a year on and i still adore these talks, mimma always gently challenging colin is such a lovely dynamic. and colin's comments on vetements still feel relevant to moi
Firstly, mimma and colin both deserve to have an hour or two to FULLY digest each season from new york to milan or specific shows at least, and definitely deserve an equal amount of allocated time as Lou and her panels do, as these two offer a very high quality judgment on fashion, which isn't able to be condensed into a mere 30mins. Secondly, we all know the designers in which they were referring to if you have been following fashion week, however the reason they are there is to express their own opinions so they should be fully entitled to be 'ruthless' towards the designers that are very evidently not doing well in the fashion sphere, and it is way more enjoyable to see those two talk about how much they hate a show than like it. but with the expertise of those two, they do not deserved to be censored and i really hope this changes for the FW16 head to head.
The more vicious the conversation between Mimma Vigleziou and Colin McDowell be more fun is to watch However, you Showstudio should know that they need to mention all the designers' names that are not suppose mentioned in this video. We need ruthless critics like Cathy Horyn or the two above to tell the other side of the story. Either the designers are being criticized for not having talented or persuade those fashion-pilgrims to stop chasing designers with no talented is so essential/ and lacking in today's media. I am so glad SHow Studio is doing this fearlessly and am praying for not having it be cut by the big houses(LVMH.KERING). We need more people like you both to discuss and provoke thoughts in this industry instead just let those fashion-lackies(bloggers/editor/AW) give out invaluable "critics", vague applause, or just simply bullshit. Keep the good work and can't wait till the next discussion on the coming Couture season. XD
+ukim chong exactly theres a difference between constructive criticism and just hating as well. i am so tired of I LOVE THIS, I LOVE THIS (oh wait i actually don't but if i don't say i love it i won't be able to come to the show again!!)
Amazing discussion. I'm getting the feeling though that Colin and Mima are being pressured not to criticize bad shows. Shame shame to whoever is doing that. I hope they can return to sharing their opinions freely.
+MyVidStash i reckon the person who said you can't talk bad about our designer any more (around min 20 he tells the story) its definitely givenchy. he keeps talking about ricardo!!
pause at 21:43 this is so them! I need this as a screensaver. Sorry not sorry im slightly obsessed. "If Anna Wintour says we should have someone who was shearing sheep last week but is a genius, they'll do it" OMFG
Miu Miu - Purses have a tendency to fall apart, the dye begins wear off, not only on the bottom but on the sides where the purse rubs against your leg. The wear areas show through as the pre dyed white leather. This happened to a friend of mine, she was very upset and Miu Miu refused to repair or replace. What she really wanted was a refund as she didn't want another Miu Miu purse... Good luck with that!!!
i really think that mimma is so sexy!. mostly by her accent and i can understand every thing she says. i wanna acquire that accent. colin is the best because he always speaks the truth on every fashion season. i really have a strong feeling about the one his pertaining to and thats probably raf simons on dior. his team sent colin stuffs for him to stop criticizing their lame collections.
Can showstudio please create some sort of competition where the winner gets to go out for dinner with Colin? I'd love to meet him and pick his brains and listen to him bitch about designers.
Colin McDowell is an extremely vulgar person. Stating that tutors at a fashion college failed is such a narrow-minded and aggressive comment. Not everyone aims at becoming the next Giorgio Armani and commercial success is hardly a proof of actual success. Many people who are famous artists or designers may not have the ability to share their knowledge and to successfully develop the minds of young students. Stating that Louise Wilson was a failure is an insult to the amazing London fashion scene that she contributed to create. This man acts like a refined and intelligent person but his shallowness shows that he is nothing more than a cheap snob. Please, keep your sweeping statements for yourself and show respect for those people who truly contribute to the future of fashion.
