As an Eagles fan, congrats to Shane, this is a well deserved promotion. Also congrats to the Colts organization for selecting a great coach. The Philly/Indy connection is a lil weird, Indy got Frank Reich from Philly, Philly got Sirianni from Indy, and now Indy gets Shane from Philly all in the past 5 seasons. Wish ya'll the best of luck in the coming season.

He was main reason Eagles got to super-bowl… Nick Sirianni giving up play calling transformed the Eagles offense. Coach Steichen has an amazing feel for the game and with Anthony Richardson-sky is limit for Colts!

I was excited the minute I heard he was a candidate but thought it wouldn't likely happen. Really nice to see the emotion as it just feels more genuine than an over prepared speech. Very happy with this hire and can't wait to see the results next year. Not that I mean anything, but I might even consider renewing my season tickets.

As a chargers fan I loved Shane Steichen he was one of my favorite coaches ever. He gave two of our practice squad receivers career years on top of Herbert winning rookie of the year! There was a reason why Herbert lobbied for Shane to be retained when Staley took over.

Life long, die-hard Colts fan here. Irsay drives me nuts with his rambling. Can he just enjoy ownership, and not have to be so vocal, outspoken, attention hogging? He embarrasses himself, and draws ridicule. I would rather he just stay in the background and let Ballard run team, and Steichen coach. Back off not because you have to. You own the team, nobody's going to ever discount that. But back off because it's better for everyone involved all the way around. If you absolutely must speak, then how about preparing your comments in advance? You're just painful to watch up there Chief. Consider it strategy, whatever. Just please stop the long, rambling comments and let Chris do his job.

I appreciated an O-lineman getting the head role for a bit. Was hoping to see if he saw the game with a different perspective and capitalize off that. But I'm still a Colts fan through and through and I wish the best of luck to us all next season.

My man - TALENT is the separator in this league, not PREPARATION. Preparation is mandatory. Every coaching staff throws their heart and soul into preparing. The fact that this guy thinks preparation is the separator proves that he took for granted the insane amount of talent that he had in Philadelphia (particularly inheriting the league's best OLine) and always having a great QB talent in his past rooms - Rivers/Herbert/Hurts. Prepare all you want, but if you don't have the talent to execute, you are toast.

Tough for the Eagles. Whenever a team's play drops off, I always check if they lost a coordinator. Fans will pretend that their players were more important than the coordinator. But If you get offered a HC position, you have to take it. If you have a down year in this league, your HC might get removed and you with him. It's not 1978. You can't coach a 5-9 team for 3 years.
