Good for you. Wow, I wish everyone could have your mindset. Btw, I’m subbed to your channel and I’m amazed that you do way more sales than me with me having a foot ahead of you if you know what I mean. 😉. Sorry. Don’t block me please. I love your videos and have a sick sense of humor. 😂
If anyone can do it, it’s Dave. He’s great, definitely one of the most entertaining resellers on here. His Tesla video still goes down in history as one of the funniest videos I’ve watched on RU-vid. 😂 He’s great and I wish him lots of success, he deserves it!!
DANG WHAT A DAY!! Thanks for the shoutout Josh it really means a lot! Totally wasn't expecting to buy Pokémon game out of a trunk today haha. Maybe one day we can go game hunting together 👀
Glad you support other resellers like Dave. He took a leap of faith. I too hope that everything works out for Dave. Pretty good that Mose agrees with whatever you say. 👍
Josh!! Thank you so much for this video that included Dave’s decision to go full time self employed! You, lady tornado and the Trash 2 Cash Crew Are in my top 5 list I watch daily and it’s great to see you and Hailey’s success and also give aa shout out to other RU-vidr’s Serge from Canada 🇨🇦
I am also working towards building my reselling business to allow me to retire from my 6 figure healthcare career of 30+ years. You, CLL, Hustle at Home Mom and Homeschooling Picker have taught me so much!! Thank you for always sharing the good and the bad...one of these days I will make it to Flip Con.
but the only problem is that reselling isnt guaranteed it means you have to find stuff everyday to resell like for example i went to 3 goodwills yesterday and did not find 1 single thing to resell. so how would u be able to pay your bills if u have alot of days where u cant even find stuff to resell?
@johnnycarter2283 you keep looking...I literally drive 3 hours each direction twice a week to go sourcing...I go to Estate Sales 2 days a week and Garage sales on Saturdays. I do online auctions and scour Facebook Marketplace and Craig's list. There are SOOOOO many opportunities out there for everyone. ❤ Don't give up, you got this 💯
My husband and i just went full time not to long ago. Health issues and physical injuries caused us to work towards this goal for 2 years. Apart, from wanting to be our own boss, we also didn't want to wait until the retirement age to be free for corporate america, we wanted the freedom to enjoy our lives now. We used to work 10-13 hrs a day each, made good money, but at the expense of our marriage and family. We are thankful, we made this decision as everyday is a wonderful adventure that we experience together.
Josh !!! Thanks for taking us along! Too the flea market! And to the bins!!! The parkinglot deals ! Too hear the drama of the bins , which is something to hear . I appreciate you! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!!
Josh this was awesome of you to do for Dave. Also, good job on being so close in numbers! Can't wait to see what new growth you all have. Living vicariously through you big time reseller/content creators. Thank you!
It’s awesome seeing what you’ve built expand with both vendors and in the reselling community. You and the whole Trash to Cash crew are inspiring. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Flip Con.
Thank you for being so open to shouting out smaller creators :) you have no idea how inspiring and helpful that is for people! I'm sure Dave will do great!
Josh, you are so educational in your videos! I’m sure folks thinking about going into this business really listen to what you have to say. Thanks for the video!
Props for being so transparent about the revenue of social media. The reality is (I don’t mean to sound spiteful saying this) all the bigger channels on here are really just “content creators” and not “resellers” as it pertains to income. I could never buy most the stuff you buy because it’s all in a flooded market. But you are able because you have built such a following and you have to buy something just so you have more videos to upload and make money off of us clicking on them.
You break, you buy!! If it were me bumping into those tumblers, every one of them would have fallen and no less than 5 would have busted. Enjoying the content Josh.
Josh, you gave us a lot of info just going through the breakdown on Dave’s costs, etc. plus you got him a bunch of subs, I’m sure, including me. Thanks!
I am retired and hubby and I have a very small retirement with absolutely no savings. Two bouts of cancer with no insurance wiped us out. So now we are living the good life, lol! Anyway I have been doing the resale thing. Marketplace mostly. It has really helped us and I am enjoying it a bunch. I am enjoying your u- tube and it is really giving me a lot of ideas. Thank you so much! Oh and by the way too bad we aren’t closer…. Hubby Jim is a retired house builder
I’m already subscribed to Dave and really enjoy his channels and his self-depreciating and humble sense of humour. Also his transparency. He films great family times and I think they’re all going to benefit from him spending more time with them. All in all he’s a loyal friend to have, and I love his videos of his mom picking with him! So cool. Thanks for highlighting him in your video, helps with the naysayers for sure. Meanwhile…I’m hoping Hayley is having a great mission trip! I’m sure you and Moze are missing her! ♥️
Awesome fines at the flea market as usual! Thanks Josh for your daily videos, I enjoy them, informative and educational. I wish the best for Dave! And a safe return for Hayley! Blessings
Thank you for the great content. And thanks for taking the time to do a video every day while Hayley is away. Really enjoying it. I have to say though, as much as I love you and Hayley, Mose is clearly the star of the show here. I just love him so very much. Makes me want a golden. He's got the best disposition of any one I've seen. Goldens in general are great dogs but, he is top notch. And his sound effects when he responds to you just make my day.
@@HairyTornado oh, and btw, I discovered ADHDave because of you and Kevin, and now have added another channel to my flippin adventure watchin obsession. lol I'm sure you guys are helping him gain a lot of subscribers. I really enjoy him and think he's gonna have no problem growing his business.
Also who cares if he doesn’t make as much , I’m glad he is pursuing something he loves and enjoys! I’m sure he was saving a good amount of money making 6 figures. On top of that he has already been doing all the reselling stuff making another flow of income. I think this was a move for mental/family needs! Shoot now he can spend time at home and around family and enjoy it.
