I'm new to the band and it's all I listen to. I heard they've been around forever and I'm not sure how I've not heard of them. The man sings his heart out, it's like you know you're in for a good time.
I'm happy their were one of the biggest of the Southern Hardcore era in the early to late 2000's, but I think core kids weren't ready for their more Rock albums, which sucks, they're so good at blending core and Rock without making it Octanecore at all.
34 here and I completely agree. Dude, I've loved this band since I was about 19 and saw them a few years ago for the first time. I got so moved by the performance and was able to meet Schuylar after the show. I didn't have enough money for a shirt, so I gave him what cash I had in my pocket (which was $10), and told him how much their music has meant to me over the years. It was surreal.
I'm totally with you bro, I heard them when I was maybe 20 and thought, why the hell aren't these guys on the front of magazines? And only just getting back into them again now, realizing their stuff has only gotten better over the years. That track 'sands' is off the charts. I'm atheist and HIL is produced by a Christian label, so I'm as unbiased as they come
Guys, your WHITE BAT album is the best thing I've ever heard since IT HATES YOU. You are the most underrated band of the 21st century. I love your creativity. Your fan since 2002
Piotr Szambelan i played in the band before the name change. We were called Uriah Omen. I was a fan before, during, and since. They are a sick band and very underrated.
Saw them at the loving touch in Ferndale, we rocked it! The whole crowd was loving the Hollyweird anniversary tour, honestly out of all the times I have seen them live I think that was the best and cleanest vocals I've heard from them live! I hope Chicago also rocked out hard!
Just saw them tonight, and same. Everyone had a great time and the whole crowd knew every lyric. I can't believe I've been into this band for 20 years now, they're truly something else.
Maylene unfortunately probably wont ever happen. Dallas Taylors accident sadly left the dude barely able to function on a day to day let alone be on a stage. A miracle would be fucking amazing though.
john osucha I kinda get where you’re coming from. I really enjoyed the first couple of releases, but after that they weren’t much different than Memphis May Fire to me.
Been listening to these dudes since the beginning. One of the greatest bands that more people need to know about without them falling into mainstream. ❤️
Forever my favorite band. So unique and so talented. Every album made me happy for different reasons, but White Bat made me smile with pure nostalgia. It brought me back to Suck Out The Poison. Still got it! Love you guys.
I listened to these guys when I was 19 in 2005. I discovered them because of a hot topic dvd they gave out for free. It had a bunch of music videos on it. It had “the seduction” music video from I am Hollywood. I bought that album and jammed it for a while. I honestly just forgot about these guys. Well I randomly thought of them because I was in a nostalgic mood. I went back and listened to their I am Hollywood album. Then I saw they had new stuff so I checked it out. I’m so happy these guys are still a band. This song and all their new stuff is fucking amazing. They have grown so much and you can tell in their music. But you can still hear that original sound as well. This is highly underrated and some good shit!
Check out "It Hates You" too, first album they kinda left the "southern metalcore" kinda thing they were doing on the first two albums. IMO a top 100 of all time album.
One of the most unique and mesmerizing bands I've ever listened to. Still listening almost 20 years later. My neighbors keep their Christmas decorations up year long and I always think of HIL...
Two bands that I never get tired of: He Is Legend and Maylene and The Sons of Disaster. I feel like their music goes hand in hand representing Southern Metal 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻.
Saw these guys with my kids (8 and 12) and thought they were great. Super super nice guys. Music was solid as a rock. Go see them with While She Sleeps and Savage Hands this tour!
Yea man, he was working at our local music store in Wilmington NC. Had a snowboarding accident last year and wasn't able to recover. He was such a good dude. You're terribly missed brother...
THEY CALL ME WHITE BAT!!!! I asked can I buy you tots at the bar and Schulyar was so nice and said no you don't have to.. I said I've loved your music for so long.. we drank top self whisky and talked about the life on the road.. took a pic with a piece of paper I made before the show saying "Josh this is amazing!" Josh was a guitarist in a band I grew up with that loved this band too. One of the best nights! I'm strong and you guys helped me get there! Thanks beyond words. I'll be there with more friends at the next show!
I met these guys back in the day. They were opening for someone... i can't remember anymore, but I do remember that they stole the show. They were cool as hell. After their set was over they went out and chilled in the crowd. That's where I got a chance to meet them. Excellent music. I'm so glad they're back.
I saw these dudes live on accident going to a local concert. they blew me away, singer had a vest on that was way to small for him and the drummer was the sickest man behind the kit I have ever seen. I have been a fan ever since probably over a decade now. ill buy anything they put out.
saw these guys feb 21 in a super small venue in ny. they’re so interactive with fans and also amazinggg live :) they were also with norastone, savage hands, and while she sleeps and i was so happy with how much they all interacted with the crowd.
Killer track dudes!! I Am Hollywood is one of the greatest albums I have heard till this day, this track comes as close to that feeling I get from that album.
So much attachment to i am hollywood snd suck out the posion.... been a long time fan and gravitate to those records once or twice a month easy for the past 15 years
This is selfish towards fans and the band it self. Basically by keeping this band your, "forever hidden gem", you are potentially depriving a person of the same joyful feelings that you have simply because you want to being a fucking hipster dufus who can be like, "HUR HUR GUIZ! I KNOW OF MOOZIK U DONT!!!!? Well Newsflash, they may not be mainstream but still a fuck ton of people know about them so they aren't solely your fucking hidden gem." And second by keeping this band to yourself (or any band really) your are preventing the band from getting more fans. more fans = more money via concert tickets, merch, more prestigious venues, bigger tours with bigger artists etc.... I mean what if before the band even got signed every fan of theirs decided to have your mindset and never share them? Yeah the band could do promotion for themselves but not if they have no money because no one knows who they are. For all you know, if everyone had your mindset and tried to keep the band a secret the members could have said, "fuck it, we can't make money so we quit" before they even had the chance to become your, "forever hidden gem."
I remember back 2 years ago I went to go see them in the fall tour at the time when they toured with two other bands and the two bigger ones which were white chapel and atreyu
It's fucking sad, HIL has been killing it since the beginning. Original, artistic, outside of the box and still amazing to this day. You guys were big but you should've been bigger. You guys were the best of the best.
discovered them while they opened for Atreyu in 2005 or 06. Hated it since it didn't have to do with Metalcore at all to me. Found this on my timeline and wasn't wrong at all that my music dwelling old ass these days would kind of appreciate their tunes a lot more
Boys!!! This was the first song I have ever heard from you guys. It’s a monster!! I immediately went and downloaded “it hates you, few, and I am Hollywood”. Gotta say those albums aren’t quite as heavy as this but man the creativity is next level. You guys are quickly becoming one of my favourite bands. Keep killing it! And thanks for the music
Check out Suck Out The Poison, Fan's kinda hated on it when it came out, but White Bat is for sure a "sequel" of sorts to that album. Musically and Lyrically!
I've been a fan since IAH, and slept on "It Hates You" the first year or two it came out because "NOT HEAVY ENOUGH". Now it's my favorite record of theirs.
My hat is off to you guys!!! Always real from the start!!! I remember when “the seduction” came out like holy shit you guys keep me going thank you for your art!!!!!
Apart from the odd sounding kick (sounds little bit flat), it has monstrous engineering. Phenomenal bass tone, heavy guitar sound and toms/snare/cymbals sounds without any doubt, top notch. I own White Bat on CD and it has amazing energy.
