I'm going on 56 in a few weeks. i sat back and thought about it - but everyone i know that has ever had a drinking or alcohol problem - well - they're dead. Sadly it's a lot of people. It makes you thankful when you think about it - personally being around it for years and able to say no thank you when it would be offered to me.

I’m 56 and had a little problem with it, it destroys your future. If it weren’t for modern medicine, I probably wouldn’t be here. I really think drinking contributed to my development of A-fib, but I could be wrong. Needless to say, I would have been better off never touching the stuff.

Tommy Morrison's story was indeed successful and then tragic. I remember seeing him in Rocky V, which I felt he did good in. I also remember the press conference he had when he announced that he was HIV positive. I was shocked. This guy had it all, and then it was all gone. Sad how his life ended.

You can tell the time and research of dates and people that went into this video was incredible.I have a dvd collection that has all of the Rocky movies including the one with Tommy Morrison so I remember who he was, just never knew about his life journey and background in boxing or that he contracted AIDS and passed away. It's a sad ending to his life that was so successful but at least he could say that he held the thunder and not too many men in that profession can say that. R.I.P Tommy, I will remember this video and the knowledge I gained of you now every time I hear about you or see that rocky movie.Thank you Lamont for another excellent, informative Vlog 👏 👍, see you on the next one.

He was very young when choices were available to him, which involved decision making. He was too young to make good decisions; those that would have benefited him in the long run. He was surrounded with all that noise, and all that excitement, and all that drama, and now he lies in a small, still graveyard surrounded with near total silence, except for passing cars. There is such a poignancy with the graves of boxers that I just can't describe

As a long time boxing fan, thanks to my dad, this truly is a very sad story. I grew up when boxing was free to watch, before it went to pay per view. Besides loving to watch Muhammad Ali in the ring, I was also of fan of Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy "The Hit Man" Hearns, "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler, Hector "Macho" Camacho, Felix Trinidad, Iron Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr., and of course Evander Holyfield. I never heard of Tommy Morrison until Sylvester Stallone added him into the Rocky franchise. I also saw Tommy Morrison fight the great George Foreman on pay per view. Tommy Morrisons down fall was a tragedy. Drugs, and sex got the better of him. Of course we know about the down fall of Mike Tyson, and how it ruined him. Before Tyson was incarcerated for domestic abuse, There was a talk of a fight between Morrison, and Tyson. I`m sure that would have been quite a match!! Prime Mike Tyson VS Prime Tommy Morrison would be to close to call I think.

First of all. Thanks Lamar. This was an excellent video. I boxed briefly as an amateur and have been a life long boxing fan. You left one thing out that I thought was actually the beginning of his downfall. He was matched again with Ray Mercer in the pros. Morrison literally pummeled him the first three rounds. Mercer however survived everything and came back and brutally knocked Morrison out in the fifth round. If you watch it. This was the kind of knockout that some fighters never recover from. While he did come back and later beat Foreman. I honestly don’t think he was the same fighter. His lack of ability to adjust was exposed as well as his lack of a chin. That ultimately was what kept him from being an all time great. Thanks again brother.

Yeah man, Tommy Morrison was a rising star in the boxing world, such a shame it ended so bad so soon for him, and like you pointed out with the small, pretty much lackluster grave stone. (I'm not knocking it, it's just not what I expected to see after all his accomplishments in boxing) His party life after the Positive H.I.V. test was kind of like his fight with Rocky, "ay yo Tommy, I didn't hear no bell..." (like he had to get back up keep it going)

PHIL MACKRACKIN Ya but what he did after realizing he was Hiv positive was wrong to b promiscuous cuz he would have been spreading his aids around! It's a paradox he'd have had to adjust to! The human head is not meant to be beat on and clashed with helmet to helmet on a consistent bases. I personally think we have only scratched the surface due to the fact of how much an economic foot print things like MMA, Boxing and football has in American culture..As always we will in America place $$$$ over humanity and just disregard this sad fact. I've known to many cases myself personally where the hardest hitters I played football with growing up all had early tragic self destructive deaths. Even I turned to self destruction at an early age and have not yet made it to Morrisons age of death and persoanlly would find it amazing if I did. The problems that come along from CTE=Confusion, lack of memory, brain fog, poor impulse control etc etc Combine all those with fame and fortune you are asking for a train wreck. I guess the only thing that has kept me from catching aids from some beautiful floozy jezabell is my lack of fame and fortune haha But even with that being said up until I decided to be safe and stay celibate my decision making In choosing decent women was horrible so I'm lucky in that aspect I did never catch even anything minor. I’ve been watching boxing since I was a kid. My Mama and I were the only boxing fans of the family, anyway, Tommy Morrison could have gone far and I believe that he was also a South Paw if I’m not mistaken. He had a great left hook that could be considered a power house punch. It’s sad that his life went into such a downhill spiral. I’m just speculating but, did he ever use protective measures with these women or make sure that the needles he used were clean? He could have won the Diamond Belt if he would’ve changed his lifestyle completely. Fun fact: Tommy claimed to be John Wayne’s great-Nephew. John Wayne’s real name is Marion Robert Morrison.
