hI every one back on the rats here in the daylight for a change using my Wolverine R 177 12ftlb with the Hikmicro Alpex on the top and it turns out quite an enjoyable night to be fair.
It is amazing the way Rodents will gnaw thru Breeze-blocks, Reinforced Concrete and Steel Cladded Buildings. I have repaired Cladding Footings with Concrete and Angle-iron Shuttering for a Maltsters, but shooting the Rats remains the best way of stopping them! I like watching Hares too, they are very elegant. Thank you.
Other than the commentary, other than the marksmanship, other than the great scenery , other than the true sense of hunting , Simon, I find it hard to believe that you're one guy producing these excellent videos. I'm thoroughly impressed , a fan for life .
@@simon6ppc246 nice to see that mate you didnt shoot that young hare in that yard ...i was about 19 went i shoot a hare worst mistake i ever made i have nothing but bad luck since and thats a old saying and a hare will cry a loud noise like a baby crying ............... no please people dont shoot hares
Excellent video showing the perfect way of how it should be done. I couldn't believe my eyes when Hartley photo bombed the video, a stunning animal to be seen in it's natural environment albeit in a farm yard. Thank you for taking us along I really enjoyed it mate.
I’m having a heck of a time trying to get a rat out of my garage. It gives me great pleasure to have watched this video. My terriers usually take care of them but they just came back from teeth cleaning at the vet. Set a trap and I’ll check in the morning. Thanks for not killing the bunny. Hi from Sacramento California
i have an old Webley 22 for rats in the garden that wander in from the farm next door. I sit in the kitchen doorway and wait for them to climb up onto the bird tables for fallen seeds. Nobody else in my village has one, but they all have cats and they get more rats than I shoot.
The Hare brought back a memory of when I was flying my now 22 year old male Harris Hawk one evening, and he came across a Hare trundling across a field. Talon glided slowly over it at about 10ft you could see him thinking bloody hell that's a big rabbit. Fortunately he turned on my whistle after thinking better of it and as usual came back to me. He would have been about 5 or 6 at the time. 😎👍anyway nice change to see a quality day time rat video mate all the best from a very wet Devon 🤠
@@simon6ppc246 usually about 25years but research now is saying 25/30 years. 🤠 however I think anything over 25 will be a bonus. He's retired from displays now although he still goes out flying, at his age he's seen it all and done it all bless him. Outlived 2 of my dogs he's been a fantastic bird and a great mate on many an adventure. I can honestly say he's never let me down. I hope to have him around for a few more years yet 👍
Hawks need to be killed just like rats because they are varmints that prey on small game like rabbits and other game animals we do not need their help.
Good video! The daytime shooting was a nice change-up. Those are big, healthy-looking rats. It’s amazing how accurate your pellet rifle is. Pellet rifles sure have come a long way since I was a kid hunting with a .177 caliber Sheridan Blue Streak pellet rifle! Well done! Hope all is cracking with Jack!!
Ye thanks Charles and you are 100% right, these pcps these days are just out of this world with the accuracy they can produce this Wolverine of mine still just blows me away as an head shot rat at 30 yards can be achieved over and over again. You stay safe my friend.
Brings back some fond memories!! I had a neighbor who had an old barn in their (open-field) backyard & the rats came out of there like new from a factory. We used BB guns back then (most preferred at that time was the Daisy Red Ryder: this was before the pellet guns became more & more perfected; one guy had a .22 !); l later had a Crosman pellet gun and had, l think, about 30+ kills on it.. rats & snakes only. Nobody had a problem with it then, like they probably would now; we would tell the local law we were hunting rats and all they ever said was to "be careful". Good times back then- miss them alot !!
i had a .22 Webley..... packed a punch,,,, much later joined gun club still got a colt.45 1889 a magnum .44 a assault rifle , Thompson machine gun Winchester 73 all genuine year of manufacture Ed
Most negative comments come from those who have never had to deal with this type of problem. I grew up on a farm and these buggers cause no end of havoc. Good work mate. A clean and humane way to deal with them.
