Being a Floridian laborer in the construction field, I bust out laughing when you guys say mid 90’s is too hot. It gets up to low hundreds here. 102-104 still swinging sledges and finishing driveways.

I have a suggestion: Put in dash cameras with audio in the dump trucks so you can see if the issues are Big Ray's fault or not.

I would have been mad at Big Ray for sure! He even said "I didn't want to dump where the guy told me to, so I went somewhere else and got stuck." It was 100% his fault. 😂

As a concrete mixer driver, I ALWAYS carry 3 clamps and 1 gigantic tow strap. All of our trucks carry tow straps. Probably be a good practice for Ray to follow. Along with some lessons on how not to get stuck.

Husband said “As a Front Discharge Concrete driver and a Dump truck driver it’s always your fault by not walking the site even though they told you go over there, you should know by looking if the ground is solid or not and by the way it’s been raining there, certain areas would be soft” Also he should be Pre-Tripping the truck every morning and filling up the truck after end of shift!

Part of being a driver is surveying where you drive into, I drove box trucks into construction areas and always surveyed my path and listened to the gentleman who was going to offload me.

42:31 Cumulative error. You have to work to a baseline from one end - don't measure from points you measured out - always go back to the baseline. A good draughtsman will give you baseline dimensions for long runs so you don't have to work it out with maths, because that's another potential point of error. 43:09 The tape measure hook is meant to be loose like that - it has play equivalent to the thickness of the return so when you're measuring inside you get the same position as if you measure to the outside.

Here in Australia we use our AC in our machines all the time, it's absolute heaven. I remember when I was a teenager harvesting grapes in 39 degrees C with just a fan on the dash. Love your work Ryan.

I worked in a mine for years and we always had a cable on the loaders to pull out trucks. The pull pin is Rays fault, he needs to make sure he has the tools to get those out in the truck. The driver is responsible for his truck but the loader/dozer operators should have what they need to pull out trucks. Getting stuck happens all the time. It slows down everyone to let a truck sit! Fail on the dump yard and the driver on this one.

As a masonry superintendent we used to build a lot of schools, I learned that on a long hall with 10 or 12 doors if you laid out from door to door you always ended up way off yet if you laid out from one end to the other with a 150' tape you were always spot on.

We had an engineer reject fiber bar on a foundation. He said due to "not enough testing", it is his license, so I didn't argue much, and a side note not the best engineering firm based on the lack of consideration for budget. The engineering is what I would have considered scared. Way over engineered and not consistent with common building practices so interested to see if inspectors have anything to say about it. Also, a lot of guys don't realize that rebar is graded. Not all number 4 rebar is the same. Only one inspector has ever checked the grade, but most engineering side notes will require grade 60 or higher. I love watching to see how others get it done. There are so many opinions in construction, thanks love the channel

Hello from Scotland. Remember chasing 3/8" with a steel tape on a boiling hottie hottie day will be due to the tape expanding with the heat. I've had that problem measuring pipes made in the winter don't match the size in the summer.

Hey Ryan, if it hasn't been recommended, purchase Yoakum Ropes and leave them in each truck. They come in various thickness and lengths based on weight to pull. Also purchase the two soft shackles per rope. They are easier to use and their better than a clevis. Soft shackles can wrap around any points on both vehicles.

So basically, hearing Ray speaking in the background, was that he got scared to dump because of the angle, so he didn’t listen to the guy at the yard, decided to do his own thing, went around to some other spot and got stuck…. Imagine that.

Also Eric definitely should not be able to get the bonus this month it’s absolutely not fair to the rest of your guys

With Big Ray driving, you should look into Yankem Ropes and keep one in the truck. Chains and cables can make for very dangerous recoveries when it comes to heavy equipment. Yankum Ropes can stretch up to 30% longer when being used. This allows you to get a running start during a recovery, which couples momentum and mass to free the stuck vehicle. Works great on large farm equipment (eg. tractors, combines & trucks).

As a tri-axle driver of 8 years, a driver should always know where he can and can’t go with the truck, meaning if you’re gonna sink, the truck is gonna tilt or not, etc. I love Big Ray, but if he was my employee, he would’ve been gone by now.
