Marines aren't soldiers. They're Marines. The Army has soldiers, the Air Force has airmen, the Navy has sailors, and the Marines are just called Marines. They didn't want to burden the poor jarheads with too many names to remember, I guess.
If someone called him "Major Bambi" he couldve come back with "Unless you wanna end up like Bambis mother, I'd suggest you never call me that again, maggot!!!"
@@ligmaballs2022 As someone who that word describes, I can confirm that it's very effective, especially on people who it WOULDN'T typically describe. People will get so pissed when their heterosexuality is questioned, it's hilarious.
"I will be your Drill Sargeant! I am a tough, battle-hardened Marine and I voiced Bambi back in the day! Now, you sons of btches, DO YOU WANNA LIVE FOREVER?!"
@@gemmamoon5998 I'm not talking about time travel. You are the person you are now because of all the actions you have done up until this point. Everything you have ever done in your life has lead to you reading my comment on youtube. We cant know for sure what would have happened but I'm sure he's proud of his accomplishments and so there's no point in lingering in what could have been
At my school my favorite teacher for Veterans Day would give us a list of retired veterans that we could send letters to. Everyone in my class wanted Donnie dunogan but only one of us could get him. All from luck I actually ended up getting him and I sent a letter. About a week later he sent a letter back to the school addressing me personally and he signed a poster of Bambi that I have hung in my room to this day. I always that receiving that letter was one of the coolest thing ever and it will always be a core memory ❤
It might be ok to be a marine that loves Bambi today, but back when he did it, the world was a lot tougher. He's right that he would have been teased constantly and I have my doubts he would have been allowed to be his best if anyone had known.
Bambi was a bad ass honestly… that ending where he ends up saving his wife and coming on top before death only for his dad to see him strong … was one of the coolest scene
Andy, you have of THE most interesting subject content. Your quality presentation is appreciated and obviously demonstrating your skill and possibly intellect.
Oh wow. "Getting shot 3 times." He's a hero. Ty Donnie for your service, sacrifice & strength. U r a very special courageous person. I know I have freedom today b/c of people like u. I appreciate u so much & I live to serve too in different ways & will not receive your sacrifice in vain. 💙 Peace be with u & yours.
I’ve actually met this guy at the d23 expo in Anaheim several years ago; got to listen to him tell a story of his experiences during all his career. A very nice, and humble man.
I remember when that little guy could barely even walk.... So proud he grew up to serve his deer country in such a bad ass way... RIP Bambi's mama😢 you raised a right one here..ha
As an artist, this gives me a whole idea of a concept where Bambi is a marine soldier with how powerful an adult deer is irl in terms of strength. Gives a sort of 'sheep in wolf's clothing'
"YOU WANT TO BE THE RECRUIT WHO HAS TO TELL EVERYONE THEY GOT THEIR BELL RUNG BY BAMBI THEN KEEP SCREWING AROUND!" Not gonna lie, that threat would square my ass away as a marine
I actually know have met donnie before, he lives in my small west Texas town, he’s kind of a little known local celebrity around town. One of the nicest guys you will ever meet, he spoke outside with me outside his home and told me his whole life story of being an orphan and then becoming a US marine as adult. Dude was just so genuine and nice, he was really happy about the life he’s lived and he keeps up his beautiful home to a high standard so you’ll often see him out doing lawn work.