Thanks for the vIdeo Simon. Yes confidence of your zero is crucial, even if it means getting the cardboard out mid shoot. That area should be target rich after dark.👍👍
Great video as ever. Currently got my own rat issue to deal with, so watching your uploads is always a positive for ideas. It was lovely to see Mr Hartley Hare going about his business with no issues. You're a true professional and always informative. Hope your wing dog is doing well and looking forward to the next upload. Regards
Outstanding Simon can only imagine what this place would be like a night…………place would be crawling wif em!!!!! All the very best give Jack a pat from me 👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴
The only pesting channel i watch, WHY! this man has an attitude to wildlife thats missing in a lot of shooters "how many would have taken that hare" got my respect.
Nice 👍 similar set up, used it for the neighborhood yotes. Since elimination @10 years ago, they've not been back. Still out in the garage in case they do come back. I was out to @1/4 mile, practiced with quarters 😊
As always, Simon, great shooting. That tail spinning is what we call the helicopter affect. Wood chucks do the same thing when hit. Stay safe 🙏 my friend. I look forward for your next video.
Excellent gear! This is also a 'new' method of pest control overhere in The Netherlands. I live in a rural area in the northern part and our cat sometimes brings us home 'presents' like a mole, fish or occassional rat😊
@NI.Kink,,,hi there cat brings home his trophy's my cat Pudwood he honestly killed rattlesnakes so proud after ,,,, he quicker than the snake rikki tikki tarva,,,, Ed Arizona
Nice to see Hares making a comeback, ive noticed in the far north of Scotland there are more Hares now than rabbits which have been decimated probably down to RHD2
Brings back memories of when I did competitive shoot (hand gun to long gun) and I used to go around to local farms and did "rodent control" for practice
Great video Nice to see in daylight Ive recently started rat shooting Ive got some good permissions Not too busy yet but im busy honing my skills and like you wait for the perfect head shot Much more satisfying knowing you've killed it clean Plus easier to find when clearing up 👍👍
Used a pellet riffle as a kid. The pellets were so slow that you had to correct for the drop even over a distance of just 30 meters. No vision scope, no crossbars. The riffle you use look very professional.
Great footage and pin point accuracy, nice to see an honest miss as we all do it but some scabby mangy looking rats there buddy one was that bad it looked like it was wearing camo it blended that well into the wall.
Top notch shooting as usual. George's buddy Tubby Tucker didn't move fast enough.😅 I bet Jack is taking a well deserved nap. OBTW - George is rat character in another ratters videos.
‘Daylight Rattery!’ More great shooting Si. Although my heart did miss a beat when you sat down and spun the rifle round into position! 😂 Respect for leaving the Hare too mate - they deserve that. 😊
As always, good shooting Simon 👍 Except for the last one 🤣 As you said, it does happen to us all. I get a few Hartleys on my land & I love to see them 😎
@@simon6ppc246 farmers I know down here in south tx do that and absolutely murder them- but they are literally protecting their livelihood - I know shooters that fly in copters as gunners for the government - they say there’s no way the population will ever be held in check- we are completely overrun
Don`t ya just love the Wolverine? Mine is a B lite in .22 FAC which I bought new in 2014. It still holds air just fine, and when needed, it puts an 18 grain pellet exactly where aimed. A wonderful trigger helps. Like you, I shoot holes or sharpie dots on plain paper, one shot per each.
Really nice video, good shots. Impressive this is in daylight, never seen a rat in daylight. What pellets/slugs do you use? Can you perhaps take us for a "gear/equipment" tour? Tell us about your different PCPs and rifles. You for sure master shooting. Best regards, Mads, Denmark.
I really like the day time ratting videos for some reason. I like night videos too, but the day time videos just make everything a little clearer to see the layout etc. That one rat at around the 6:50 mark looked like he had the mange?
