You, which is still one of my all time favorite albums, and I kind of hate to say that I didn't like this album when it came out. I listened to it all the way through a couple times and kind of just gave up on it. But man, I threw it on randomly a week or two ago and I can't stop listening to it. I guess I just didn't give it enough time or I wasn't in the right mindset, because this album is easily up there with Suck Out The Poison and It Hates You. Easily my two favorite albums of theirs, and White Bat now feels like the perfect middle ground between the two. Easily one of, if not the most underrated bands I've ever listened to. Genuinely can't fucking wait for whatever they put out next.
