@@justaracoonchillinginatoilet69 true. they fought well and in the end the winner is the winner. and if you werent blind, takeru was outclassed by superlek from the start, it wasnt a close match in any way. it would have been a surprise if takeru could have won that fight by decision right :)

U can see several times when they lock up clinch superlek instinctively looks to throw elbows but has to refrain mid sequence. They would’ve been free too, Takeru had no idea he was open to them That being said elbows and knees drastically change the stakes, especially since they cause cuts

Yeah and? If they fought according to boxing rules takeru wouldve won. It doesnt show whos stronger. Ofc takeru would lose fighting in a ruleset hes never used before. Hes not trained to dish out or deal with knees, sweeps etc. Same way superlek isnt trained to deal with the boxing skills of s high level kickboxer

@user-wt5zs4vt4v true but it was a close fight in the final.round, takeru was doing well. Too bad he lost the other rounds. Thing is takeru as a kickboxer has way better boxing skills, but superlek had the superior kicking arsenal and kept takeru at range with his leg kicks, since muy thai focuses more on kicks knees and elbows thsn punches. So takeru couldnt actually get the opportunity to use his full power. Also takeru defense wasnt rhe best, if he improved it he could become a much better fighter. I think he will.learn from this and get much stronger. Just cuz a muy thai fighter beats a kick boxer doesnt necessarily mean muy thai is better than kickboxing. It depends on the people fighting too. Vice versa can also happen. But yeah muy thai is more well rounded I'd say as it includes clinch asw.

I guess in later rounds he was expecting the kicks to be coming nonstop.

Probably thought he was tough early on and wanted to make superlek think the kicks didn't bother him, but later on his leg was really beat up and hurt and he gave up on that game.

I guess that's illegal? I dunno what rules exactly they are fighting under here.
