Best Christmas special ever. Dark at times, funny, clever. Super wibbly wobbly too. Now brace yourselves for Series 6!

This is probably my favorite Xmas episode .... its very fun

In a way the xmas episodes are Who at its purest broad appeal. You have to picture it, broadcast on xmas day to a nation of gathered families full of food and xmas cheer. From the toddlers to the grandparents all sitting down to watch the Who xmas special together. In that sense they are often a bit more fantastical, or whimsical, and usually stand alone and quite light. They are rarely considered classic episodes but they are somewhat unique among Who episodes in what they set out to achieve on xmas day lends them a charm of their own.

Eleven would so be the best Doctor to travel with, such a fun guy!

Sadly, we must now note the passing of the great Michael Gambon.

Michael said that if Katherine hadn't been holding his hand at the end, he would've fallen over cause her voice was THAT powerful. It wasn't a playback track. She was actually singing. I still have that song on my phone.

Rip mr Gambon, passed away today.

Interesting to note that the Doctor is not able to save the girl from dying. He can't save everyone, but he certainly tries. Might be dark, but I don't like when everyone is miraculously alive at the end in many shows and movies.

Irony to be watching this when Michael Gambon JUST died this week.

I can't wait for ya'll to get into Season 6 it has 4 of my favorite episodes in the whole of New Who.

I know! I know why Garrett hates Christmas! Garrett hates Christmas cause when he was a kid, his family went on vacation to Paris but they didn't notice Garrett wasn't there but was home allone and had to take care of burglars, but thank goodness he loved watching movies so he could use that to scare them away and ... oh no, that must not be it, because I'm sure Garrett would have thought of it as the best Christmas in his life. Anyway, I didn't know Katherine Jenkins till this episode, but gosh what a voice! And if you can sing opera, you can act. I did see Michael Gambon in films/series before but I didn't knew he played Dumbledore, but because of this episode, I found out. It's a good on itself stand alone Christmas episode, Matt nails the quirkiness as always. And ofcourse the Doctor, once upon a certain time, must have ended up in Houston, because ... you know.... the problem.