The goal for many has changed from big house, expensive car to having more time and being your own boss. I never had 6 fig job, but worked in higher ed for decades. Quit to take care of my combat wounded vet husband. Took up reselling for extra cash and I could work it around doc visits, therapy etc. Last year I grossed more with ebay than I ever made working ft. It's a blessing.
I watch Dave as well. Very happy for him. I am just starting to do this myself and it's because of a horrific fire we had -- lost my only daughter (only child) and everything we had - house etc (insurance is not what we all think ) and now my other half has cancer. I need to be available for him. I am just starting out but I have no choice so I am hoping that this will push me along. Staying positive. Thx for your great videos!
Señor Tornado - We both started our renovations at roughly the same time. While you're doing a lot yourself, it does bring me confidence that I'm close to the same stage you are even with me having hired professional help. Will it ever end? Sure wish I could have done it for $20 lol
I just watched him for the first time in you tube thrifting ..... You are correct he is a good watch. He is also very honest when he makes a mistake. Definitely a good you tuber to subscribe to for flipping. Seems like such a sweet guy.
I remember that video when you said you'd been fired, and how stunned you were. You looked almost lost, saying that you'd have to make it selling full time. So sad. But, boy oh boy, did you come roaring back!
Wish him luck! He seems to know what he’s doing and I’m sure his audience will grow much bigger now that he’s focused on RU-vid and his reselling business
Another great video from you, but then they are all that way. It never ceases to amaze me the number of plushes you sell and the amount of money you get for them. Say 'HI' to Mose. He makes (and steals) the show just by putting in an appearance. Can't help but love that dog. :) :)
A nice breakdown of likely income for Dave. It's good to remember that income is more than just eBay! There are many streams that can complement reselling. Last time I was reselling full time, I also did one to one tuition in IT and workshop skills--my background as a commercial trainer and radio/systems engineer helped out there--and having 4 or 5 hours a week doing something different helped to keep me from going crazy with eBay as it changed every day (back in the 'wild west' days 20+ years ago). Later on I went into disk-based training courses--my best selling product back then was a study package for the UK Citizenship Test that shipped by the sack load! Now, as I look forward to going back to full time-just as soon as my current employers pull the plug on their dying business--I have a little less pressure as I already draw a number of pensions from previous careers. One point to remember when moving from part time to full time, which wasn't mentioned in the video, is that you don't just need to match your previous salaried income but also whatever you were earning from your reselling. For example, if you were earning $100k gross from employment and $25k from the side hustle, you need to grow the reselling income to $125k, not $100k, to have the same gross income. There are, of course, complications in adjusting for benefits (at least here in the UK we don't need to worry about health insurance!) but the basic idea stands and is often overlooked by those looking to go full time.
Another great video! I follow Dave and have been since he flipped in NC. He lived about 35 miles from me at that time. I have to admire him for taking the leap and going full time in what he loves to do. He can now spend more time with his family while the kids are at the age to appreciate him more!! I never had the courage to quit my Civil Service job and follow my dream and it is too late now. Dave is funny and serious all at the same time and I wish him the best. You and Haley are doing a great job too!! Best wishes to you two and Dave!!
That's so funny. I was at the post office and was super thirsty. Went next door to 7-11 and saw that water and got one for me and my coworker. Pretty bougie but good water.
Love it. I'm not going to become a full time reseller but what I've noticed is that you have to understand what you're doing like you said. You can easily get into a tough spot by buying stuff that may have slight value but sells so slow. All the small purchases could easily add up and then you're stuck with a bunch of slow selling "junk".
Great video….interesting seeing your views of friend going full time. Went over to his channel and subscribed…. Sounds like he is on his way to success. You are a prince of a guy to encouraging him and sharing in general with us. Did I miss something…are you inventory out of your garage and well as/or no longer out of the larger processing building?
JOOOSH you are such a cool guy with this unique and fresh video and storytelling style!! Iam fangirling over here in germany since 2 years, greets and best wishes
Great video - I had no idea he would be bringing in that much from such a "small" youtube channel. Add in his salary to these numbers and he was really rolling in the dough for the past couple years. So he is essentially going from 200k plus down to 100k, which may hurt in the short term. Hopefully he can continue to grow, but if not, I'm sure he can find another similar job to get again. Also COG wasn't really added to this video. Growing in reselling means growing your spending as well. Gota spend money to make money!! Awesome video!
Great info. Thank you. I have thought long and hard about following Dave's footsteps, leaving a good paying job to resell FT. My PT eBay game is decent: approx 1 sale per day @$73/transaction and an 80% sell through. But I have no social presence and support a family of 3 as sole income earner. Time to get on YT and whatnot. 😊
29:55 "I don't want to get involved in his personal business." After researching online all his details and doing calculations.. But I don't get involved in his personal business! 😅 (My sides hurt)
I love your daily video. But i miss also the input from Haley. Both are great. By the way : Your warehouse looks like there exploded a little bom. 😂😂😂😂 Love you guys. ❤❤❤
I am planning on doing the same thing that you are doing right now. I am going to wait until I retire first. That way I have a steady income and insurance. I have only 2 1/2 year's left. For now I buy at yard sales and sell at the flea market and I love it.
Hahah I really hope you see this comment because I had a bizarre Hairy Tornado moment this morning. I had a surgery to repair a torn achilles and when they brought me out of the anesthesia I noticed what looked like a Snap On tool chest across the room…my mind immediately went to your storage locker video from a few months ago and I started telling the nurse how I always look for Snap On stuff at garage sales now 😂😂😂
