There's always one nutcase amongst teenagers like this, who wants to make a name and thinks they'll get away with it. All the people on the bridge would have just watched. If he was lucky one might pull their phone out in time. He dealt with it well until 1.53, then should have left it. Properly chasing down a gobby pikie, who he'd already made look a fool, and pretty much humiliating him further (on camera) incited the mob.

The police do have power, but civil power that basically means they don't trample on peoples rights or are not supposed to. I think people need to decide what we want, do we want the police to deal with crime or just serious crime. So you park your motorcycle on a red line for a short time you get the ticket in the post, but the person being mugged in plain view of the camera has no chance of any help getting to them. It kinda makes you wonder about the value of the cameras other than to issues parking fines or similar to honest hard working people. The criminals don't give a damn about the cameras cos they have no number plates to identify them by.

Well there's a lot of money floating around in the world, if you were going to invest in a country and offer employment to hundreds or thousands which country would you put your money in, the country that welcomes people from over seas or the country that treats them like crap, even though it's their money that's buying your house for you. I know which countries I would invest my money in, and it certainly wouldn't be those who treat people from oversea like crap. Foreign investment is what keeps Britain's economy healthy without it this country would collapse, however saying that the people who invest understand that there needs to be some control over who and what is brought into the country in order to keep it healthy. So it's all about finding a reasonable balance, coming down hard on hate crime regardless of what that hate is, because that sends a positive message to the world that it's not ok. And at the moment the UK is failing in some areas but do ok in other areas.
