This is the story of the birth of modern chess - when the possibilities of chess as an art, a science and a sport all converged.
The point of convergence was a young boy from Louisiana named Paul Morphy. At a time when America was seen as a backwoods nation with little cultural history and even less intellectual impetus, at a time when chess was considered the exclusive property of a few European countries, at a time when the game was played successfully by a handful of men wizened by years, Paul Morphy, in the brief span of 19 months and with seemingly little effort, defeated conclusively every player he met.
While today few non chess players even know his name, he was one of the most famous celebrities of his time and within the hallowed halls of the chess playing community he is considered by some as the greatest chess player of all time.
But this diminutive, unassuming boy rose to fame almost out of nowhere and once he secured his place in history, he retired back into that hazy unknown, shunning the public eye, never again to play serious chess. Not only was he one of great practitioners of the game, but also one of it's greatest enigmas. He's been given the sobriquet, The Pride and Sorrow of Chess.

Rh3 Kg5 22. Rh5 Kf4 23. Kf2 Terminating the game in masterly style, and giving it an interest, from the nature of the opening, which we had not looked.

Isn't it funny how Morphy was born in a time where he probably considered himself a failure in life, and in the end to him Chess was just a silly game he lost interest in. Yet 150 years in the future his games provide entertainment to hundreds of thousands of people. That he is considered to be one of the all time greats. That as far in the future as we go, he won't ever be forgotten. It's a shame he'll never know just how much influence he had, and continues to have on this world.

The first move or two can be difficult to find but after that the moves are mostly forced.

I found mate in 7 in just 2 minutes, but in my game i missed mate in 3, so idk i only find like first 3-4 and see if it works

It depends on the mate. If there's a clear pattern and there aren't several forcing variations, it's sort of just an extension of finding shorter mates of the same pattern. In this game, it's not so bad despite all of the pieces left because Black's has very little practical mobility. That is to say that there isn't really anything in the way of counterplay to look for in the sequence. Anything to be done is either forced or played to draw out the sequence. Morphy's idea is much more simple and requires less certain calculation, and I honestly might go for something similar because the idea of 'always looking for a better move' doesn't necessarily apply when you're winning by force and simplifying the position.

Glad that Morphy kept his cool and played well. Kasparov would have probably gotten so enraged that he might have lost. For example, in his Game with Ivanchuk, Ivanchuk irritated him by moving the dark square bishop to its starting position.

Hello Agadmator, At 4:57 when the queen captured on h7 with check and the black king moved to g8, what if white captured on f6 with the pawn not with rook, I think it is checkmate faster than yours and Morphy one.
